[Bug 1023244] Re: package bind9 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-4ubuntu0.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, so I'm marking this bug as Invalid. Specifically, you appear to have postfix installed but your /etc/postfix/main.cf file is missing. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: bind9 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023244 Title: package bind9 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-4ubuntu0.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/1023244/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1023360] [NEW] Comments longer than 1024 chars break sshd_config
Public bug reported: When sshd_config contains a comment of more than 1023 chars, it treats char 1024+ as valid configuration. That usually breaks the config, or (in case there accidentally is valid sshd_config syntax) is unwanted. To verify the bug, apply appended patch to sshd_config (that prepends a long comment) and try to start ssh. You will see this: $ sudo /usr/sbin/sshd /etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 2: Bad configuration option: ThisIsAnInvalidOption /etc/ssh/sshd_config: terminating, 1 bad configuration options Note that it complains about line 2 though the offending comment is in line 1. It is worth mentioning that active configuration lines longer than 1023 chars work fine. [Bug 1009579] Re: [MIR] tomcat7 (replaces tomcat6)
jakarta-taglibs-standard: - The package builds fine, but needs libservlet3.0-java from universe (but that comes from tomcat7 itself, so there is a circular build dependency) - no CVE history - no initscripts, dbus, setuid, sudoers, fscaps or cron jobs - there appears to be some test data in standard/test but it doesn't appear to be used in the build - Ubuntu does carry a delta, but it is primarily for packaging cleanups and a patch to work with Java 7 - the Ubuntu server team is subscribed to the bug - there is a watch file - Upstream seems inactive. The upstream source has not changed in 8 years. It looks like the project name changed (http://tomcat.apache.org/taglibs/) and that since the name change there have been a few more commits with the last one 3 years ago. They have not released a new version under the new name - the current release is packaged - is lintian clean - debian/rules is reasonable - there are a couple of javac warnings during the build, but they look harmless as they fallback to something sane While upstream seems inactive, that is not always a problem (the software could be mature and working properly for people) and it has a good security history. There is also the issue of the circular build dependency between tomcat7 and jakarta-taglibs-standard, but I don't think this is a blocker, but rather something to make note of. ACK (but please send the Ubuntu delta to Debian if you haven't already). ** Changed in: jakarta-taglibs-standard (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Committed ** Changed in: tomcat7 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Committed ** Changed in: tomcat7 (Ubuntu) Assignee: Jamie Strandboge (jdstrand) = (unassigned) ** Changed in: jakarta-taglibs-standard (Ubuntu) Assignee: Jamie Strandboge (jdstrand) = (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to jakarta-taglibs-standard in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1009579 Title: [MIR] tomcat7 (replaces tomcat6) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jakarta-taglibs-standard/+bug/1009579/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1023025] Re: search fail with get_ctrls : controls require LDAPv3
In my earlier comment (#5) I mentioned installing libnss-ldapd / libpam- ldapd as replacements for libnss-ldap / libpam-ldap. This did *not* solve the issue with group mappings: I experience the group mapping failures with both versions of the libnss and libpam LDAP packages on my 12.04 server. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023025 Title: search fail with get_ctrls : controls require LDAPv3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/1023025/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
