Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed More details here: http://curl.haxx.se/docs/sslcerts.html curl performs SSL certificate verification by default, using a bundle of Certificate Authority (CA) public keys (CA certs). If the default bundle file isn't adequate, you can specify an alternate file using the --cacert option. If this HTTPS server uses a certificate signed by a CA represented in the bundle, the certificate verification probably failed due to a problem with the certificate (it might be expired, or the name might not match the domain name in the URL). If you'd like to turn off curl's verification of the certificate, use the -k (or --insecure) option. I looked into synaptic and ca-certificates and ca-certificates-java are installed. I also verified that all installed the files are there and everything was in place. After that i reinstalled both packages and after that it worked: * About to connect() to cloud-images.ubuntu.com port 443 (#0) * Trying 91.189.88.141... connected * successfully set certificate verify locations: * CAfile: none CApath: /etc/ssl/certs * SSLv3, TLS handshake, Client hello (1): * SSLv3, TLS handshake, Server hello (2): * SSLv3, TLS handshake, CERT (11): * SSLv3, TLS handshake, Server key exchange (12): * SSLv3, TLS handshake, Server finished (14): * SSLv3, TLS handshake, Client key exchange (16): * SSLv3, TLS change cipher, Client hello (1): * SSLv3, TLS handshake, Finished (20): * SSLv3, TLS change cipher, Client hello (1): * SSLv3, TLS handshake, Finished (20): * SSL connection using DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA * Server certificate: * subject: O=cloud-images.ubuntu.com; OU=Domain Control Validated; CN=cloud-images.ubuntu.com * start date: 2012-07-12 13:57:09 GMT * expire date: 2013-07-14 07:49:21 GMT * subjectAltName: cloud-images.ubuntu.com matched * issuer: C=US; ST=Arizona; L=Scottsdale; O=GoDaddy.com, Inc.; OU=http://certificates.godaddy.com/repository; CN=Go Daddy Secure Certification Authority; serialNumber=07969287 * SSL certificate verify ok. [Bug 1188630] Re: package nagios3-cgi 3.2.3-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 2
Thanks for reporting this. I was able to reproduce the bug, the problem seems to be with nagios3-cgi trying to remove some files that were already deleted, either accidentally or by some previous operations. As a workaround, can you try to manually create the files it asks you (as empty files), and uninstall it again? Some better management of the uninstall process should be required, in order to don't crash if the files don't exist. ** Changed in: nagios3 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: nagios3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nagios3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1188630 Title: package nagios3-cgi 3.2.3-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nagios3/+bug/1188630/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1188887] Re: package php5-mysql 5.4.15-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Hello, Did not have the package on system previously. It was installed on adding the Mythtv plugins options. After install got error message regarding mythmusic and a couple of the other plugins in regards to php5-mysql. Did some web searching for these errors and one suggested doing a forced install of php5-mysql. On trying to do the forced installed, received first error message about missing mysqli.ini files. Tried system search for the file and it was nowhere on the system. Created blank version and added it to the above directory. Then got same error message about missing mysql.ini so added blank version of it as well. Performed forced install of php5-mysql with no further issues seen and previous error messages for MythTV plugins also cleared. [Bug 1189521] [NEW] ifdown thinks interface is not up
Public bug reported: on 13.04 image on azure $ cat /etc/cloud/build.info build_name: server serial: 20130601 $ lsb_release -c Codename: raring A couple things wrong/weird: * ifdown says the interface isn't configured (but it clearly is) * something ran 'start networking' rather than letting the networking come up on its own as a result of configuration in /etc/network/interfaces and network-interface.conf * dhclient is dead (seems to not like the lease response?) * static-networking-up has (probably) not been emitted as it would be emitted based on eth0 coming up correctly (through /etc/network/if-up.d/upstart) I'm moderately surprised that there is not other fallout of this. It seems to work, but I'm sure something is broken by the odd state. $ ifconfig eth0 eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:15:5d:43:c5:1e inet addr:10.215.48.61 Bcast:10.215.49.255 Mask:255.255.254.0 inet6 addr: fe80::215:5dff:fe43:c51e/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:16218 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:14676 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:4162337 (4.1 MB) TX bytes:4972499 (4.9 MB) $ sudo ifdown eth0 ifdown: interface eth0 not configured $ grep ^[^#] /etc/network/interfaces auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp $ ps axw | grep dhc 49213 pts/2S+ 0:00 grep dhc $ for f in /var/log/upstart/network*; do echo === $f ===; ls -l $f; sudo cat $f; done === /var/log/upstart/networking.log === -rw-r- 1 root root 511 Jun 10 12:33 /var/log/upstart/networking.log Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Client 4.2.4 Copyright 2004-2012 Internet Systems Consortium. [Bug 1178721] Re: multipathd fails to create mappings when multipath.conf is present
