Thanks for that Micah, it looks like my libreadline5 install was broken and perhaps it was missing from the repos for a short period as I was able to reinstall it just now. It might be worth re-testing with the 3.5.0-16.24 kernel once it lands in the quantal release pocket, it's currently sitting in quantal- proposed. Hi,
I'm also having this issue. I have 1 MAAS Server and 1 MAAS Node.
- I have the node successfully deployed as shown in MAAS
- from the Server, I can ssh to the node without passwords - so the keys are
working
- I can also ssh using juju ssh 0 just fine - I'm in
- inside the node, I have internet access - I can manually install packages
- however, I cannot get a reaction when deploying juju charms from the Server...
- I have disabled the firewall on the server (ufw disable) - didn't solve

I have a dual monitor setup (1920x1080x2 horizontal layout, launcher on left monitor primary), and edge resistance seems to have stopped working completely. There is no resistance when moving mouse from the right monitor over to the left and vice versa. It used to work fine, so something broke it. Missing edge resistance makes it harder to hit the top right indicator meny on the left monitor, and also to trigger maximization on edge hit. Confirmed on Precise with kernel 3.2-31-generic. Brightness keys don't change screen brightness, even after adding the 'acpi_backlight' option. I tested a recompiled brcmsmac module with the patch mentioned above : not better. I also tried to add the patch from https://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/linville/wireless-testing.git;a=commit;h=edc7651f3a4ffa7fca37d92401562694121512ad : not better. I had a further look at the changelog. This commit looks more promising : https://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/linville/wireless-testing.git;a=commit;h=898d3c3b2462cd439edb575f43b732425693aff0 It changes the way brcmsmac reads info from sprom, by using the bcma module. This includes changing the way it reads the country code. So it might be a good candidate for a backport test. Unfortunately, it seems more difficult to backport this commit. The patch does not fit well on the source code of kernel 3.2.0-31, and I suppose it would also need to backport some code for bcma module and recompile it. Public bug reported: I have tested with gnome-terminal, evince, firefox and nautilus; the bug seems to be chromium specific. This is what I have to do to reproduce the issue with no chromium windows open on my desktop. 1. Open one maximized chromium window 2. Press ctrl+n to open a second maximized chromium window A small portion of the second window's bottom does not render, showing whatever is behind it. Public bug reported: In about 50 % of boots after login - although compiz process is running, I cannot use the key/mouse bindings. Not sure if all plugins affected, but at least Desktop Wall, Scale Windows or Application Switcher. It already happened also during work that at some point I noticed that the bindings are not working any more although after login they did. Pressing ALT+F2 and executing a compiz --replace fixes the problem then - which is for me not a real problem but the normal user would need to google a lot until finding out and probably tries multiple re-logins for getting lucky. Two scenarios to reproduce the problem: a) 1. Boot up Ubuntu with AC supply disconnected but battery powered. 2. Ubuntu will freeze somewhere during boot process before login screen is displayed. I think it happens around the time X is started. In most cases get fancy patterns displayed on screen, more rarely screen stays blank. b) 1. Boot up Ubuntu with AC supply connected. 2. Logon to the system. 3. Gnome Desktop is displayed. 4. Pull the plug of AC. 5. It takes about 1 or 2 seconds. Screen freezes. Laptop is more or less useless for me without the possibility of using it battery powered. I am a quite experienced C/C++/Java application programmer, but know few to nothing about system programming. However you could come back to me and guide me in which logs to look or what to do to trace down the problem.
