Yes, I've run apport. $LANG is en_ZA.UTF-8.

As a temporary workaround, you can just strip salt to 9 characters. The

Paul Belanger:

This bug is *not* about asterisk-core-sounds-en-gsm. There was a
package for a while named asterisk-sounds-extra that had these files,
but that does not appear to be in precise.

Hi Thomas

Thanks for the additional information; Please could you confirm how you
would expect the database upgrade to take place in your environment?

The packages provide upgrade scripts for dbconfig-common; but if you are
not using this method I can see how you might hit issues.

[Bug 1026680] Re: bacula director crashing whole system

I can see one thing that might be causing this even with dbconfig-
common; this is present in the latest packages in quantal:

ALTER DATABASE _DBC_DBNAME_ SET datestyle TO 'ISO, YMD';

But its not present in precise; neither is it applied during upgrades
AFAICT.

Thomas

FYI I suspect the reason the scripts are installed to /usr/share/bacula-
director is that /etc/bacula is reserved for configuration files; these
files are not configuration files that users would be expected to edit
so they are installed to /usr/share/bacula-director instead.

[Bug 761463] Re: edquota crashes when used with libnss-db

2012-09-10 Thread Bolesław Tokarski
Hello, jabłko,

Thanks for the details. The problem was found on our Lucid build-
servers, so this is still a problem there.

However, knowing that the problem is fixed in some particular version
lets us backport the particular package.

I am not sure if anyone will bother with backporting the fix to lucid?

Cheers,
Ballock

[Bug 946022] Re: KVM Guest Hangs at Booting from hard disk

2012-09-10 Thread Daniel Lloyd
I encountered this problem today, on 12.04.1, VMs built last week boot
fine, machines built today fail at boot. I was able to work around this
by dist-updating to the new kernel just released, leading me to believe
there is some mis-match in the configuration performed if the VM guest
has a newer version kernel than the host?

[Bug 488696] Re: syntax error in nsswitch config near [ syntax error ]

2012-09-10 Thread Dmitrijs Ledkovs
Currently autofs falls back to reading it's own configuration files, if the
parser did not find automount stanza.
The problem is that the current autofs' parser fails on the default
nsswitch.conf
See: lib/nss_parse.y

Options are:
1) change default nsswitch.conf (not gonna happen see comment #18, see comment
#20 for history which, well, mattered in the past)
2) remove autofs nsswitch.conf parser (not ideal, breaks compatibility with
other distros history see comment #20)
3) fix autofs nsswitch.conf parser
4) make autofs use something that knows how to parse nsswitch.conf properly

I personally would prefer solution #3 and send the patch to debian
upstream. Unfortunately I do not know Yacc to even understand what
./lib/nss_parse.y is doing.

[Bug 1047398] [NEW] remote printing using samba cups fails for pdf files

2012-09-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have a small server with a printer (HP Officejet PRO K550) connected
to it. I have shared this printer using samba with the rest of the
network (Windows 7 pc's). I use the hpcups 3.12.2 driver.

The problem is that I can not print pdf files from the windows 7 pc. I
can however print any other type of file (MS Word, png) from the windows
pc. Also when I am on the server, I can print pdf files. When I look in
the cups job list I can not see a job when I try to print a pdf file
over the internet.

There are no entries in the samba log files (log.smbd log.nmbd) or the
cups log files (access_log error_log) around the time I try to print a
pdf from my windows pc.

[Bug 1048787] [NEW] slapd gives assertions for valid configuration

2012-09-10 Thread Mattias Ellert
Public bug reported:

The slapd version in Ubuntu precise (2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4.1) suffers from
the same issue that was reported in debian BTS for the debian version
2.4.28-1.1.

When configuring the shell backend in slapd.conf the syntax is (see man
slapd-shell):

add pathname argument...
bind pathname argument...
compare pathname argument...

and so on.

That is the path to the script followed by its arguments. This has
worked fine in the past. However, the current version 2.4.28-1.1 of the
slapd server refuses to start if any arguments are given after the path
name in the configuration file, with the following assertion:

slapd: ../../../../servers/slapd/config.c:198: config_check_vals:
Assertion `c-argc == 2' failed.

For the configuration of the shell backend the assertion condition means
that it is not possible to pass arguments to the script in the
slapd.conf. The man pages documents that this should still be possible,
and it has been working with earlier versions.

[Bug 1031065] Re: cloud-init-nonet runs 'start networking' explicitly

2012-09-10 Thread Steve Langasek
Scott, can you please try a test package of mountall built from
lp:ubuntu/mountall? I think I have both the mounting and mounted events
handled correctly there (and in my tests, seemingly faster).

Testing in scenarios other than the cloud boot case would also certainly
be helpful.

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

  echo 30 29 27 26 23 | mawk '{gsub (^[^ ]+ , ); print $0}'
  leads to print 23 instead of 29 27 26 23
According to the man the leading ^ matches the front of a string, but it
seems to be ignored.

  This works OK with gawk.

[Bug 1048207] Re: el complete in langpacks.txt breaks build

2012-09-10 Thread Martin Pitt
-requested=`sed s/ complete/(complete)/ $REQUESTED_LANGUAGES | xargs`
+requested=`sed s/ complete// $REQUESTED_LANGUAGES | xargs`

This will just entirely ignore the complete flag and thus break this
functionality.

-done
+done $REQUESTED_LANGUAGES

I don't think that works -- that's a variable with the list of
languages, not a file. The operator redirects stdin from a file only,
not from a variable.

[Bug 1048484] [NEW] Seahorse can't change password GDBus.Error: org.freedesktop.Secret.Error.NoSuchObject:The collection does not exist

2012-09-10 Thread ange
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu quantal (development branch) 12.10

seahorse 3.5.91-0ubuntu1

Enabling left panel and right click on login keychain, choose change
password.

Error message:

not exist

In seahorse 3.4.1-2~precise1 from the gnome3 repo the password change worked.

Workaround (not recommended for testing of course):

download
http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnome3-team/gnome3/ubuntu/pool/main/s/seahorse/seahorse_3.4.1-2~precise1_i386.deb
sudo apt-get remove seahorse
sudo dpkg -i seahorse_3.4.1-2~precise1_i386.deb
echo seahorse hold | sudo dpkg --set-selections

[Bug 1048061] Re: Sync request for cvc3 2.4.1-4 from Debian sid

2012-09-10 Thread Martin Pitt
There is nothing to sponsor here right now, as gmp needs to be merged
first (and the new version needs to be checked for new features, ABI/API
changes, etc., as we are in feature freeze). Unsubscribing sponsors for
now, please re-subscribe if gmp got fixed or merging the new version
from Debian is safe. Thanks!
