[Bug 1264231] Re: Include samba and libpam-smbpass packages by default
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I think changes like this should receive consensus from a wider audience, rather than just from people watching bugs in samba. In particular, I don't know what any downsides of doing this might be, and it would be best to consult with more experienced Ubuntu developers on this. This bug certainly seems valid; I just don't think that it can be acted on alone. Can you bring this up on an appropriate mailing list if you want this request to make progress? Perhaps ubuntu-desktop? ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264231 Title: Include samba and libpam-smbpass packages by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1264231/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1263314] Re: ntpd apparmor
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This doesn't reproduce on a default installation, since /var/lib/sss/pipes/nss is provided (I believe) by sssd, which is in universe and not installed by default. However, /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/nameservice includes references to /var/lib/sss. Does this need to be amended? In any case, I think this needs to be fixed in either sssd or apparmor, since ntp simply tries to use NSS, as might any other NSS consumer that would be caught by this. ** Package changed: ntp (Ubuntu) = apparmor (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ntp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1263314 Title: ntpd apparmor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/1263314/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1264338] [NEW] could not route the host for container
Public bug reported: Create the container using lxclite python package and try to use the Fabric to execute the command remotely. All of the above steps are done in on process. Always get the exception Low level socket error connecting to host 10.0.3.181 on port 22: , could not route the host. My guess is that whether after create the lxc container , the network related infomation has been update by the system , but the process hasn't detected the update infomation , so it could not route to the host. [Bug 1264338] Re: could not route the host for container
Hi Robie Thank you so much for your reply. I don't know whether it is a bug for the lxc of ubuntu . But I will try to describe the issue I met in detail. My Lxc version is: lxc version: 0.7.5 My Operation system information as following Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description:Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS My purpose is to create the container and execute the command remotely on the new container. I think the lxclite is just the wrapper for the standard lxc tool . I currently write a simple demo to show the issue . The following is the test case 1 #!/usr/bin/python import commands from fabric.api import settings from fabric.operations import run import sys def main(): result = commands.getstatusoutput(lxc-create -t ubuntu -n test) if result[0] != 0: sys.exit(1) result = commands.getstatusoutput(lxc-start -d -n test) if result[0] != 0: sys.exit(1) result = commands.getstatusoutput(awk '{ print $4,$3 }' /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases | column -t | grep test |awk '{print $2}') ip = result[1] print ip with settings(host_string=ip,user=ubuntu,password=ubuntu): print run(whoami, shell=True) if __name__ == __main__: main() The above test code just use python module to call the standard lxc tool , and then using the fabric to execute the command on the new container. The IP address for the new container could be extract correctly , but the remote command execution will not work due to the low level socket error as following fabric.exceptions.NetworkError: Low level socket error connecting to host 10.0.3.223 on port 22: No route to host (tried 1 time) I check the info for the container lxc-info -n test state: RUNNING pid: 14646 The test case 2 is that I keep the container running , and just run the code for remote command execution #!/usr/bin/python from fabric.api import settings from fabric.operations import run import commands result = commands.getstatusoutput(awk '{ print $4,$3 }' /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases | column -t | grep test |awk '{print $2}') ip = result[1] print ip with settings(host_string=ip,user=ubuntu,password=ubuntu): print run(whoami, shell=True) ~ And it will work , the output is : [10.0.3.223] run: whoami [10.0.3.223] out: ubuntu [10.0.3.223] out: ubuntu My personal opinion is that after the lxc-create and lxc-start , the lxc tool may have update some network information on the system so that the system can route the ip to the right place . In test case 1, all the steps on in one process , so the process may not know the update information for the network . Maybe I need some code to reimport the network information into the process . Due to I am a new guy in lxc , I don't have any concept about it . So hope you can help me , thanks . -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264338 Title: could not route the host for container To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1264338/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1262380] Re: gtk+3.0 FTBFS on ppc64el
I'm fairly certain this is a bug in the test itself. If you take a look at glib2.0/gobject/gmarshal.c g_cclosure_marshal_VOID__PARAM, you see typedef void (*GMarshalFunc_VOID__PARAM) (gpointer data1, gpointer arg_1, gpointer data2); That says to me that all of the signal functions in gtk/tests/builder.c should be declared as signal_normal (GtkWindow *window, GParamSpec *spec) not signal_normal (GtkWindow *window, GParamSpec spec) The spec parameter corresponds to arg_1 in the typedef, which is a pointer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1262380 Title: gtk+3.0 FTBFS on ppc64el To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+bug/1262380/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1264270] [NEW] Regular black screens since automatic kernel upgrade
Public bug reported: Since upgrading the kernel along with other automatic software updates (about 200MB download) the video of this system regularly blanks after a few minutes of operation or shows a black screen with white text having machine gibberish that looks like a log file with seconds at the left edge. Resetting the display screen to never turn off automatically doesn't help. Unplugging the laptop's monitor and plugging it in again will usually restore normal functioning, but only for a while. This sort of problem occurred the previous two times automatic kernel upgrades were installed and was fixed by a display manager update that followed about a week later, at least in one case. Maybe three times is a charm and the underlying problem will now be solved. Thanks. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1223390 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1223390 Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, Ubuntu never provide a package fpc with real content, so if your old fpc package contains files, it looks to me that you didn't get the original package from Ubuntu. I know one PPA that provides a all-in one package of fpc. Because of this the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug. You probably should uninstall fpc first and then continue. [Bug 951955] Re: Dell st220t (st2220tc) buggy multitouch
