[Bug 509647] Re: [MIR] lxc
I reviewed lxc 0.9.0-0ubuntu18 as checked into saucy. This is not a complete security audit but only a quick gauge of code cleanliness. I previously reviewed lxc (0.9.0~rc1-0ubuntu3), details here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/509647/comments/4 The code quality of the Python bindings has improved drastically. The lock ordering with lxc_container_free() has been addressed. Well done on both counts. Many of the less-important problems I found are still available to be fixed (an opportunity for someone who is looking to get started in contributing to Ubuntu, perhaps) but one issue remains that is still a blocker for main: most binaries are lacking one or more of the security hardening tools offered by the toolchain. So: Please enable PIE, stack protection, and immediate binding for all binaries. This is the final hurdle. :) Thanks ** Changed in: lxc (Ubuntu) Assignee: Seth Arnold (seth-arnold) = (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/509647 Title: [MIR] lxc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/509647/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Hello Christopher, *I am sorry to disappoint you but it has been so long since I logged that error that I have now reinstalled Ubuntu. This installation is working fine. When I logged on Ubuntu came to a halt on the 5 dots screen (with the Ubuntu logo). I tried restarting the system several time to no avail. Since I needed to get some work done urgently I installed another copy of Ubuntu 12.04 on the same system, the setup let me create another partition. Now I am running two systems on the same machine. All my software is installed in 12.10, and I would greatly like to gain access to it again please. Upon the behest of internet forums I have tried running fsck, tried the boot-repair, tried boot-repair with uncommenting GFX mode all to no avail. I am currently logged into the same machine but on Ubuntu 12.04. Is there any way I can gain access to 12.10 again? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you. [Bug 1010683]
I just tried 3.11-rc3, with the important difference that I kept both cards active when suspending. When resuming, the backlight now came on for a second but the screen then turned dark again. Looking at the logs, the failure now seems less catastrophic than before. Could it be that if I disable one card before suspending (using vgaswitcheroo), the resume code unsuccessfully tries to power up the previously disabled card? Also, I don't seem to get any dpm options in /sys for the discrete card (the 5650), but that's a separate bug I guess. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1010683 Title: ATI Resume from Suspend leads into black screen (VGA_Switcheroo) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1010683/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1208719] [NEW] No progress bar for unread mail across Thunderbird launcher
Public bug reported: This was supposedly fixed in today's Stable Release Update, but is unchanged. I have been following #1171663 and we were informed that today's release would fix the problem. [Bug 990129] Re: Suspend/Resume hangs and fails - Ubuntu 12.04LTS
I should also add that I've attempted a kernel upgrade and am now running 3.8.0-27 but this issue is still persistant. I've swapped back to LightDM which has also changed nothing in terms of suspend. I've found that after booting, i'm able to suspend and resume successfully once, and then after that, when attempting to suspend my laptop, the screen goes black, and the backlight remains on, with the laptop not going into suspend (the power light does not swap to amber and start glowing, it stays green). When this happens, I must force power off the laptop by holding the power button for 10 seconds and then turning it on again. I've done a lot of research over the last week, and there seem to be quite a few forum posts and bugs open with regards to the suspend issues on Ubuntu 12.04+ with varying degrees of success on fixing it (Some people have custom scripts, others have kernel upgrades, others have no success with any of these fixes) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990129 Title: Suspend/Resume hangs and fails - Ubuntu 12.04LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/990129/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
