I encountered this problem today, on 12.04.1, VMs built last week boot fine, machines built today fail at boot. [Bug 488696] Re: syntax error in nsswitch config near [ syntax error ]
Currently autofs falls back to reading it's own configuration files, if the parser did not find automount stanza. The problem is that the current autofs' parser fails on the default nsswitch.conf See: lib/nss_parse.y Options are: 1) change default nsswitch.conf (not gonna happen see comment #18, see comment #20 for history which, well, mattered in the past) 2) remove autofs nsswitch.conf parser (not ideal, breaks compatibility with other distros history see comment #20) 3) fix autofs nsswitch.conf parser 4) make autofs use something that knows how to parse nsswitch.conf properly I personally would prefer solution #3 and send the patch to debian upstream. Unfortunately I do not know Yacc to even understand what ./lib/nss_parse.y is doing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/488696 Title: syntax error in nsswitch config near [ syntax error ] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/488696/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1047398] [NEW] remote printing using samba cups fails for pdf files
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have a small server with a printer (HP Officejet PRO K550) connected to it. I have shared this printer using samba with the rest of the network (Windows 7 pc's). I use the hpcups 3.12.2 driver. The problem is that I can not print pdf files from the windows 7 pc. I can however print any other type of file (MS Word, png) from the windows pc. Also when I am on the server, I can print pdf files. When I look in the cups job list I can not see a job when I try to print a pdf file over the internet. [Bug 1048787] [NEW] slapd gives assertions for valid configuration
Public bug reported: The slapd version in Ubuntu precise (2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4.1) suffers from the same issue that was reported in debian BTS for the debian version 2.4.28-1.1. When configuring the shell backend in slapd.conf the syntax is (see man slapd-shell): add pathname argument... bind pathname argument... compare pathname argument... and so on. That is the path to the script followed by its arguments. This has worked fine in the past. However, the current version 2.4.28-1.1 of the slapd server refuses to start if any arguments are given after the path name in the configuration file, with the following assertion: slapd: ../../../../servers/slapd/config.c:198: config_check_vals: Assertion `c-argc == 2' failed. For the configuration of the shell backend the assertion condition means that it is not possible to pass arguments to the script in the slapd.conf. The man pages documents that this should still be possible, and it has been working with earlier versions. ** Affects: openldap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1048787 Title: slapd gives assertions for valid configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/1048787/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1031065] Re: cloud-init-nonet runs 'start networking' explicitly
Scott, can you please try a test package of mountall built from lp:ubuntu/mountall? I think I have both the mounting and mounted events handled correctly there (and in my tests, seemingly faster). Testing in scenarios other than the cloud boot case would also certainly be helpful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1031065 Title: cloud-init-nonet runs 'start networking' explicitly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/1031065/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
