[Bug 1015405]

 (In reply to comment #30)
  ClamAV 0.97.6 is available. Thanks for your patience.

 Thanks David! Do you happen to know when the fix will be available for CentOS?

With a quick online search, I see several package repositories have rpm
files available for 0.97.6 already. You should be able to find the build
that you need without much trouble.

[Bug 927540] Re: multipath ignores blacklist in multipath.conf

2012-10-04 Thread Peter Petrakis
That devnode line is actually part of the default in memory config,
see libmultipath/blacklist.c#setup_default_blist.  So try dropping
that.

Just try and keep you multpath.conf as simple as possible,
to even *one* directive, test and record, then iterate until you start to see it
break. It's best to stop multipath-tools altogether and just multipath -F
multipath -v4 until you find the breakage. Record the logs the entire time
using redirection or 'script' and attach your results to this issue. Thank you.

[Bug 1061537] Re: invalid syntax in apparmor profile abstractions/lxc/container-base

2012-10-04 Thread John Johansen
thankyou for reporting this,

I can suggest a work around while you wait for a fix to logprof

edit the /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/lxc/container-base file and comment out
the line that has
  capability,

by changing it to
# capability,

do this to any line containing a mount rule too.
  mount ...

Now you should be able to run logprof, once you are done running logprof
you can edit the /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/lxc/container-base file
and remove the # from the capability and mount rules.

[Bug 1061166] Re: ec2 instance IDs are broken after folsom upgrade

2012-10-04 Thread Andrew Glen-Young
I upgraded today and found that I had this issue.

Not all of my instances had duplicate entries in the
`instance_id_mappings` table, however I did have more entries within the
`instance_id_mappings` than within the `instances` table.

It seems that the `id` column in the `instances` table is still being
used somewhere.

In order to work around the problem I needed to set the auto_increment
integer to be the same for each table.

Example:

-- grab the auto_increment integer for `instances` table
SELECT Auto_increment FROM information_schema.tables WHERE
table_name='instances' AND table_schema='nova';

-- grab the auto_increment integer for `instances` table
SELECT Auto_increment FROM information_schema.tables WHERE
table_name='instance_id_mappings' AND table_schema='nova';

-- raise the lowest number returned to the same as the highest for the
relevant table.
ALTER TABLE instances AUTO_INCREMENT = 1769801923;

[Bug 1060404] Re: update-grub runs and fails in containers

2012-10-04 Thread Serge Hallyn
After talking to cjwatson on irc, there is another option. update-grub
is failing because /dev/disk/ is not set up in the container. So we
could add an upstart job which runs only in containers, and manually
sets up /dev/disk/. This also might help other software which relies on
/dev/disk/. However, as grub is not installed in ubuntu containers by
default (but is installed in ubuntu-cloud containers) we can't blindly
re-use grub-probe. If we use grub-probe only if it is available, then
we are helping fewer cases. If we detect the root device by hand, I
fear we are duplicating too much fragile code.

Perhaps the best option is simply an upstart job like the below (but
smarter and safer):

start on starting mountall
task
script
  type grub-probe  /dev/null 21 || { exit 0; stop; }
  mkdir -p /dev/disk/by-label /dev/disk/by-uuid
  rootdev=`grub-probe -t device /`
  do_mknod /dev/rootdev
  rootlabel=`grub-probe -t fs_label /`
  ln -s ../../$rootdev /dev/disk/by-label/$rootlabel
  rootuuid=`grub-probe -t fs_uuid /`
  ln -s ../../$rootdev /dev/disk/by-uuid/$rootuuid
end script

[Bug 1061665] [NEW] Filter scheduler not respecting the force_hosts hint

2012-10-04 Thread Dražen Lučanin
Public bug reported:

When I'm trying to boot instances on a specific host (sleepy) by
issuing:

nova boot --image mybucket/image.manifest.xml --flavor m1.tiny
--key_name mykey --hint force_hosts=sleepy test-vm

my VMs always seem to start on a random host instead on the one I
targeted. I'm using Essex and the filter scheduler (my nova.conf
contains
`compute_scheduler_driver=nova.scheduler.filter_scheduler.FilterScheduler`).

My user is admin (I sourced /var/lib/nova/novarc), I also have
--allow_admin_api=true in my nova.conf file. The only mention of filter
in my /var/log/nova-scheduler.log is

 u'filter_properties': {u'scheduler_hints': {u'force_hosts':
u'sleepy'}}.

This file also says u'_context_is_admin': True and u'_context_roles':
[u'admin']

Here is the full request grabbed from the nova-scheduler.log file:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/1260083/

The matter was also discussed in this AskUbuntu question:

http://askubuntu.com/questions/169625/why-cant-i-get-nova-openstack-to-
use-a-specific-host

I'm running Ubuntu server 12.04 and nova-scheduler version
2012.1-0ubuntu2.

