Re: [Bug 1197754] [NEW] lxc-start-ephemeral -d is racy
Quoting Robie Basak (1197...@bugs.launchpad.net): Public bug reported: A script cannot call lxc-start-ephemeral and get a named container in a reliable, race-free way. Having the caller specify a name directly is racy, since the name could have been taken in between checking that it doesn't exist already and calling lxc-start-ephemeral. Practically speaking, have you actually created the container name with mktemp (i.e. mktemp -u -t lxc-XX | sed 's@/tmp/@@') and gotten name clashes? Allowing lxc-start-ephemeral allows it to take care of the mkdir (and retries) to generate an LXC container name in a race free manner, but this needs -d to return the name in a machine-readable way, so that we can create ephemeral LXC containers from scripts. Please add a machine-readable mechanism to lxc-start-ephemeral -d and then we can modify adt-virt-lxc to use it. That does sound like a good idea - we could add a '--terse' suboption to -d to only print '$name $ip' -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197754 Title: lxc-start-ephemeral -d is racy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autopkgtest/+bug/1197754/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1198251] [NEW] zookeeper package should include logrotate config for /var/log/zookeeper
Public bug reported: Currently zookeeper's log files grow without limit which can cause a machine to eventually run out of disk space. The zookeeper package should include a logrotate script or configure log4j (whichever is most appropriate) to rotate the log files. We currently use the following logrotate config: /var/log/zookeeper/*.log { weekly rotate 52 copytruncate delaycompress compress notifempty missingok } ** Affects: zookeeper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to zookeeper in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1198251 Title: zookeeper package should include logrotate config for /var/log/zookeeper To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zookeeper/+bug/1198251/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1197884] Re: apache2.2 SSL has no forward-secrecy: need ECDHE keys
Thanks for your assistance. Can I ask why you think this is merely a wishlist item? If I've understood the import of this correctly, then the privacy of every visitor to every website served by Apache on every version(*) of Ubuntu is at risk. I don't think that forward-secrecy in SSL is an optional extra; I think it's a requirement. Also, in my view, server administrators who deploy https are making an implicit promise to their site's visitors - and this is a promise which they cannot honour. (*)even Saucy doesn't have 2.4 packages yet, though 2.4 is in Debian, Mageia, and Fedora. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197884 Title: apache2.2 SSL has no forward-secrecy: need ECDHE keys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1197884/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I just left a comment here about this same bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-cpufreq/+bug/797996 . Ill quote myself anyway... So, I had this bug too. This happens when you disable Cool n Quiet from the BIOS in AMD systems (or if you enable HW thermal control, I'm not sure. I just have one AMD system, so I can't say much about other people...). When you do that, the file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor will disappear, and the program will (obviously) not be able to find it, so it crashes... [Bug 969489] Re: lightdm tries (and fails) to start too early?
I run Ubuntu 13.04 on Thinkpad W530 with 256GB SSD. After upgrading to kernel 3.8.0-26 I have a black screen with cursor in place of lightdm. Lightdm works well if I boot with elder kernels. As a note, I'm uploading this to quantal but not raring because it's an arch:all package that is identical in both series' (despite the version number being different currently).
