[Bug 1189647] Re: should use --with-rpcinfo-command=/usr/sbin/rpcinfo on 12.04

2013-07-05 Thread Colin Watson
Hello Jamie, or anyone else affected,

Accepted nagios-plugins into precise-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nagios-
plugins/1.4.15-5ubuntu3.2 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

Re: [Bug 1197754] [NEW] lxc-start-ephemeral -d is racy

2013-07-05 Thread Serge Hallyn
Quoting Robie Basak (1197...@bugs.launchpad.net):
 Public bug reported:

A script cannot call lxc-start-ephemeral and get a named container in a
 reliable, race-free way.

Having the caller specify a name directly is racy, since the name could
have been taken in between checking that it doesn't exist already and
 calling lxc-start-ephemeral.

Practically speaking, have you actually created the container name with
mktemp (i.e. mktemp -u -t lxc-XX | sed 's@/tmp/@@') and gotten name
clashes?

Allowing lxc-start-ephemeral allows it to take care of the mkdir (and
retries) to generate an LXC container name in a race free manner, but
this needs -d to return the name in a machine-readable way, so that we
can create ephemeral LXC containers from scripts.

 Please add a machine-readable mechanism to lxc-start-ephemeral -d and
then we can modify adt-virt-lxc to use it.

That does sound like a good idea - we could add a '--terse' suboption to
-d to only print '$name $ip'

No, but eyebrows were raised on my approach of generating a random name
on code review, so that's why I filed this bug.

  Please add a machine-readable mechanism to lxc-start-ephemeral -d and

[Bug 1197380] Re: Memory leak when using rabbitmq-server

2013-07-05 Thread Simon MacMullen
Umm, with the shell fragment posted, you have the receiver started
outside the while true loop. Therefore the shell will never start the
receiver, and messages back up inside RabbitMQ until memory is
exhausted.

You can verify this with rabbitmqctl list_queues or the management
plugin web UI.

[Bug 1198251] [NEW] zookeeper package should include logrotate config for /var/log/zookeeper

2013-07-05 Thread Andrew Glen-Young
Public bug reported:

Currently zookeeper's log files grow without limit which can cause a
machine to eventually run out of disk space.

The zookeeper package should include a logrotate script or configure
log4j (whichever is most appropriate) to rotate the log files.

We currently use the following logrotate config:

/var/log/zookeeper/*.log {
weekly
rotate 52
copytruncate
delaycompress
compress
notifempty
missingok
}

[Bug 1197884] Re: apache2.2 SSL has no forward-secrecy: need ECDHE keys

2013-07-05 Thread RichardNeill
Thanks for your assistance.

Can I ask why you think this is merely a wishlist item?

If I've understood the import of this correctly, then the privacy of
every visitor to every website served by Apache on every version(*) of
Ubuntu is at risk. I don't think that forward-secrecy in SSL is an
optional extra; I think it's a requirement. Also, in my view, server
administrators who deploy https are making an implicit promise to their
site's visitors - and this is a promise which they cannot honour.

(*)even Saucy doesn't have 2.4 packages yet, though 2.4 is in Debian,
Mageia, and Fedora.

Thats odd; by default zookeeper uses a rolling log file appended which
should at most write 2 x 10MB files to disk.

Which version of zookeeper/ubuntu do you see this issue with?

[Bug 1196518] Re: lxc-start failed with lxc_cgroup - Invalid argument - write /sys/fs/cgroup/devices/lxc/NAME/devices.deny : Invalid argument with kernel 3.10

2013-07-05 Thread Serge Hallyn
I'm testing this patch to solve the issue. So far it works on my
simplest case. I will run the lxc testsuite to check for some
regressions.

[Bug 1179015] Re: Ubuntu 13.04 kernel oops with Nvidia 319.17

2013-07-05 Thread Aurelijus Pitrėnas
Finaly it got fixed. Now my setup is:
Bumblebee 3.2.1
linux-kernel 3.8.0-26-generic
Nvidia 325.08

I had to repackage bumblebee-nvidia package to work around dependencies
problem (it allways wants older nvidia driver version like 310 or 313).

So I think this bug may be marked as fixed.

[Bug 1198058] [NEW] Grouper: Multiple pulseaudio processes when the libandroid-audiosystem-asound plugin is used as a sink.

2013-07-05 Thread Luke Yelavich
Public bug reported:

 affects ubuntu/android-audiosystem

When logged into a shell, either via SSh or via adb on grouper hardware,
I noticed 3 pulseaudio processes running. Further examination and
experimentation showed that disabling the android sinks in
/etc/pulse/default.pa returned things to normal, i.e only 1 pulseaudoi
process was running after a reboot.

I suspect this is the same situation on other nexus hardware, but I only
have access to grouper, so am unable to confirm.

