[Bug 1010625] Re: named logs are not being reported in logwatch
@Robie: Any progreess here? I noticed that awhile back I had inadvertently changed the status from triaged to confirmed. I am unable to change it back to triaged. Robie, could you please change the status back to triaged? Is there some reason why this has not gone anywhere? Earlier I proposed two possible fixes: 1) Remove the 'LogFile = messages' line completely from all of the aforementioned .conf files. The result will be that the default location(s) will be searched/parsed for messages. The current default is 'All' This is simple and straightforward. Or... 2) Change the 'LogFile = messages' line to 'LogFile = syslog' in all of the aforementioned .conf files. Robie, could you comment on these? Good? Bad? [Bug 1250745] Re: bumblebee recommends non-existing virtualgl package
Although virtualgl isn't yet packaged for Debian/Ubuntu (it's on my todo list), virtualgl works as a drop-in replacement for primus. I've kept the recommendation in case users pick up virtualgl from a 3rd party source (i.e. the Bumblebee PPA), and because it's still recommended as the default bridge by upstream. Also, if anything needs to be fixed in bumblebee/bbswitch/primus, I would really appreciate it if patches were forwarded to me upstream in Debian instead; there's no need to introduce unnecessary diffs... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250745 Title: bumblebee recommends non-existing virtualgl package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bumblebee/+bug/1250745/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
Thank you for your work, William! I installed packages from ppa:attente/modifier-only-input-switch and now: * default Super+Space, Ctrl, Shift works; * non-latin shortcuts work normally; *Ctrl+Shift+C/V, in gnome-terminal work too; in Unity session. [Bug 1174374] Re: libreoffice-calc crashes/hangs desktop on Ubuntu 12.10 and 13.04 when opening a .xlsx file
@Bryan In that case; did you try my instructions Actually, really strange, the bug just disappeared. Even with the Intel graphics, I cannot crash X11 any more. Therefore, I cannot try that fix any more, either. I didn't even change anything, but here is what may have fixed the problem: My machine (Lenovo W500) has two graphics cards, Intel and ATI. I usually use Intel. To troubleshoot this issue, I changed to ATI (via BIOS). After changing back to Intel, the bug was gone from my system. I don't think the reboot did it, as I rebooted before, which didn't fix the problem. Maybe by booting with ATI, some X11 configuration files were changed, that for whatever reason prevented this bug from materializing, even after switching back to Intel. I bricked my phone while trying to update it with system upgrade on the phone (via the UI, not via 'adb shell system-image-cli -c trusty- proposed -b 0 -v). I was running image #15 at the time. I failed to upgrade to image #20 (~260M wow) with an undecipherable error message (mainly because the file name displayed was too long). Since the progress bar behavior was a bit... surprising (went over 100, ~110, oops, let's get back to ~90) I tried again, same error. After several attempts, trying to keep the phone from suspending and watching the progress bar going backwards even before reaching 100, I resigned (I didn't have IRC access at that point to get some feedback). Later in the day, image #17 was proposed. Huh ? Still missing IRC access I thought some bug was detected server side and the images were re- shuffled and happily tried that. Ok, thanks. I just did not want to push this to upstream as I did not know if this really was forgotten. [Bug 1249979] Re: r8169 Ethernet driver doesn't work
Hi, I just tried with 3.12.0-031200-generic and although I don't get the dmesg errors, it doesn't detect the Ethernet cable or does DHCP client work. So, the evidence suggests this isn't entirely fixed upstream yet. uname -a: Linux flibble 3.12.0-031200-generic #201311071835 SMP Thu Nov 7 23:36:07 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Here are the relevant bits of dmesg from the 3.12 kernel: [0.760049] r8169 Gigabit Ethernet driver 2.3LK-NAPI loaded [0.760074] pci :00:06.0: setting latency timer to 64 [0.760321] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [APC3] enabled at IRQ 18 [0.760357] r8169 :01:0a.0 (unregistered net_device): not PCI Express [0.760645] r8169 :01:0a.0 eth0: RTL8169sb/8110sb at 0xc9c72000, 00:21:27:c9:5f:cf, XID 1000 IRQ 18 [0.760648] r8169 :01:0a.0 eth0: jumbo features [frames: 7152 bytes, tx checksumming: ok] [ 11.032543] r8169 :01:0a.0 eth0: link down [ 11.032586] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready The link doesn't go up with the cable plugged in and I can confirm the connection is just fine because it works on the motherboard slot (eth1) still. This happens regardless of the installed ubuntu version. At the moment i have a dual boot of lucid and precise and the bug is still present with the 3.2 linux kernel on precise although it works fine when i boot it with the current lucid kernel. [Bug 1247712] Re: Unable to install Broadcom STA wireless dirver on 3.8.0-33 / 3.8.0-29 kernel via jockey-gtk
Jockey's log confirms that the program simply triggers the problem when unbinding and then rebinding the driver (hence the driver_bind() call in the backtrace), which in turn calls driver_probe_device(), etc. up to local_pci_probe() which is what fails. [Bug 1242029] Re: openjdk-7 crashed while running vuze
I get a very similar crash ( libgobject-2.0.so )when using a brand new Eclipse ADT bundle from Android on a fairly new install of Kubuntu and opening any other directory than the default ~/workspace. I might get it to start with workspace in ~/cordova but then it will crash when importing a project anyways. [Bug 1250759] [NEW] gnome-control-center sound-nua does not change from internal speakers to external soundcard automatically
Public bug reported: The sound is routed through the external soundcard when plugged in, but gnome-control-center sound-nua shows the internal speakers to be active. [Bug 911210] Re: Kernel freeze on Acer Aspire 1510 since Maverick
I tried installing 14.04 via netboot but could not run the Detect Disks step so i was not able to create a root partition. The Detect Network Configuration step also tried to load yenta_socket but i was able to skip it and still had a working network connection. I resorted to installing 14.04 from my working 10.04 install via debootstrap and tested both the stock 14.04 kernel (3.12.0-2-generic) and the latest trusty mainline kernel (3.12.0-031200-generic). On both kernels i get the freeze when either yenta_socket is loaded on boot or from a terminal via modprobe. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/911210 Title: Kernel freeze on Acer Aspire 1510 since Maverick To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/911210/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