  --

  Description of the problem:

  The command 'repquota' is not working properly with an XFS file system
  on 12.04 and later. It only reports root's quota. The same command
  worked well with 10.04, and the other quota commands (xfs_quota) seem to
  work properly as well.

  Version affected: 12.04 LTS:

  ii quota 4.00-3 implementation of the disk quota system
  ii xfsprogs 3.1.7 Utilities for managing the XFS filesystem

  How reproducible is the problem? Always.

  Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a XFS partition.
  2. Create an entry in fstab such as:

  /dev/vdb1 /mnt xfs defaults,usrquota,grpquota 1 1

  3. Run and compare the output of the following commands on 10.04 LTS ,
  12.04 LTS and 12.10.

  $ sudo mount /mnt
  $ sudo mkdir -p /mnt/test
  $ sudo chown $USER:$GROUP /mnt/test
  $ sudo repquota /mnt
  $ sudo xfs_quota -x -c report /mnt

  This appears to be a regression.

[Bug 1052365] Re: pas la possibilte d installer derniere version de samba

2012-10-04 Thread Marc Deslauriers
Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Your
report should contain, at a minimum, the following information so we can
better find the source of the bug and work to resolve it.

Submitting the bug about the proper source package is essential. For
help see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . Additionally,
in the report please include:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'cat /etc/lsb-release' or System -
About Ubuntu.
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'dpkg -l PKGNAME | cat' or by
checking in Synaptic.
3) What happened and what you expected to happen.

The Ubuntu community has also created debugging procedures for a wide
variety of packages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures .
Following the debugging instructions for the affected package will make
your bug report much more complete. Thanks!

and UUID to the new mapping table, but leaves the other columns NULL,
specifically 'deleted'.

In Folsom, an ec2 describe instances call will check that the
instances.id - uuid mapping exists in the instances_id_mapping table
and create one if it does not find one.

The query that checks the instances_id_mapping table has a 'deleted=0'
constraint. In this case, all of the copied mappings have a NULL value
here. Finding no mapping, it creates a new one and throws the whole
thing off.

It makes sense that this works fine on fresh Folsom installs, because
new instances get a new mapping created in this empty table with the
appropriate columns filled.

There is still a relationship between instances.id and
instance_id_mappings.id, and the duplicate entries being created in the
mapping table throws that relationship off (after the table has
duplicate entires created, new instances EC2 IDs are also off). I'm not
sure if there needs to be a FK constraint between instances.id and
instance_id_mappings.id to ensure that relationship is in-tact, even if
the mappings table is being polluted with duplicates.

[Bug 1061166] Re: ec2 instance IDs are broken after folsom upgrade

2012-10-04 Thread Andrew Glen-Young
The loose relationship between two auto_incrementing `id` columns of
different tables is insanely brittle. I am not convinced that the
intention was for the relation to work this way. It may simple be a
problem with part of the code referencing `id` instead of `uuid`.

The uuid's in the `instances_id_mapping` should, at the minimum, include
a unique constraint.

- This is the error I get in syslog after autofs start. I have some issues
- with autofs not working, and that can be the case.
+ By default installed autofs, fails to parse the default/unmodified

+ fails if it doesn't find automount stanza in the nsswitch.conf, and by

+ the flex parser to accept nsswitch.conf without an automount stanza as a
+ valid configuration file (empty from the autofs point of view) which
+ then makes is gracefully fallback to the files stanza as expected.

[Bug 1061977] Re: Machine fails to commission when console=ttyS0 is present on kernel opts

2012-10-04 Thread Scott Moser
OK. So, heres a summary of the problem.

 * system boots with 'console=tty1 console=ttyS0'
 * system may not actually have a serial device (see mesg for more info)
 * kernel output does get to video console (and ttyS0 locations on systems
where that is available)
 * all cloud-init jobs have 'console output', and some run successfully, but
then one fails.
 * echo HI MOM | sudo tee /dev/console
results in:
   tee: /dev/console: Input/output error
 * starting job afterwards as 'start cloud-init-final' will die immediately
   running the same thing it *would* run by hand (but with output not to
/dev/console) will run to completion.

So it certainly seems to me that kernel assigned /dev/ttyS0 to
/dev/console and upstarts' stdin and stdout there. and then later that
device 'went bad'.

I was under the impression that kernel went through these and assigned
/dev/console to the last valid entry, but it appears i may be wrong [1]
on that.

[Bug 1007293] Re: nis doesn't work anymore after upgrade to 12.04

2012-10-04 Thread no!chance
I have the same problems since 2012-10-03 on my server. My machine was
upgraded from 10.04 and worked fine, until yesterday. It began with
problems with autofs. And then is saw these problems with nis. My
version of ypbind is already 0.2.0-7ubuntu1.1. The effects are the same
as in Alex's description.

In my install history, the only upgraded package was xdiagnose.

I tried to patch my /etc/init/portmap-wait.conf as suggested in comment #17,
but with no effect.
Is there any possiblity to view the log for this upstart-job? I my logs, I can
only see Binding to YP server .backgrounded. Nothing more.
