[Bug 1246229] Re: Error: Puppet::Parser::AST::Resource failed with error TypeError: no implicit conversion from nil to integer at ...

2013-11-08 Thread Hadmut Danisch
I've found a reason on the first machine. Since I use parameterized
classes, puppet did not work without hiera (complains), although I had
not used it.

Since puppet with hiera complains about a missing
/etc/puppet/hiera.yaml, I've made an empty one. That's the problem.

Just writing --- into it solves the problem.

Now I have to check why I got the same error on the second machine...

Thanks. It's clear from your previous comment that there is something
going on and there may be a bug if we can pin down exact steps to
reproduce. Sorry I hadn't followed up on this yet. I appreciate you
investigating this further.

[Bug 1243187] Re: Horizon drops path when redirecting to login page after session expires

2013-11-08 Thread Kymil-arcadia
So this is a real bug right, and not just a missing config? I think
Daniel's comment, while a solid attempt at resolving the problem, makes
this a bit unclear.

I have the config set, and I still have the exact problem described in
the bug report.

/etc/openstack-dashboard/local_settings.py
LOGIN_URL='/horizon/auth/login/'
LOGIN_REDIRECT_URL='/horizon'

Still, when my sessions time out, the browser attempts to go to:
http://myurl.com/auth/logout/?next=/horizon/project/

Instead of:
http://myurl.com/horizon/auth/logout/?next=/horizon/project/

Thanks!!

2013-11-08 Thread Kymil-arcadia
Okay, I think I got this fixed. Maybe this is what Daniel meant to type.

I made the following modification and now the timeout redirect appears
to work as it should.

[Bug 1243187] Re: Horizon drops path when redirecting to login page after session expires

2013-11-08 Thread Daniel Speichert
Thanks Kymil-arcadia for pointing out my mistake - reading my own
comment again I can't figure out the sense of my solution.

So here is the full story:
By default, /etc/openstack-dashboard/local_settings.py has the following lines:

LOGIN_URL='/horizon/auth/login/'
LOGIN_REDIRECT_URL='/horizon/'

It is necessary to change them to:

LOGIN_URL='/horizon/auth/login/'
LOGOUT_URL='/horizon/auth/logout/'
LOGIN_REDIRECT_URL='/horizon/'

Adding that one extra LOGOUT_URL that you also mentioned. Without that
line, Horizon doesn't add the /horizon/ part of the URL, which is
required.

[Bug 1184262] Re: [logind] times out too early, stuck in PrepareForSleep, causing network and other services to not resume

2013-11-08 Thread b3nmore
Indeed, the cutoff point would be 10 minutes (that's the timeout of
the current PPA version). As I wrote, that's just an experimental one
which confirms that this is the problem. The real solution is to
completely disable the timeout until a method call is fully done.

That was my first thought too, when trying to find reproducible
conditions. But in my case 30 minutes are definitive not long enough
(just tested it). I would even say the hibernation period must be longer
than 1h (not tested thoroughly).

Btw, at which point in the hibernation/resume cycle does the timeout
start counting?

[Bug 1249208] Re: Avoid conflicting SuperSpace shortcut with g-s-d

I talked with seb128 and wants to re-evaluate the way of shortcuts
handling, so this is a transitional solution in trusty. We have a chance
to get rid of ibus integration from GNOME in trusty to avoid such odd
situation.

Also SuperSpace isn't really good UX, and might be reverted later.

[Bug 1223057] Re: package qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu-cordova (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/mime/packages/CordovaUbuntuProject.mimetypes.xml', which is also in

2013-11-08 Thread Timo Jyrinki
This is fixed in the PPA since the migration to Qt Creator 2.8 packages.
It was already fixed at the time of this bug report on the packaging
level, but the problem was that the PPA used a wrongly formatted version
number which made the Replaces rule non-functional (except for Ubuntu
archive version).

