[Bug 839657] Re: Error message about parsing /etc/hosts with rabbitmqctl

2012-09-06 Thread Almacha
I found this page because I googled hosts feo0::0 fe00::0 because I
just noticed this strange feo0 in my /etc/hosts file. I didn't write
this line myself so it's probably a bug in the default linux install. On
a newer machine there isn't this bug any more.

The end of my host file (that I did not write myself) :
::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
feo0::0 ip6-localnet
ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
ff02::3 ip6-allhosts

[Bug 1046278] Re: rest-bench always fails on initial execution

2012-09-06 Thread James Page
This is actually just a timeout on the initial hit on the radow gateway
- it takes a few seconds to initialize the rados pools.

Marking 'Low' and 'Triaged'; increasing the timeout in rest-bench is
probably the correct way to resolve this issue.

[Bug 1046771] [NEW] Time runs too fast

2012-09-06 Thread Colin Watson
Public bug reported:

While packaging GRUB 2.00 and testing it in kvm on quantal, I noticed
that the timeout at the GRUB menu expires much too quickly. Initially I
assumed that this was a regression in GRUB. However, it is apparently a
known regression in qemu-kvm. This was reported to openSUSE
(https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=769138) and (judging from
the openSUSE packaging) fixed in these two upstream commits:

It looks like you might have some cruft in /etc/default/tftpd-hpa:

Please can you review and ensure that its syntactically correct and
amend as appropriate.

You should be able to purge your package after taking these steps.

[Bug 1045194] Re: usershares created in nautilus not working

2012-09-06 Thread James Page
Hi Thomas

I was not able to reproduce this issue in Ubuntu Quantal.

Please could you run the following commands and attach them to this bug
report:

   sudo testparm -s

This will give us general information about the samba configuration on
your install.

I see:

   usershare allow guests = Yes

In my output.

once you have provided the requested information.

[Bug 936756] Re: lxc complains about cgroup not available

2012-09-06 Thread Arie Skliarouk
kernel 3.2.0-30-generic
cgroup-bin 0.37.1-1ubuntu10

After boot cgroup fs is mounted onto /sys/fs/cgroup

# df | grep cgroup
 cgroups  4088656 0   4088656   0% /sys/fs/cgroup
# mount | grep cgroup
cgroups on /sys/fs/cgroup type tmpfs (rw,uid=0,gid=0,mode=0755)
#

and lxc-start complains on lxc-start: cgroup is not mounted

To workaround the problem following had to be done:
/etc/init.d/cgconfig stop
mkdir -p /cgroup
mount none -t cgroup /cgroup

After that lxc-start worked properly...

[Bug 1045444] Re: amavisd-new tries to load perl modules that don't exist

2012-09-06 Thread James Page
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug in Ubuntu.

The use of these optional modules is dependent on perl 5.12:

  push(@optmodules, $] = 5.012000 ? qw(unicore::Heavy.pl)
 : qw(unicore::Canonical.pl unicore::Exact.pl unicore::PVA.pl));

As 12.04 ships perl 5.14 I would not expect amavisd to try to load these
module (indeed I was unable to reproduce this issue on a clean 12.04
server install).

Please could you verify that you are using the version of perl from the
distribution by running the following commands:

  perl --version
  which perl

[Bug 951087] Re: Samba non-functional on boot.

2012-09-06 Thread THCTLO
This bug should be reopend.

Not being able to set the interfaces in the samba config files is very
bad.

I recommend everybody to skip Ubuntu and change to Debian instead.
This is not te way to handle Bugs reports.

There are lots op people use the interfaces setting.

What i you have 2-4-8 Nics and only 1 should use samba.

Ive had this problem on 5 server now, and all are running fine now with
Debian Squeeze.

Ubuntu is slow compaired to debian, just the whole OS is slow, test is
your self...

Hi Raphael!

I'm not opposed. Please update setup.py accordingly though.

[Bug 1046946] [NEW] None in cfgmnts second field gets converted to string

2012-09-06 Thread Scott Moser
Public bug reported:

This seems as a regression of bug 898365.

you can see this with:
#cloud-config
mounts:
 - [ ephemeral0, /opt , auto, defaults,noexec ]
 - [ swap, null ]
output: {all: '| tee -a /var/log/cloud-init-output.log'}

Saw this at [1]. basically None gets converted to a string and then
compared to None.

