Not sure if this is a problem with openldap or cyrus-sasl2 at this
  point.

Using sasl binding only works with ldapsearch when not using ssl or tls.
If either ssl or tls is used I see this ouput from -d 1 from ldapsearch:

sb_sasl_generic_pkt_length: received illegal packet length of 813957120 bytes
  sasl_generic_read: want=16, got=16

sb_sasl_cyrus_decode: failed to decode packet: generic failure
  sb_sasl_generic_read: failed to decode packet
  ldap_read: want=8 error=Input/output error

  # numResponses: 0
  ldap_result: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)
  tls_write: want=165 error=Connection reset by peer

[Bug 1157919] Re: mount.cifs does not set non-numeric uid

2013-03-25 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

My first thought was that uid is by definition numeric. However,
mount.cifs(8) says:

It may be specified as either a username or a numeric uid.

You haven't included full Ubuntu package version information. Please
could you run the command apport-collect 1157919 on an affected system
to automatically pick this information up and submit it to the bug?

Once done, please change the bug status back to New.

The next step is to check if the latest upstream version still has this
bug by compiling it from source. Are you able to do this, please?

[Bug 1001846] Re: cobbler fails to install with error code 1

2013-03-25 Thread James Page
Hi Bryan

I've marked this bug as 'In Progress' for the time being; cobbler
currently has a pending SRU in proposed and this fix needs to be re-
based ontop of that once it lands (see comments in merge proposal).

In the meantime it would be great if you could populate the bug report
with the information the Stable Release Updates team require before they
will accept a fix into precise-proposed:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

Cheers

James

[Bug 967410] Re: Windows clients cannot connect to shared printers

2013-03-25 Thread Sebastien Bacher
 history.log shows samba:i386 (3.6.3-2ubuntu2.3) being installed, and I
could once again access printer shares from windows. However, this
morning, I could not! The history.log shows 2013-03-23 23:27:26
samba:i386 (3.6.3-2ubuntu2.3, 3.6.3-2ubuntu2.4).

that's strange,

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/2:3.6.3-2ubuntu2.3

only has an upstart script fix,

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/2:3.6.3-2ubuntu2.4

is the one including the fix

are you sure it was working before and that you were having the issue as
described here?

[Bug 1159715] [NEW] winbind_krb5_locator plugin is missing from winbind 3.6.3

2013-03-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I noticed the winbind_krb5_locator.so kerberos plugin is missing from
the samba package. Since I could not find any mention of why it is not
included, I report it as a bug.

We are using winbind to authenticate against a microsoft AD, but use
kerberised NFS4 for the home directories. While winbind is site aware,
MIT kerberos is not without this plugin so nfsv4 mounts result in
service ticket requests outside of the site.

We are using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and winbind 3.6.3-2ubuntu2.4

[Bug 1159715] Re: winbind_krb5_locator plugin is missing from winbind 3.6.3

2013-03-25 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Based on the build logs, it looks like this file is being built but is
not added to the binary package. I can't get to Debian's build log at
the moment, but the file is also missing from the samba package there,
so it seems likely that it's the same issue there.

This bug should probably be verified on Debian and filed there too.

[Bug 1159748] Re: Ramdom apache2 crash in Ubuntu 12.04 (libpthread-2.15.so)

2013-03-25 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Please could you confirm the version of the apache2 package in use at
the time the crash occurred? And have you reproduced this problem on any
other hardware apart from the server affected?

Once you've answered, please change the bug status back to New.

Setting Importance to Medium for now. As apache2 is widely used on 12.04
and I haven't seen any other reports, I think it's reasonable to assume
that this crash does not affect a wide number of Ubuntu users until
others can confirm it.

[Bug 1159818] [NEW] Allow architecture armhf with template ubuntu-cloud when running on ARM

2013-03-25 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
Public bug reported:

Currently it is not possible to use the template ubuntu-cloud with armhf
because i386 and amd64 are hard-coded. It is perfectly valid to use this
template with an armhf image if the host architecture is also ARM.

For example the following commands works successfully (after the modification
of the template to accept armhf of course)
 $ lxc-create -t ubuntu-cloud -n raring-test -- -d -T
https://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/raring/current/raring-server-cloudimg-armhf-root.tar.gz
 -r raring -a armhf

Note: the URL of the tarball is specified on the command line because
ubuntu-cloudimg-query doesn't find an AMI for ARM even if the tarball
exists.

Package: lxc-templates 0.9.0~rc1-0ubuntu1

[Bug 1157274] Re: Nova list_images using image_type parameter does not return expected images

2013-03-25 Thread Luke Wollney
Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a server:
POST /servers passing basic server parameters
2) Create a snapshot of that server:
POST /servers/{id}/action passing basic snapshot parameters
3) Perform a list_images request:
GET /images
4) Notice all base images along with the single snapshot image are returned
5) Perform a list_images request with the images_type parameter set to 'SERVER':
GET /images?images_type=SERVER
6) Notice the same list of images is returned

Hello,
thanks for you quickly support.

I can confirm the apache2 package version, it was the previous one,
2.2.22-1ubuntu1.2

We are using the apache2 prefork version, not the worker.

This issue just happens in one of our servers.

