[Bug 1138517] Re: Latest compiz update breaks Java Swing decorations

2013-12-03 Thread Chris Giltnane
Actually this was never really fixed properly, you quite often have to
move the pop-up slightly before you can activate any controls on a pop-
up. You get used to doing that after a while and it easier than getting
a bug fixed in compiz for anything that is not one of Canonicals pet
applications.

[Bug 1255516] Re: Network access broken to some hosts after some usage...

2013-12-03 Thread gadLinux
I'm having less problems with macvtap driver.

It seems that brctl bridges has some kind of problems. I migrated
everything from brctl to macvtap and now it's working without problems.
I had to add a new interface to let host and virtualization communicate
but that's all.

I'm pretty sure that there is a problem on this driver. I have another
machine with precise ubuntu and had much less problems. I wanted to
update but now I don't think it's a good idea. Since it will be
installed as a Compute node of Openstack cloud.

[Bug 965953] Re: Indicator menus are too short and scroll when opened from screen bottom

2013-12-03 Thread Iain Lane
Thanks for the patch - I'm not sure about it though; it seems odd to me
to call gtk_widget_set_size_request() twice, once after an idle delay.
Can you help us to understand what you're trying to achieve here?

I'm subscribing Ted (an indicator-applet developer) in case he can think
of a fix for this bug quickly.

However, I can't make the described issue happen myself. Can someone
give more detailed steps to reproduce it?

[Bug 1138517] Re: Latest compiz update breaks Java Swing decorations

2013-12-03 Thread Colin Law

description at the top is fixed (for me anyway). My comment stands, if
there are still issues then submit a new bug.

James, you said this worked in Ubuntu 12.0.4 LTS, was that with the most
current updates?

[Bug 1257241] [NEW] check_ssh plugin invoked with incorrect parameters

2013-12-03 Thread Simon Murray
Public bug reported:

The configuration file /etc/nagios-plugins/config/ssh.cfg used by
Icinga, which I can only assume is a copy of /usr/share/nagios-plugins
/templates-basic/ssh.cfg as it hads no dpkg entry is trying to execute
'check_ssh $host $arg1'. The parameters have either changed or the
behaviour of the plugin (if it ever worked out the box!) as $arg1
resolves to undef (or '' on the command line) resulting in an empty argv
entry which check_ssh takes offense to

[Bug 965953] Re: Indicator menus are too short and scroll when opened from screen bottom

2013-12-03 Thread Alex Cabal
It shouldn't be hard to reproduce, I noticed it immediately after
upgrading. Just use the gnome classic session, add a bottom panel, and
set the indicator applet on the bottom panel in Precise. The WiFi
indicator is the easiest to reproduce the issue as it updates
frequently. Sound indicator is another example, when it changes tracks.
Try scrubbing left and right across the indicators. The patch above is
a sort of fix, but it adds a new bug where frequently instead of being
too small, the indicator menus become massive and reach nearly to the
top of the screen. I've been living with this bug for a long time as a
bottom panel user of Precise :/

[Bug 1195483] Re: [Asus ZenBook Prime UX31A] Installation, Live and Check disc do not start

2013-12-03 Thread hogart
Yes, I can confirm the message #98 - the update to 3.11.0-14 release
didn't fix the bug in Saucy.

** Description changed:

When I try to install Ubuntu 13.04 on a new Asus ZenBook Prime UX31A
from june 2013, grub will come up bit every option such as Installation,
Live and Check disc result in a blank screen. This is possibly due to
  preinstalled Windows 8 and UEFI.

I did not approve/accept the Windows 8 installation and that should not
matter. I want to install only Ubuntu and *no* dual boot with the
preinstalled Windows 8. I want to erase the entire disc in firsts steps
  of installation procedure.

  Screenshot illustrating the problem are:
  http://i.imgur.com/94zPRh5.jpg (ASUS splash screen)
http://i.imgur.com/CKJZf6s.jpg (language selection for Windows 8)
http://i.imgur.com/2OIGnra.jpg (accept license, which I did not and rebooted
with F1/F2)

http://i.imgur.com/RtjRraF.jpg (used settings to boot from USB)
http://i.imgur.com/Vgb3Xju.jpg (grub which goes to black screen and systems
is locked in that state)

  Debugging attempts from
  https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Boot_Debugging failed. Perhaps I
did something wrong. What are ways to write debug to the screen in my
  case?

And, more importantly, how do I get it working because have the right to
  install whatever I want?

Is the only way to get it installed to accept the Windows 8 license and
install Ubuntu from Windows (and in effect making it dual boot which I
  don't want).

Ubuntu should fix this as it is the flagship of a major laptop manufacturer
(ASUS) for which Ubuntu is no longer installable.

[Bug 1077650] Re: booting from raid in degraded mode ends in endless loop

2013-12-03 Thread Stefan Tauner
this is *not* a duplicate (of bug #728435) as bernd wrote.
i am not entirely sure, because in my case i am also suffering from another
crypto-related bug, but i think lvm2 might be involved too:

mountroot_fail() in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-
premount/lvm2 does never return 0 although scanning for new lvs might
actually fix things and should restart the search for the root device.
but as said i am not sure... initramfs-tools are pretty complicated
regarding interoperability of the various scripts/packages.

anyway, this needs way more attention... raids should be used to up reliability
not downtimes :/
best (as always) would probably to see if debian is also affected and fix it
there first then...

[Bug 1256293] Re: Please sync roundcube from Debian sid version 0.9.4-1.1 or greater

2013-12-03 Thread David King
I created a debdiff of the changes between 0.9.2-2 and 0.9.5-1. I had a
look through the upstream git repository, but it was a bit difficult to
find the specific commits that fixed the CVEs. Looking through the
upstream changelog, it seems that there were mostly bugfixes between the
0.9.2 and 0.9.5 releases.

[Bug 1255693] Re: FTBFS: fails to find boost libraries

2013-12-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package salome-kernel - 6.5.0-7ubuntu1

---
salome-kernel (6.5.0-7ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=low

  * Resolve FTBFS (LP: #1255693):
- Patch CMake definitions to use multiarch lib locations during
configuration (passing --with-boost in d/rules is insufficient
  since the CMake files are hardcoded to use specific paths);
- Add missing -lpthread to LIBADD for ld --as-needed.

[Bug 1257251] [NEW] exiting: service couldn't acquire or lost ownership of busname errors on the greeter logs

2013-12-03 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Public bug reported:

Using trusting indicator-power has a bunch of those errors in its logs
(/var/lib/lightdm/.cache/upstart/indicator-power.log)
Indicator-Power-Message: exiting: service couldn't acquire or lost ownership
of busname

Other indicators seem to have similar issues, e.g indicator-session has those
and
WARNING **:
/build/buildd/indicator-session-12.10.5+14.04.20131125/src/backend-dbus/actions.c:196
 on_screensaver_proxy_ready: can't connect : Connection refused

(string might not be exact, I'm translating it there)

Should those be open on individual indicators or is there an
infrastructur problem with the upstart jobs?