isi, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.13-rc5 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Hi, I'm currently developing/designing a Gtk theme which sets a white background for GtkTreeView:selected. [Bug 1264280] [NEW] Cannot browse file on bluetooth device. Nonsense error message
Public bug reported: Usually I can browse files on my mobile connected via bluetooth from the computer. Same computer, same phone, now I can't. - Click on the bluetooth icon on the notification area - select bluetooth settings (directly selecting Browse files within the submenu under the name of the device wouldn't work, as per bug #1254106) - select the device which is the only one in the list and click Browse files. = I get this nonsense error message: Unable to find the requested file. Please check the spelling and try again And below: Unhandled error message: Unable to load location. Note the error message suggesting to check the spelling is particularly stupid as no typing is involved in the process. I've done a hcidump during the process and it is COMPLETELY EMPTY. I have removed the phone from the devices, paired it again from scratch, and it does not fix the issue. It used to work until very few days ago. [Bug 792486] Re: kernel complaining with 3d accelaration unity fine but games don't last mutch with 30 fps lossing fps to 6fps
Patrik Holm, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. [Bug 41301] Re: PS/2 Logitech MX310 clicks stop working sporadically
This bug affects me too. What is interesting in my case is that: - I have 2 laptops, one without this issue (Acer Travelmate 5730) and one with the issue (Acer Aspire 5749). - I've experienced this issue with Ubintu (12.04 I guess, but it was Unity), Fedora (F16, Gnome) and recently I switched to Ach (KDE). Since all of these experience the same issue, I think it is rather an x11 issue.. - The Apire has a I3 processor. This should rule out AMD (given that is is the same issue). - In my case the issue immediately arises after boot / login. Workaround (CRL-ALT-F1 - CTRL-ALT-F7) fixes the issue, but after that I cannot right click on the desktop anymore (in KDE this is the way to shutdown). - I've experienced the isseu with all kinds of kernels, so I don't think that it is kernel version related... Since I found the workaround, I can use my laptop (until last week it was rather useless, since I refuse to use WIndows :)...). I hop that this might give any insight in this issue and might help to resolve it. Please let me know if there is anythging else I can do to help... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/41301 Title: PS/2 Logitech MX310 clicks stop working sporadically To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/41301/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

** Package changed: ntp (Ubuntu) = apparmor (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1263314 Title: ntpd apparmor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/1263314/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1264196] Re: System crashes on lid close and screensaver
** Description changed: On Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS on a Lenovo Thinkpad S540. Upon closing the lid or leaving the laptop unattended for a certain time (such that the screen dims and re-login is required), the system freezes. The mouse can still be moved, but clicks do nothing and keyboard is non responsive. It possible to recover by ALT+CTRL+F1 then ALT+CTRL+F7, at which point the login prompt is presented and active. My power settings are set to Don't suspend (battery and AC) and Do nothing when the lid is closed (battery and AC), so I expect nothing to happen when closing the lid. From the dimmed screen, I expect to be able to re-login with the system freezing. I've attached also the results from doing `Alt+SysRq+1` then `Alt+SysRq+t` at the tty - , dumping into kern.log. The file is called LidFreezeDump. + , dumping into kern.log. The file is called trace dump. [Bug 1264300] [NEW] panel and windows are still visible on one of the dual screen while screen is locked
Public bug reported: I have an extra monitor connected to my laptop, sometimes (randomly) when I unlock the screen (after being unlocked before) I see the laptop screen showing unity panel leaking information. However the mouse is locked in the main screen (showing the login prompt), so It was impossible to interact with those windows/panels. 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System - About Ubuntu Description:Ubuntu 13.10 Release:13.10 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center I am not sure about the package name 3) What you expected to happen I expect that the laptop screen should be dimmed, or just display the same background image. 4) What happened instead the laptop screen showed the windows, and panel as if the computer was not locked, However the mouse is locked in one of the screens, so I couldn't interact with the leaked windows. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: Photo of both my screens showing the problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264300/+attachment/3936046/+files/IMG_20131226_150943.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264300 Title: panel and windows are still visible on one of the dual screen while screen is locked To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1264300/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 992374] Re: package friendly-recovery 0.2.25 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127
This whole sequence started when I attempted to install 12.04 lts onto a Dell Optiplex 280 with single core Pentium 4. 3gb memory. 750 Gb hard drive partitioned as (3) NTFS partitions of about this size. C ~ 300GB, D ~ 300GB, E ~ 120 GB. Native OS is Windows XP Service Pack 32 bit. Not clear from wubi instructions for 12.04 what to do for dual boot system with Ubuntu on E partition. So I decided to reinstall Ubuntu 10.4 lts which had previously been on this machine and resided on E partition. Did it. After that install, the system offered an upgrade to 12.04 instead of updating the 10.04 upgrades. Selected the 12.04 upgrade via network connection over DSL. (As I knew from the 10.04 install that it had landed successfully on the E partition). This took 3+ hours. Maybe a bad choice on Christmas day as we were cooking and preparing to go to a relatives house to celebrate Christmas at night. Several error messages indicating upgrade failure occurred during the process. Most disturbing had to do with kernel upgrade failure. Maybe not as bad as indicated as this info is being submitted from the 12.04 OS without obvious problems. What lurks unseen? BTW this whole process was undertaken because of excessive cpu utilization by Win XP. Made for slow internet/printig from browser. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992374 Title: package friendly-recovery 0.2.25 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/friendly-recovery/+bug/992374/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
