Jamie

When do you think you will be able to complete this review? I've
completed the seed change required to pull this onto the server ISO and
would like to start on the transition servlet2.5 - servlet3.0
transition to remove tomcat6 from main.

[Bug 1009579] Re: [MIR] tomcat7 (replaces tomcat6)

2012-07-11 Thread Gema Gomez
This change seems to have become a problem in our server iso testing:
https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/view/Quantal/view/ISO%20Testing%20Dashboard/job/quantal-server-amd64_tomcat-server/

so it should be fixed quick or the old tomcat be returned to the iso in
the meantime.

[Bug 1023244] Re: package bind9 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-4ubuntu0.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2012-07-11 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in
Ubuntu, so I'm marking this bug as Invalid.

Specifically, you appear to have postfix installed but your
/etc/postfix/main.cf file is missing.

You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1023325] [NEW] openvpn init.d script writepid in wrong location

2012-07-11 Thread Leif
Public bug reported:

The openvpn init.d script has --writepid at the wrong location. The
current location ends up giving the openvpn connection a common

--writepid must be after --config

Description:Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release:12.04
Package: openvpn

Please see attached /etc/init.d/openvpn where --writepid has been moved.

Also please see the attached diff.

[Blueprint servercloud-q-openflow-controller] OpenFlow Controller for Ubuntu

2012-07-11 Thread James Page
Blueprint changed by James Page:

Whiteboard changed:
The Floodlight is in fact working on a plugin for quantum that will be apache
licensed like the rest of Floodlight. It will vlan functionality similar to
the openvswitch plugin.
   - Mike Cohen (Floodlight team @ Big Switch)

  User Stories:

Dan is deploying OpenStack to support a public cloud deployment. He's
selected OpenFlow compatible network switches and is easier able to
integrate them into his OpenStack deployment using Floodlight and
  Quantum with Ubuntu 12.10.

  Assumptions:

  - Universe target for Ubuntu 12.10
  - All Java deps can be fullfilled/packaged
  - Floodlight plugin for quantum will be avaliable in the 12.10 development
timeframe.
  - Packages will target Ubuntu first (and Debian later).

  Test Plan:

- Testing will be dependent on having access to OpenFlow based networking
- infrastructure - details TBC.
+ Full Testing will be dependent on having access to OpenFlow based
+ networking infrastructure - details TBC.
+
+ Simulated testing using mininet with a floodlight controller.

  Release Note:

Ubuntu 12.10 features the Floodlight OpenFlow network controller.
Floodlight can be used with OpenStack/Quantum to provide full network
  control in cloud deployments.

[Bug 1023360] [NEW] Comments longer than 1024 chars break sshd_config

2012-07-11 Thread Nils Toedtmann
Public bug reported:

When sshd_config contains a comment of more than 1023 chars, it treats
char 1024+ as valid configuration. That usually breaks the config, or
(in case there accidentally is valid sshd_config syntax) is unwanted.

To verify the bug, apply appended patch to sshd_config (that prepends a
long comment) and try to start ssh. You will see this:

  $ sudo /usr/sbin/sshd
/etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 2: Bad configuration option: ThisIsAnInvalidOption
/etc/ssh/sshd_config: terminating, 1 bad configuration options

Note that it complains about line 2 though the offending comment is in
line 1.

It is worth mentioning that active configuration lines longer than 1023
chars work fine. (I discovered this bug when i commented out a long
Match Address list)

This bug strikes at on
 * openssh-server 1:5.3p1-3ubuntu7 (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS)
 * openssh-server 1:5.8p1-7ubuntu1 (Ubuntu 11.10)
 * openssh-server 1:5.9p1-5ubuntu1 (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS)

[Bug 1018265] Re: openvswitch-datapath-dkms 1.4.2+git20120612-2: openvswitch kernel module failed to build

2012-07-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package openvswitch -
1.4.2+git20120612-2ubuntu2

---
openvswitch (1.4.2+git20120612-2ubuntu2) quantal; urgency=low

  * Disable openvswitch-datapath-dkms package (LP: #1018265); it's not
compatible with the 3.5 kernel (which provides the openvswitch module)
and if users really required the brcompat module and are using an older
kernel then they can use openvswitch-datapath-source.

[Bug 670289] Re: Laptop won't shut down with rabbitmq running

2012-07-11 Thread Dave Walker
su was keeping a session opened, blocking the shutdown. I believe this
was fixed in bug bug 966269 .. which is now included in Debian aswell.

I think this was finally fixed with:
rabbitmq-server (2.7.1-0ubuntu4) precise; urgency=low

  [ Dave Walker ]
  * debian/rabbitmq-script-wrapper: Use start-stop-daemon instead of su
to run the commands. This also allows rabbitmq to start on the
installer if invoke-rc.d is used with --force. (LP: #966269)

  [ Andres Rodriguez ]
  * debian/rabbitmq-server.init: Use --no-wait in initctl emit command to
not stall apt-get installations. (LP: #968124)

[Bug 1009579] Re: [MIR] tomcat7 (replaces tomcat6)

2012-07-11 Thread Jamie Strandboge
jakarta-taglibs-standard:
- The package builds fine, but needs libservlet3.0-java from universe (but that
comes from tomcat7 itself, so there is a circular build dependency)
- no CVE history
- no initscripts, dbus, setuid, sudoers, fscaps or cron jobs
- there appears to be some test data in standard/test but it doesn't appear to
be used in the build
- Ubuntu does carry a delta, but it is primarily for packaging cleanups and a
patch to work with Java 7
- the Ubuntu server team is subscribed to the bug
- there is a watch file
- Upstream seems inactive. The upstream source has not changed in 8 years. It
looks like the project name changed (http://tomcat.apache.org/taglibs/) and
that since the name change there have been a few more commits with the last one
3 years ago. They have not released a new version under the new name
- the current release is packaged
- is lintian clean
- debian/rules is reasonable
- there are a couple of javac warnings during the build, but they look harmless
as they fallback to something sane

While upstream seems inactive, that is not always a problem (the
software could be mature and working properly for people) and it has a
good security history. There is also the issue of the circular build
dependency between tomcat7 and jakarta-taglibs-standard, but I don't
think this is a blocker, but rather something to make note of.

ACK (but please send the Ubuntu delta to Debian if you haven't already).

[Bug 387069] Re: incorrect filesystem permissions prevent nagios command checking from working

2012-07-11 Thread David Lublink
A much easier fix to this button is to add www-data to the nagios group.

I did it by editing /etc/group and added www-data to the line starting
with nagios.

I restarted apache, and the error is gone.

[Bug 1023025] Re: search fail with get_ctrls : controls require LDAPv3

In my earlier comment (#5) I mentioned installing libnss-ldapd / libpam-

solve the issue with group mappings: I experience the group mapping
failures with both versions of the libnss and libpam LDAP packages on my
