[Bug 1264739] [NEW] YouTube black box with audio, needs refreshing to play

2013-12-28 Thread Alan Pope ㋛
Public bug reported:

Frequently and for some time I've had to refresh the page when loading a
youtube video.
What tends to happen is I get a black box, with audio, but no video.
I often need to refresh 5-10 times to get the video to actually load and play.
It always does load eventually, but more often than not it requires many
refreshes.

[Bug 1264742] [NEW] Sync openafs 1.6.5.2-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-12-28 Thread Jackson Doak
Public bug reported:

Please sync openafs 1.6.5.2-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * Include patches by Anders Kaseorg to fix FTBFS on trusty's kernel.
(LP: #1246675)
Build issue fixed upstream

Changelog entries since current trusty version 1.6.5.1-1ubuntu1:

openafs (1.6.5.2-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
- Fix support for tmpfs as the cache filesystem.
- Support kernels with backported changes affecting getname/putname.
  * Exit successfully in the openafs-client init script if /sbin/afsd
doesn't exist, indicating that openafs-client is not installed.
  * Load /lib/lsdb/init-functions in the openafs-client init script as the
first step towards upstart or systemd support.
  * Update standards version to 3.9.5 (no changes required).

[Bug 1243261] Re: apparent GPU hang on haswell laptop when playing movie on libreoffice

2013-12-28 Thread Matthias B.
This bug occurs even when just playing a video with VLC. It seems to
occur only when multiple displays are attached and only in some
configurations. In particular non-clone configurations seem to be
affected. The workaround that helped me was

Option AccelMethod uxa

in the Device section of xorg.conf.

[Bug 1263127] Re: hi-contract icons not visible

2013-12-28 Thread Marco Cimmino
Unluckily as I tried to explain many times to Canonical the problem are not
icons, but the Qt themes (colors, styles, etc) are not picked up on a 32-bit
binary running on 64-bit Ubuntu.
Icons are NOT a problem here. I am going to provide a very simple Qt code to
demonstrate the issue.

[Bug 1264713] Re: [Acer Aspire 5750-9668] Tapping top right of touchpad pastes undesirably

2013-12-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Changing to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) given the fix was
adjusting synclient. Please re-assign if this is the incorrect package.

** Description changed:

  1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)
  Release: 14.04

  2) uname -a
  Linux monikerpc 3.12.0-7-generic #15-Ubuntu SMP Sun Dec 8 23:39:27 UTC 2013
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

  3) What is expected to happen is if one taps the top right of the
touchpad, it does not paste anything.

  4) What happens instead is it consistently pastes. Unfortunately, there
are not settings exposed by the GUI in Applications Menu - Settings -
Mouse and Touchpad to adjust this. As well, this is despite in that menu
  - tab Devices - checkbox Disable touchpad while typing is unchecked.
This is quite inconvenient as one could have their mouse towards the top
of the screen, scrolling with the touchpad and not notice things are
- being pasted unintentionally.
+ being pasted unintentionally. Hence, this functionality should be opt-
+ in, versus opt-out.

WORKAROUND: Change RTCornerButton=2 to 0 via:
  synclient RTCornerButton=0

WORKAROUND: Ensure one does not accidentally use a clicking motion on
the top right of the touchpad when scrolling.

[Bug 1264745] [NEW] Sync gtimelog 0.9.1-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-12-28 Thread Jackson Doak
Public bug reported:

Please sync gtimelog 0.9.1-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * New upstream release. (LP: #1050539)
  * Remove debian/patches/bug-1016212.patch as it has been applied upstream.
  * Apply upstream patch to work around gobject menu reference counting
bug. (LP: #1016212)
  * New upstream release.
- Fix reporting problems with non-ASCII characters (LP: #785578)
- Fix panel background color detection. (LP: #924390)
  * debian/control:
- replace X[SB]-Python-Version with X-Python-Version
- remove ${python:Provides}
  * debian/control: Fix dependencies: python-gobject → python-gi.
  * New upstream release.
  * debian/patches/force-gi: Upstream defaults to gi, so this patch is
unnecessary. Removed.
  * debian/watch: Update for new location on Launchpad.
  * New upstream release. Changes since to our bzr snapshot and patches:
- Ctrl-Q now quits. (LP: #750092)
- Fixed UnboundLocalError. (LP: #778285)
- Hide the main window on Esc. (LP: #716257)
  * Drop patches which are upstream now:
- fix-gobject-import
- fix-appindicator
- gi_require_version_api
- pango_tab_align
  * debian/patches/force-gi: Unfuzz.
  * Add debian/patches/gi-fixes: Fix working with current Pango, and missing
import.

This is quite inconvenient as one could have their mouse towards the top
of the screen, scrolling with the touchpad and not notice things are
being pasted unintentionally. Hence, this functionality should be opt-

[Bug 1264636] Re: HDMI Audio out fails on Geforce 8200 (MCP78)

2013-12-28 Thread Kyle Echols
Attaching output of alsa-info.sh while running the 3.11.10 kernel (alsa-
info.txt.kernel_3.11.10_20131228), I can roll back to the release kernel
and re-run the script if needed.