[Bug 1045845] Re: 12.10 guest crash on login when using 12.04 qemu-kvm with cirrus driver

2012-09-06 Thread Serge Hallyn
Here is a tarball with a few crashfiles from /var/run. I'm pretty sure
the compiz one is unrelated (that it happened when I logged in over SDL
instead of over VNC) The others are two pairs of crash files from two
attempts to log in over vnc.

The colord crash happens every time I log in over vnc, even when I start
dwm instead of unity.

The xorg crash only happens with unity. Just installed -dbgsym in the
hopes of getting a backrace.

2012-09-06 Thread Serge Hallyn
NATURALLY once -dbgsym is installed this becomes much harder to
reproduce, implying this is a timing related bug.

Unfortunately unpacking a previous /var/run/_usr_bin_Xorg.0.crash file
and running 'sudo gdb /usr/bin/X CoreDump' doesn't give any sort of
backtrace.

---
lxc (0.8.0~rc1-4ubuntu33) quantal; urgency=low

  [ Serge Hallyn ]
  * 0206-lxc-wait-initialize-timeout: initialize timeout to -1 so lxc-wait
will, by default, wait for the container to enter the requested state.
  * debian/patches/compilecleanups/* - fix compile time warnings.
  * lxc.lxc-net.upstart: tell iptables not to masquerate packets between
containers.  (LP: #1045947)
  * 0208-fix-getitem-utsname-segv: fix seg fault when doing get_item(utsname)
on newly created container.

after calling Container-Create() to completely reload the newly created
config.

  * 0212-lxc-destroy-rm-symlink: If rootfs is a symbolic link to a directory,
remove it.  (LP: #1046117)
  * 0213-add-premount-hook.patch: add a premount hook to support encrypted
filesystems.  (LP: #1043052)

  [ Stéphane Graber ]
  * lxc.lxc-net.upstart: Make the iptables call more consistent (LP: #1045947)

[Bug 1047080] [NEW] Jar names differ between Debian and Ubuntu builds

2012-09-06 Thread Andrew Ross
Public bug reported:

The change made in patch ubuntu1 which alters the jar name in
/usr/share/java means that the jar has a different name in Ubuntu from
that in Debian. This makes some packages which build in Debian fail to
build in Ubuntu. It would be good for the Ubutu package to install the
jars as before, but include additional symlinks to achieve backwards
compatibility with the previous versions in Ubuntu.

The relevant changelog is:

geronimo-jms-1.1-spec (1.1-1.2ubuntu1) precise; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian testing.
  * d/rules: Add --usj-name=geronimo-jms-1.1-spec to ensure consistent jar
naming with previous versions.

[Bug 1047059] Re: Packaging Issues into Ubuntu 12.04

2012-09-06 Thread stelford
hello Emilien, a few questions :)

1) is /var/log/cinder not owned by cinder:adm ? if it is, that's the
correct owner/group. What makes you think it's wrong ?

2) that is inside the python 2.7 distribution, that's almost assuredly
the wrong place for it. I have submitted a patch that makes a directory
under /var/lib/cinder/volumes with the owner of cinder:cinder. I am
curious though, how did the volumes end up pointed there ? do you have
anything in your cinder.conf perhaps ?

Regards
S.

This bug was fixed in the package isc-dhcp - 4.2.4-1ubuntu7

isc-dhcp (4.2.4-1ubuntu7) quantal-proposed; urgency=low

  * debian/dhclient-script.linux: Explicitly set the PATH to that of
ENV_SUPATH in /etc/login.defs and unset various other variables. We need
to do this so /sbin/dhclient cannot abuse the environment to escape
AppArmor confinement via this script. This can be removed once AppArmor
supports environment filtering (LP: 1045985). Don't worry about
debian/dhclient-script.linux.udeb or debian/dhclient-script.kfreebsd*
since AppArmor isn't used in these environments.

Now I performed the dconf-editor configuration change and I will repeat the

[Bug 1034108] Re: Lubuntu, won't take system password, always prompts for keyring

2012-09-06 Thread Timo Mikkilä
I have had this same issue since I installed Ubuntu One in lubuntu
(12.04).

I set same password for log in and for this 'Default' keyring as I read
from somewhere that then the keyring would be unlocked at log in
automatically without prompting the password dialog. This didn't work
and I suspect that LXDE in lubuntu doesn't support gnome-keyring.