[Bug 1249219] Re: backlight control acpi_video0 instead intel_backlight

2013-11-08 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1249219/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1249231] [NEW] Evolution locks up occasionally if multiple accounts are scheduled for retrieval

2013-11-08 Thread apinunt
Public bug reported:

I use Linux Mint, currently ver 15, 32 bit, Mate Desktop, and since Ubuntu
changed the default email app from Evolution to Thunderbird, I cannot retrieve
email from each of my accounts automatically and have to request them manually
one at a time.
I had them scheduled to retrieve on a staggered time interval, but when the
interval allows more then one to attempt retrieval at the same time, evolution
hangs and has to be killed manually and restarted.
The only way around this I've found is to manually select the account I wish to
retrieve, and wait for it to complete before selecting another account manually.

Is there some way to schedule retrievals so they will not occur
simultaneously for more than one account?

The two adapters are based on different chipsets so they use different drivers.
I can see the drivers are present and they are correct.
Tried rebooting both the laptop and the router, no effect.
Both adapters worked with Xubuntu 13.04.

Sorry but I cannot provide any detailed information since I am typing
this from another computer, given that the said laptop cannot connect.

[Bug 1243612] Re: system-image-cli support for switching channels

That's a fair approach; also, would it would be useful to expose this in
the UI somehow.

Would also be good to have a way to express that one wants a full
(--build 0 does this), aka clean reinstall, but that would be command-
line only.

[Bug 1249242] [NEW] Performance regression: mir_demo_client_flicker is skipping frames

This is building Mir from development-branch. I've verified the bug

upgrading to trusty). So it looks like a regression at a lower layer...

[Bug 1221654] Re: cpufreq indicator does not work correctly with kernel 3.10.10

2013-11-08 Thread autra
After a bit of digging I found :
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-2179879.html
and
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1188647

So it is because the new intel pstate driver is activated with the new
kernel by default. This driver only has performance and powersave
settings (which should be enough, and they should be better than the old
cpufreq driver).

If you have trouble with this new driver (high cpu consumption, bad
performance), you can add intel_pstate=disable to your boot option.

Marking this as invalid I guess.

[Bug 1249249] [NEW] Force running .click or .deb tests

2013-11-08 Thread Loïc Minier
Public bug reported:

Hey!

There is a dedicated interface, phablet-click-test-setup, to setup AP
tests for Click packages correctly (and the corresponding .deb interface
is built into phablet-test-run) so that one gets exactly the right tests
for testing a Click or a .deb package.

However when testing one or the other, it's not possible to select which
sets of tests to use; e.g. when one has notes-app.deb and notes.click
tests installed, it's not possible to tell phablet-test-run which one to
run.

This feature was requested by Didier as helpful in testing for the CI /
Landing team.

Thanks,

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2013-11-08 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks Norbert for your testing work and your bug reports!

Some comments

 * default Super+Space and Shift+Super+Space does not work (bug
1245136) - the most important bug (it's default hotkey!!!).

That could be bug #1249208. It works here after running ibus-setup and
changing the ibus key to something else

 * non-latin shortcuts are broken (see bug 1226962) - the most important bug
 (affects many multi-layout users),

That bug seems to list several issues. The gsd keybindings, e.g ctrl-
alt-L ... did that ever worked?

I installed 13.04 which has the old stack and tried that:
- added a Russian keymap
- binded ctrl-alt-C to the calculator
- changed the active layout to russian
- hit ctrl-alt-c (or ctrl-alt-l)

That doesn't work ... it seems like that's not a new issue/not due to
the 13.10 changes

Note that keybindings not working in e.g libreoffice is another issue and due
to the GNOME implementation choices, they consider that libreoffice needs to be
fixed, see the first comment on
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55585 which explain that. Note
sure if others applications hit the same issue (gtk does the correct thing so
GTK software are fine, firefox and Qt application seem to not have the issue
either)

 * shortcuts starting with Ctrl+Shift+ got broken if layout switchin set to
Ctrl+Shift (bug 1246656) - the most important bug (affects many multi-layout
 users).

Right, that's a annoying one, the only way to fix it is to move the key
grabbing in unity, we are working on that but it's technically non
trivial and take some time

 * some shortcut combinations started with Win or Alt open a HUD - bug with
 the lowest importance.