Thank you for your help. I wasn't aware of the limitation (incompatibility) caused by co-deploying LVM and multipath, it was my assumption that multipath would be configured to take precedence over LVM for having PVs on multipath block devices, as having it the other way around, as in multiple paths over LVM logical volumes would not make sense. I can assume that this would be a pretty common scenario, as for example, you may have one volume mapped from SAN over FC on which the tools that LVM offers would be valuable. It would seem that a simple check at boot time, checking whether LVM and multipath are co-deployed, starting multipath first, letting it create paths and then adding those found to LVM's filter. I understand however that this is in no way common usage and requires a skillful enough administrator to be aware of the possible scenarios caused. Regarding the multipath config itself, this is the default config, functionally the same as the one proposed for MSA2012fc by HP. The virtual one is of course bogus... not to be used, just to demonstrate the failure mode. The actual servers will have a dual-port FC HBA with each port going to separate zones on a switch, with itself being connected with 2 cables each to the 2 controllers (4 in total) of the SAN, so there will be 2 paths for each volume. This is required for this SAN in order to have redundancy for controller failure. I just tried this with the physical server, and it still doesn't work as it should. In lvm.conf, blacklisted all the sd* devices and allowed only /dev/disk/by-id. Or should even the id's of the MP volumes be blacklisted, only allowing the one single PV's id? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to multipath-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1178721 Title: multipathd fails to create mappings when multipath.conf is present To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/1178721/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

There is no way to sense the priorities of the paths for this SAN, wouldn't that mean that if one path were lost, some of the IO would get lost as well, or would the protocol sense that and retry. [Bug 796206] Re: Libreoffice crashes randomly - error log file points to Java Runtime Environment
2013JUN10: My LibreOffice Writer keeps crashing, and it's come to the point where I cannot progress at all. I've searched and found what others have done to try to cure the problem, like re-installing, but these have not helped. One UbuntuGenius (I don't say this sarcastically) said that Linux users have traditionally used LibreWriter for small documents, so the problem may be the size of my document. Well, my document is only 27.8kB, and if true, it would appear that MSWord is the better application to use. Please help .. I understand this problem hasn't been solved in the 2 years since it first surfaced, but please help if you can. [Bug 1154006] Re: 12.04 freezes many times daily
Sooo... after months of wrestling with this, a problem I thought I had ruled out is indeed the problem. If I unplug my laptop and run it with just the battery, NO FREEZES. Of course the battery will only last so long. But the moment I plug the beast back in, it freezes. I swapped a/c adaptors, power bar and tried a different wall outlet. The jack on the laptop itself doesn't seem to be loose, so I can only conclude that it's something on the motherboard and I think it'd be cheaper to scrap it than to have it fixed. So, dude, I'm gettin' a Dell. about 150 bucks in Japan, new, for their bottom-of-the-line model. Sigh. For anyone else suffering random freezes, good luck. I'm going to retire from this thread. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1154006 Title: 12.04 freezes many times daily To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1154006/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1169961] Re: bt devices lost with no way to recover them
So, fifth day starting: - still running v3.10-rc4-saucy with an up-to-date raring, - bt dongle moved around (back and forth) between screen's hub and PC, - several 'phablet-flash' commands run I can't diagnose the usb errors mentioned in the previous comments (error -71), but basically, while the bt devices are still lost under certain conditions (more about that below), they always come back so at least the issue is not critical for me anymore. The bt devices are still lost from time to time but after they get rediscovered and are seen as new by X11 after some time (it's hard to be precise here, the order is tens of seconds). When this happens, I have to issue 'xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap' and '~/.xprofile' to restore my own settings which is inconvenient but far less than having to reboot ;) I think the 'phablet-flash' issue is only revealing some unrelated issue, possibly in the screen's usb hub but the issue this bug is about seem to be addressed in v3.10-rc4-saucy. Feedback or advices about how to refine the diagnosis highly welcome. I'm a bit hesitant to tag the bug 'kernel-fixed-upstream' without better understanding. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169961 Title: bt devices lost with no way to recover them To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1169961/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
