[Bug 1082840] Re: ubunt cannot halt correctly without power
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1082840/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 992928] Re: Alt-Backtick Keyboard Shortcut is Hardcoded
Misbehaviour still present in quantal I'm using gnome-fallback session. Seems that keybooard settings are under gsettings now. The magic to get this annoyance fixed is now: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-group ['disabled'] (dconf-editor to the same spot works as well) (the default setting for this is ['AltAbove_Tab']. [Bug 1082853] [NEW] Network Manager not disabled when managed=false
Public bug reported: Network Manager can't seem to deal with having two ethernet ports, with eth0 not managed by it and eth1 managed as pppoe. So I tried to disable Network Manager by via the conf file shown below. But it constantly shows Wired Network Disconnected messages to me, and ifconfig -a sometimes shows two attempts at ppp sessions. ppp0 I set up on eth1, and ppp1 Network Manager is trying to set up. It fails, repeatedly. I want it to go away--I spent forever trying to get it to manage my networks correctly and it just won't, so now I'll be happy to do it myself if I can just get Network Manager to go away. [Bug 1079729] Re: Ubuntu uninstallable on 32GB 3G Nexus 7
It's slow to start and complained about not being a modem. However it has continued loading and now I am at the point of trying to input text at the 'who are you' screen. It will not bring up an on-screen keyboard. The touch screen is working to allow me to get to this screen. The background image is just a series of coloured lines and there are 6 icons at the top right of the screen. One of which is the keyboard, but doesn't respond to any 'touching'. Hope this helps. Update. After fiddling with the icons at top of screen I suddenly managed to get an on-screen keyboard, which is very nice. Currently it's going through installing and applying changes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1079729 Title: Ubuntu uninstallable on 32GB 3G Nexus 7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-nexus7/+bug/1079729/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 861268] Re: text corruption in terminals (xterm, urxvt) and emacs
I'm afraid switching distributions might not help since this is happening on Gentoo as well. The corruption is less pervasive in gnome- terminal, and that's what I've been using for now, but it happens in a number of other applications (like gvim) as well (but in many others it doesn't). I am sort of managing by forcing a redraw by just scrolling the terminal or the text buffer in gvim a bit when it happens, but it's still pretty annoying. 2nd Update. The main screen has loaded, but the loading was slow. The left side and top of the screen is just a pattern, no icons. Just touching areas does bring up windows, hit and miss what you are getting though. Everything is small so trying to navigate is difficult. Tried using a stylus but it does not respond to that. When a window opens it is very clear and all appears in the right places. Tried a re-boot but the top and right icons still just a pattern with NO icons showing. Loading is much faster on re-boot.