[Bug 1198060] [NEW] usb creator constantly crashes during installing bootloader

2013-07-05 Thread Alex Chubaty
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to 13.04 several months ago, I have yet to successfully
create a USB startup disk on any of my computers.

usb-creator consistently crashes before finishing making the live usb,
and the usb does not work properly afterward. Additionally, usb-creator
leaves the loopback device mounted, requiring manual dismounts.

[Bug 1183293] Re: NULL pointer access

2013-07-05 Thread jose
I just left a comment here about this same bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-cpufreq/+bug/797996 . Ill quote myself
anyway...
So, I had this bug too. This happens when you disable Cool n Quiet from the
BIOS in AMD systems (or if you enable HW thermal control, I'm not sure. I just
have one AMD system, so I can't say much about other people...). When you do
that, the file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor will
disappear, and the program will (obviously) not be able to find it, so it
crashes...
I hope it helps.

2013-07-05 Thread HRJ
Public bug reported:

Terminology is a new terminal emulator.

http://www.enlightenment.org/p.php?p=about/terminology

It emulates a slightly extended vt100 with some extensions and bling
thrown in.

Most escapes supported by xterm, rxvt etc. work
Xterm 256 color escapes work
Backgrounds (bitmap, scalable/vector, animated gif, videos)
Transparency
Bitmap and scalable fonts supported
Themes for the layout and design
URL, file path and email address detection and link-handling
Inline display of link content
Multiple copy and paste selections and buffer support
Works in X11
Works in Wayland
Works directly in the linux framebuffer (fbcon)
Can be finger/touch controlled
Scan scale by UI scaling factors
Can render using OpenGL or OpenGL-ES2 (not a requirement - just an option)
Can display inlined media content (images, video, documents)
Can do multiple tabs
Can do splitting into multiple panes
Block text selection
Drag and drop of text selections and links
Can stream media from URLs
Tab switcher has live thumbnail content

[Bug 969489] Re: lightdm tries (and fails) to start too early?

2013-07-05 Thread Michele Dall'Arno
I run Ubuntu 13.04 on Thinkpad W530 with 256GB SSD. After upgrading to
kernel 3.8.0-26 I have a black screen with cursor in place of lightdm.
Lightdm works well if I boot with elder kernels.

The solutions of posts #5 (sleep 10) and #48 (respawn) are useless, the
solution of post #12 (and stopped udevtrigger) freezes the system. Any
ideas?

[Bug 1034679] Re: debian-installer section not mirrored in *-updates dists

2013-07-05 Thread Adam Conrad
As a note, I'm uploading this to quantal but not raring because it's an
arch:all package that is identical in both series' (despite the version
number being different currently). I'll copy the Q binaries to R and
verify on both, but there's no reason to build it twice.

** Description changed:

- debmirror ignores debian-installer sections when mirroring *-updates
- dists. I'm running debmirror 1:2.10ubuntu1 on Precise.
+ [ Impact ]
+ Mirroring Ubuntu with debmirror skips debian-installer updates in the
-updates pocket, due to a Debian change to skip *-updates because they don't
publish d-i updates to their updates suites, while we do.
+
+ [ Test Case ]
+ See original report.
+
+ [ Regression Potential ]
+ Not so much a regression potential as it is that people mirror Debian on
Ubuntu will need to pass --skip-installer=$foo,$bar to skip attempting to
mirror d-i under certain circumstances, though many people have never been able
to reproduce the behaviour that led to this upstream change in the first place.
+
+ [ Original Report ]
+ debmirror ignores debian-installer sections when mirroring *-updates dists.
I'm running debmirror 1:2.10ubuntu1 on Precise.

To reproduce, try to mirror precise and precise-updates like this:

  debmirror -a amd64 -s main,main/debian-installer -d precise,precise-updates \
- --method rsync --verbose /tmp/debmirror
+ --method rsync --verbose /tmp/debmirror

Notice that dists/precise/main/debian-installer exists, but dists
  /precise-updates/main/debian-installer does not.

I think the culprit is this bit of code in the debmirror script that
instructs debmirror to skip debian-installer mirroring for any dist that
  contains the string -updates:

  sub di_skip_dist {
-   my $dist=shift;
-   if ( $dist =~ /.*-updates/ ||
-defined($skip_installer{$dist}) ) {

Re: [Bug 856776] Re: Cannot declare itself as another username with CUPS server

2013-07-05 Thread Ketil Malde
I can't believe this is still in. Is CUPS unused in enterprise
 environments?

In my opinion, CUPS is good infrastructure, but it needs a bit of love
with documentation and user interaction and so on. Which it somehow
isn't getting, and it puzzles me why - most other system critical stuff
seems to attract developers more or less automatically...

[Bug 1198080] [NEW] Krusader crashes after pressing F5 or ESC

2013-07-05 Thread WoodyEckelzone
Public bug reported:

After the latest KDE updates of aroun 1 jukli 2013, Krusader started crashing
after
Reproducible.
When build from sources: open about KDE - escape - crash

The program 'krusader' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
   (Details: serial 1570 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0)
   (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