That's not a new issue either

[Bug 1249256] [NEW] hp-wmi calls WMI 0x05 instead of WMI 0x1b interfaces in new BIOS

2013-11-08 Thread Alex Hung
Public bug reported:

Some hp systems have faulty wmi 0x05 interfaces (HPWMI_WIRELESS_QUERY);
however, BIOS still reports 0x05 is supported and it will be used in hp-
wmi instead of wmi 0x1b (HPWMI_WIRELESS2_QUERY). This causes rkfill
block and rfkill unblock fail to change the state of wireless devices
in these particular systems.

HP defines wmi 0x05 as This command is deprecated starting with Bios09
platforms and is replaced by Command Type 1Bh. Check Features Reporting
(Command Type 0Dh, Bit 3) for new command support.

[Bug 840987] Re: Implicit quiet on empty GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT

2013-11-08 Thread Sworddragon
Interestingly some time after the report I have noticed this behavior on
my laptop with fglrx too. But after upgrading both systems to the Linux
kernel 3.12 (Ubuntu 14.04 dev with linux-image-generic 3.12.0.2.4) the
bug is gone. I'm seeing the complete output on booting and setting quiet
will suppress it as expected. So it seems this was more a kernel issue
than an issue with grub.

FWIW, a workaround is to switch to a console with Alt+Ctrl+F1 and switch
back with Alt-Ctrl-F7. At least the infinite loop is then interrupted.

2013-11-08 Thread Taihsiang Ho
pm-suspend could reproduce this bug, fail rate is around one out of ten.

steps to reproduce this message instead of using checkbox:
  * boot the system
  * use command pm-suspend, then the system will go to suspend
  * after make sure the system has suspended, click mouse or keyboard to wake
up the system
  * command dmesg | grep PSR to check whether the message pop up
  * if no such message, use command dmesg -C to clean the buffer and do the
steps again from the bullet 2 until you get the message

+
+ [Stable Fix]
+
+ Trivial backport of the upstream fix.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ The only change is in the Python bindings, so API calls involving 64-bit
+ integer parameters are affected. The fix is obviously correct; upstream
+ and Saucy both have it and so this fix has been extensively tested.
+
+ [Details]

Root cause: in the libvirt source, python/generator.py maps unsigned
long long to PyArg_ParseTuple parameter l, instead of L or K.

  Upstream fix:
http://libvirt.org/git/?p=libvirt.git;a=commit;h=d78035d06aab73a76a82c525f41580cf986cce7b
  Development fix: packaged from upstream
Stable fix: a trivial backport of this fix.

 to 654696742695993344: Invalid argument
+
Note that this ignores the signed/unsigned distinction. I think the
correct fix should be K, but upstream are using L, which will
- suffice for Intel architectures. To avoid diverging I think L is
- better for an SRU if we have to do it today. This may break ARM, which
- defaults to different signedness. I will raise this separately with
+ suffice for the actual problem. To avoid diverging I think L is better
+ for an SRU if we have to do it today. I have raised this separately with
  upstream.

[Bug 1248703] Re: CVE-2013-4470

2013-11-08 Thread John Johansen
** Description changed:

- memory corruption with UDP_CORK and UFO
+ The Linux kernel before 3.12, when UDP Fragmentation Offload (UFO) is
+ enabled, does not properly initialize certain data structures, which
+ allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and
+ system crash) or possibly gain privileges via a crafted application that
+ uses the UDP_CORK option in a setsockopt system call and sends both
+ short and long packets, related to the ip_ufo_append_data function in
+ net/ipv4/ip_output.c and the ip6_ufo_append_data function in
+ net/ipv6/ip6_output.c.

@Takashi, does this new patch look good enough for you?

 Hi Kailang,

It does not matter. Choose what works best for you and I'll sort it out
 before sending to Takashi.

 Hi,

 I can certainly rewrite coef_idx to use coefef_idx (I think that's a
good idea), but for the comments, I know as little as you do about
 these
 verbs.

Kailang, is it possible for you to add more comments to your patch
 so it
 can be applied upstream?

 Thanks,

Rewrite alc_read_coef_idx() using this new function, too, e.g.