[Bug 1159817] Re: python module lxc failed to import on ARM with: UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0xb5 in position 0: invalid start byte

2013-03-25 Thread Stéphane Graber
I'm currently going on the assumption that we simply got a corrupted
binary out of the armhf buildd. I'm doing a local rebuild to confirm and
if that's the case, will simply push a no-change rebuild.

This assumption is based on the fact that the same python module works
on other architectures and that the binding only got very slightly
changed between ~alpha3 (working on armhf) and ~rc1 (not working on
armhf) with those changes limited to the Container object and not to the
import functions.

[Bug 952185] Re: ~/.pam_environment not parsed by default

2013-03-25 Thread Colin Watson
Applied for my next Debian upload, thanks. Sorry for the delay - I
needed to check the source rather closely to make sure this had no
unintended side-effects, since I recall this being complicated in the
past. But it looks as though this is in fact an otherwise-harmless
simplification of the path that PAM environment data takes through sshd.

Re: [Bug 1132584] Re: cedarview-drm kernel module fails to build on kernel 3.5.x [error: implicit declaration of function 'do_mmap']

2013-03-25 Thread garypeg
I had just tried using the download from Ubuntu and it did not work. I
tried the one on the PB site and it worked! I followed these instructions
however-
http://linuxeeepc.blogspot.com.es/2012/08/lubuntu-on-eeepc-1025c-with-correct.html.

If you have another linux installation be carefu about removing kernels!
It will delete anything you tell it to anywhere on the disk.

I am using GDM and the only thing I want to do that I can not is autohide
the launcher and shrink the auncher icon size. I do not play games so no
comment there.

2013-03-25 Thread Mark Wentland
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 905622 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/905622

The duplicate status is wrong.
1) My bug concerns all modem, not only Huawei E1762.
2) Solution #20 doesn't solve the problem.
3) Complex solution by first resetting USB port, then resetting NM is not a
solution. Could you image to by force, let say, every 60 minutes to reset
wireless card and than to reset NM to keep Wi-fi connection ?
4) On Windows systems problem doesn't exist. It is Linux specific problem.

[Bug 1155467] Re: python2.7 crashed with SIGSEGV in __find_specmb()

2013-03-25 Thread Martin Pitt
ProcMaps shows that your project is using both the deprecated static
Python glib/gobject/gtk bindings, as well as the current gobject-
introspection based bindings. I'm afraid you can't use both at the same
time, as that will trigger all kinds of crashes in libraries. Please
port your project to GI.

[Bug 1159654] [NEW] Crash when highlight-dragging text

2013-03-25 Thread Phazonmutant
Public bug reported:

When I'm browsing online, I unconsciously highlight and deselect random
text on the page. Sometime when I drag the text briefly X will crash.
The crash consistently occurs at the moment the text-drag starts or
right after.

I've tried to reproduce the bug intentionally but can't, but I
consistently get X crashes every 5 hours or so of surfing online. I use
Chromium as my browser if it's relevant.

The Xorg.0.log.old has some details about a segfault at the end, I'm
pretty sure that lines up with the crash.

[Bug 999875] Re: My camera stopped showing video feed since about two weeks ago

dmesg seems to have a lot of private things in it. What should I look for?
For now I found these lines:
[ 14.390031] Linux video capture interface: v2.00
[ 14.633504] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device Laptop_Integrated_Webcam_FHD

/devices/pci:00/:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.4/1-1.4:1.0/input/input17
[ 14.635149] usbcore: registered new interface driver uvcvideo
[ 14.635151] USB Video Class driver (1.1.1)

I tried qv4l2 now. Clicked File - Open Raw Device - chose /dev/video0 -
switched on Show frames and hit the red record button, but still the same
results as described above.

[Bug 1075928] Re: Please, silence IA__gdk_error_trap_pop: assertion `gdk_error_traps != NULL' failed

2013-03-25 Thread aleandro
Hello again. I have got an update in ubuntu 13.04 and I have to say that the
message has disappeared (you can try to use the command gksu in the terminal to
demonstrate it) . At the other side all applications that functioned with gtk
don't start any more. Are you still sure it is a bug related to libcanberra
which regulates the sound?
I cannot give more informations until the next update in raring. For me
cryptkeeper and taskcoach are out of order yet. Could someone suggest other
common gtk applications to test and reproduce this bug?

[Bug 1015819] Re: sb_sasl_generic_pkt_length: received illegal packet length when using ldapsearch and sasl with ssl or tls

+ Exact steps to reproduce.
+
+ [Description]
+
Not sure if this is a problem with openldap or cyrus-sasl2 at this
  point.

Using sasl binding only works with ldapsearch when not using ssl or tls.
If either ssl or tls is used I see this ouput from -d 1 from ldapsearch:

sb_sasl_generic_pkt_length: received illegal packet length of 813957120 bytes
  sasl_generic_read: want=16, got=16
- : 00 7e 02 01 00 78 84 00 00 00 5d 0a 01 02 04 00 .~...x].
+   : 00 7e 02 01 00 78 84 00 00 00 5d 0a 01 02 04 00 .~...x].
sb_sasl_cyrus_decode: failed to decode packet: generic failure
  sb_sasl_generic_read: failed to decode packet
  ldap_read: want=8 error=Input/output error

  # numResponses: 0
  ldap_result: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)
  tls_write: want=165 error=Connection reset by peer
  tls_write: want=165 error=Bad file descriptor
