Hi,

I don't seem able to get gdb to tell me where the failures are. If
possible, could you install qemu-kvm-dbgsym (see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash#Debug_Symbol_Packages if
needed), fire up such a VM, attach to it with gdb (gdb -p $pid) then
print the addresses in question:

[Bug 1216968] [NEW] mount.cifs does not honor 'users' fstab option

2013-08-26 Thread Vladimir Vitkov
Public bug reported:

I am attempting to allow a roaming client to manually mount as a user a
samba share. but unfortunately mount.cifs (and mount.smbfs) does not
honor the option in fstab.

/etc/fstab:
//stor.lan/storage  /mnt/stor.lan   cifs
users,noauto,guest,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8 0 0

the users option is supposed to allow manual mounting of filesystems by
the users themselves.

The share in this case is not required to be permanently mounted but on demand
(done by the user via a shortcut).
No sudo is not acceptable (at least in our environment)
Yes i am aware of intr and bg options but this is not feasible with our setup.

mount.cifs/mount.smbfs should honor the users option in fstab (or the
handler invoking it should)

[Bug 1171418] Re: MAAS fails to power up machines when trying to install nodes

2013-08-26 Thread Chris Long
Hi All.
I'm completely new to posting here so please forgive my inexperience.
Here's my problem and fix in cli however what I wish to do is add this fix to
the ipmi.template so that maas will work correctly.
This is while running maas on a HP Blade server C7000 series with ProLiant
BL2x220c G5 server blades - iLo 2.0

non working example:
ipmipower -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --stat
10.200.0.36: authentication type unavailable for attempted privilege level

working example:
ipmipower -D LAN_2_0 -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --stat
10.200.0.36: off

Another which controls power on and off:
ipmipower -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --on
10.200.0.36: authentication type unavailable for attempted privilege level

ipmipower -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --off
10.200.0.36: authentication type unavailable for attempted privilege level

working example:
ipmipower -D LAN_2_0 -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --on
10.200.0.36: ok

ipmipower -D LAN_2_0 -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p kC17O6xZ --off
10.200.0.36: ok

So where and how do I add -D LAN_2_0 to enable the IPMI commands to
work within MAAS? I'm sure other people will be experiencing this
particular issue.

Do I add anything to either of these files?
/usr/share/pyshared/provisioningserver/power/templates/ipmi.template
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/provisioningserver/power/templates/ipmi.template

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1181777] Re: kvm: freeze a guest with a NIC PCI passthrough

2013-08-26 Thread Serge Hallyn
An ipxe package is building in ppa:serge-hallyn/virt which has a newer
broadcom driver. See https://launchpad.net/~serge-hallyn/+archive/virt
for details.

When it builds, please grab kvm-
ipxe_1.0.0+git-3.55f6c88-0ubuntu2.12.04.1~ppa1_all.deb (and, if you have
ipxe itself installed, also
ipxe_1.0.0+git-3.55f6c88-0ubuntu2.12.04.1~ppa1_all.deb) and install them
with 'dpkg -i', and let us know if that fixes the hang. If you need
more detailed instructions, please let me know and I will send them as
soon as the ppa has built the packages.

Thank you!

[Bug 1126513] Re: [MIR] usbredir-0.6-1

2013-08-26 Thread Seth Arnold
Serge, it depends upon the details of libvirtd implementation. libvirtd
could create a new, unique bridge for every guest that will use
usbredir. Or, libvirtd could insert iptables rules to allow access to
usbredir to only specific guests.

Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.

[Bug 1215918] Re: import failure when using a project name with dashes with QML Extension Library + Tabbed Touch UI

upstream was that dash does not qualify as valid in module names.

2013-08-26 Thread Zoltan Balogh
I have checked how QtC validates the QML Extension project and module
names. The validator regular expression
'^[A-Za-z0-9]+([A-Za-z0-9-]*[A-Za-z0-9]+)?(\.[A-Za-z0-9]+([-A-Za-z0-9]*[A-Za-z0-9]+)?)*$'

This bug on my Maja is still there.
When I unhold package python-software-properties,

the bug affects again.
That same is with pycurl - 7.19.0.x package.
Downgraded works. New don't.

[Bug 998367] Re: fingerprint login in ubuntu 12.04 can't access encrypted home user account

2013-08-26 Thread Shang Wu
I am using 13.04 with the fingerprint-gui 1.05 (from
https://launchpad.net/~fingerprint/+archive/fingerprint-gui)

At the last step of the fingerprint password creation, you will need a
removable media to store the password, which will solve this issue. I
believe this might be the workaround at the moment.

[Bug 1216788] [NEW] #!/usr/bin/python files and similar variants are not shown as executable files

2013-08-26 Thread Sworddragon
Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 dev with shared-mime-info 1.1-0ubuntu4. For a few days
after upgrading the system I have noticed that python-files aren't shown as
executable files anymore. I have already opened a bug report on upstream for
this: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68494
But I'm not sure if this is really a bug in shared-mime-info because after
downgrading shared-mime-info, PCManFM and libfm to the versions from Ubuntu
13.04 (libfm-data, libfm-gtk-bin, libfm-gtk-data, libfm-gtk3, libfm3, pcmanfm,
shared-mime-info) and rebooting the system the problem still exists.

[Bug 1215414] Re: CMake path error in Qt 5.1.1

2013-08-26 Thread Timo Jyrinki
Dmitry: No, that patch was actually dropped since seemingly it was
merged upstream.

I considered it and many other upstream changes, but eventually did not
find any single commit to revert to fix the issue. I found the place
where it could be fixed, and overrode the upstream logic by setting the
qt5_MODULE_install_prefix equal to QT_INSTALL_PREFIX. That's also one of
the options in the upstream logic, but somehow something else got
selected now in 5.1.1, unlike in 5.1.

This forcing in qtbase seems to address the issue, I've been now
rebuilding all the 5.1.1 modules in qt5-beta2 and at least the initial
CMake using projects I found failing now all build fine. Let's hope
that's all that there is to it.

Public bug reported:

I have a couple of unusable accounts which I cannot use, edit, or
delete. When I try to edit them, it just says Go online to edit your
personal information. Unfortunately the whole reason I want to edit the
account is because it can't go online. When I try to delete and start
again, I click the Remove Account button, and a window comes up saying
Are you sure that you wish to remove this Ubuntu Web Account?. Then I
click Remove and the following message is written to stderr but
nothing else happens:

Daniel,

What I mean is that after I upgrade from 1:0.9.7.12-0ubuntu1 to
1:0.9.7.12-0ubuntu2, I met the issue which password dialog can't show
up, you can also input the password, then it will login into the

I also find the #1053895 in 0.9.9 might be a fix for our issue.
