[Bug 1228490] Re: Havana novncproxy requires a newer version of websockify
I built the 0.5.1 package from the upstream git repo, it works fine and resolves the issue I have uploaded a test version to my PPA https://launchpad.net/~gdahlman/+archive/havana The upstream source was pulled from git://anonscm.debian.org/openstack/websockify.git Outside of making changes to debian/changelog to make it acceptable for dput it required no changes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228490 Title: Havana novncproxy requires a newer version of websockify To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-archive/+bug/1228490/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Hi, Actually I can no longer reproduce this issue. When I started experiencing this I started using another soundcard instead of the motherboard one. Re: [Bug 1226200] Re: Install/upgrade failure when numix-gtk-theme PPA package present
On Fri, Sep 20, 2013 at 6:38 PM, Pasi Lallinaho p...@shimmerproject.org wrote: If somebody wants to package a single theme separately (which might be up for discussion with the Shimmer packages as well), they are free to do so, but it's their responsibility to take care it's not in conflict with packages in the official repositories, eg. install in a different directory. That's all fine I suppose, but my main concern is that a non-trivial number of user will have issues upgrading to saucy because of this. Numix is a fairly popular theme. A small part of the reason for this popularity is that the upstream project has made it easy for Ubuntu users to install via a PPA. AFAICT, shimmer-themes added Numix during saucy's development. You make it sound as if people started packaging it separately at some point after it was included in shimmer-themes, while in reality it has been available as a standalone package for sometime in the upstream's PPA. Normally, I agrees that it is a PPA's owner's responsibility to take care [their packages are] not in conflict with packages in the official repositories, but it is also the responsibility of the distro packager to work with the upstream. -- Andrew Starr-Bochicchio Ubuntu Developer https://launchpad.net/~andrewsomething Debian Developer http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=asb PGP/GPG Key ID: D53FDCB1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1226200 Title: Install/upgrade failure when numix-gtk-theme PPA package present To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shimmer-themes/+bug/1226200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Furthermore, PPAs are disabled by default on upgrading from e.g. 13.04 to 13.10, so this is not an issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1226200 Title: Install/upgrade failure when numix-gtk-theme PPA package present To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shimmer-themes/+bug/1226200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 968533] Re: Alt-tab to Firefox sends Firefox to 100% CPU; unity-panel-service to 80% CPU and hud-service to 20-80% CPU
The problem may be more difficult. The high load - when switching between apps with Alt-Tab appears randomly. The amount of FF bookmarks in my case is high but do not changing much. Most time I have no problems while running FF and switching to another apps - windows with Alt-Tab. But sometimes happens, that high load (100% on both cores - for many seconds) occurs and stays until I kill FF and log out-in. If it would be caused by bookmarks - then it should happen all time - the same way. Not just occasionally. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968533 Title: Alt-tab to Firefox sends Firefox to 100% CPU; unity-panel-service to 80% CPU and hud-service to 20-80% CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/968533/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1228507] [NEW] Cannot move certain windows via the top half of the titlebar in Ubuntu 13.10
Public bug reported: If I click and hold the mouse button down on the top-half of the titlebar of certain smaller windows (eg update-manager and nautilus' file copy window) in Ubuntu 13.10, the window gets the focus but does not move when you drag the mouse. I have to click on the bottom half of these windows to move them. This is not the case with all windows - eg gnome-terminal doesn't seem to have the problem, no matter how small I make it. Note that if I expand the details panel of update-manager's window, drag-to-move now *does* work. To reproduce: 1. Run update-manager but do not expand on the details panel. 2. Try to move the window by clicking and holding on the top half of the titlebar. It should move, but doesn't. 3. Try to move the window by clicking and holding on the bottom half of the titlebar. It should move as expected. [Bug 1184451] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites
Update: I downgraded back to 13.04 and the problem vanished, thus confirming that one of the upgraded packages is causing it. However, I am still running the 3.11.0-7-generic kernel, so it's something else. One way to uncover the culprit would be to update to 13.10 incrementally just a few packages at a time and see which one brings back the freezes. I don't have much time these next few days but if somebody could try it, it would save all of us a lot of pain (really can't work like this). I will have a go at it next week. The bad news is that I still had a very similar problem to the one described in this Bug with a regular Update (not an Upgrade) in Edgy. I had not connected Kubuntu to the Internet in a while. When I connected it again, Adept found a large number of packages requiring an Update. It crashed and exited with a confusing error message before updating the Linux Kernel Headers to 2.6.17-12, though (sorry, I should have written down exactly what the error message was). I realized that I was probably low on disk space, but the error message did not say that clearly enough. Everything seemed to be OK for the rest of that session. But after restarting, all I got was the Login screen -- after entering any valid User ID and Password, the Kubuntu Desktop would not load, only the Login screen would return. It did not matter what options I selected in the Login screen. I restarted again, and got into Recovery Mode from the GRUB menu. From the Root command prompt, tried to run APT-GET UPDATE, then APT-GET REMOVE WINE to try to make room by removing the WINE package that I was no longer using. I got an error message suggesting that I run APT-GET -f -CLEAN. This time, I got an error message saying, in effect, no room to install Linux Kernel Headers to 2.6.17-12. I rebooted from a Live CD and used a Partition Editor to make the main Linux (/) partition larger. Rebooted again, went back into GRUB Recovery Mode, and ran APT-GET -f -CLEAN again. This time it worked OK. After rebooting once more, I was finally able to log back into the Kubuntu Desktop. If Adept had only warned me that disk space was too low before trying to install the Linux Kernel Headers, I may have been able to save a lot of time. Anyway, after I got my Desktop back, I tried to do the suggested Distribution Upgrade to Feisty, and got a proper error message about low disk space (I still didn't have the over 600 MB that this upgrade would have required). And I still have a working Edgy system. So the Distribution Upgrade part of Adept handled low disk space properly in Edgy, but the regular Update did not. To me, it was as bad as a Crash, because Adept did not exit with the proper error, and the system was effectively stuck at the Login stage after restart. I spent a lot more time recovering from this issue than I would have expected with a merely Wishlist item. I would like to ask that this Bug's severity be upgraded. Thanks in advance for your help. [Bug 1111397] Re: Executable files do not launch in 13.04
We should pay attention to this indeed. This is a radical change for many users acquainted to execute shell scripts or having them written by friends to fix things. Believe me, this happens *all the time*. Changing this behavior without any notice is irresponsible, a very conservative step that disempower users. At the very least, on the first execution of a shell script this way, a dialog should pop-up asking about the user's intention: - do not execute - execute this shell script once and ask again next time - execute any shell script (and/or open preferences) Ideally there could be a per-script configuration that can be tuned this way on first execution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397 Title: Executable files do not launch in 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/397/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1225327] Re: sftp in 12.04 has tty attributes setting problem
Based on Dtucker's debugging and tests, it seems to me when libedit is used, openssh is unable to control the tty settings based on its own needs, so with that in mind, and also the fact sftp on other UNIX or RHEL 5.x has no such problem and no other critical issue caused by not using libedit, the openssh should be packaged without using libedit.