** Tags added: apport-collected precise

** Description changed:

I have an XFX Geforce 8200 (MCP78) motherboard. While HDMI video out works
fine, HDMI audio doesn't work with the 3.8 kernel (3.8.0-29 or 3.8.0-34), I've
tried with both the nouveau and nvidia binary drivers. The analog outputs work
with either driver.
After upgrading to kernel 3.11.10-031110-generic, from the kernel mainline
PPA, and using the nouveau drivers I'm able to get audio out over HDMI, using
the following options in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf:
  options snd-hda-intel single_cmd=1 probe_mask=-1,0x8 unmute iec958

While using this configuration, I have audio and it's mostly stable,
however, I'm unable to take advantage of 3d acceleration and HD video
playback is choppy. If I then use the any of the nvidia drivers (304,
319, 331, or current) I get frequent crashes, including system lockups.
I have confirmed with VLC, mplayer2, and speaker-test that no audio
comes out through HDMI until the 3.11 kernel, nouveau drivers, and the
modprobe options mentioned are all in place.

I'm attaching 20131228_logs.zip containing the output of:
  aplay -lL (aplay_out)
  lspci -k (lspci_out)
  and the following additional files:
  dmesg
  dmesg.0
  lsb-release

  uname -a returns:

[Bug 927047] Re: no package for precise

2013-12-28 Thread niknah
Me too. This is the best desktop video capture I've used.
I've tried recordmydesktop, it produces buggy files that can't be edited.

There's nothing wrong with it. It works, it's simple, so no one needs to
update it.
How does this rule work? Do you remove every old piece of software that nobody
is updating?

Here's a nice person who's given a link and info on how to get it working on
later versions of ubuntu...

[Bug 1264751] [NEW] Saucy - Asus G75VW F2 Wifi Key Not Working

2013-12-28 Thread LaunchPadGirl
Public bug reported:

I'm using 13.10 x64 with an Asus G75VW and the F2 to turn the Wifi
adpater on/off does not work.

The WiFi works on the laptop, but if I press the F2 the adpater can't be
turned off and on, also the light for the Wifi is not lit up on the
front of the laptop. Since the Wifi works I'm not sure why the light
doesn't appear on.

On 12.04 I also had the same problem with the F2 not working to
enable/disable the adpater, the Wifi also worked, but the light was also
always displayed on at the front of the laptop.

[Bug 1263127] Re: hi-contract icons not visible

2013-12-28 Thread Marco Cimmino
Ok I found the package needed, this command fixes the issue:
sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0:i386

It pulls a lot of 32-bit libraries and then Skype can get the proper
themes and colors, included high contrast ones. I am not sure if there
is a smaller subset of libraries needed, but this is what I found to fix
the issue.

[Bug 1264733] Re: lxc-create: invoke-rc.d: policy-rc.d denied execution of start

2013-12-28 Thread Stéphane Graber
It's not an error but perfectly intended behaviour.

If the template was to fail, lxc-create would fail and give a clear
error message.

The message you saw comes from the fact that lxc prevents daemon from
starting when preparing the container. This is needed to prevent the
installation of openssh-server in the container from restarting the
host's ssh server. The message is perfectly normal and in no way flagged
as an error.

[Bug 1229195] Re: Openconnect will not connect under Saucy -- openssl problem?

2013-12-28 Thread Cory F. Cohen
Kevin, I've been away on vacation for two weeks. Sorry for the delay in
responding. What I really know is that the --no-xmlpost option fixed it
somehow. I assumed it was related to the code that I looked at briefly
that you appear to have also found restricting to auth group to the
choices returned by the server. I assumed that --no-xmlpost somehow
caused that entire piece of code to be skipped, but I never saw where
that actually occurred. I propose that at least one fix would be to
generate a warning (instead of failing) during that validation.

I don't think the server returns the choice I'm using either way, but it
does accept the value when it is explicitly specified. The server is
not public, and I doubt that providing the name would be of much use to
you.

It is not hardware related, it is not linked to /etc/pulse content (unchanged)

Public bug reported:

When a user leaves a fullscreen application, it leaves a trail on the
screen temporarily. A screenshot of this issue is provided.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open application.
2. Make application fullscreen (this bug has an affinity for occuring with
windows that are snapped to one side or snapped to the top)
3. Leave fullscreen (instantly leaving fullscreen may not work, and you may
have to leave the program in fullscreen for a period of time before this bug
will appear)

[Bug 1263128] Re: Skype is hidden under technical items in USC when installed from deb downloaded from skype

2013-12-28 Thread Marco Cimmino
There are TWO issues with Skype debian package shipped at skype.com at
the moment:

1. After the installation of Skype the button is showing Install like
nothing happened, despite has been correctly installed, this bug was
fixed in Ubuntu 13.04 and regressed again in Ubuntu 13.10.

2. To uninstall Skype these are the steps:
a) open Ubuntu Software Center and search for skype
b) click on the _very_ hidden Show 18 technical items (High Contrast
screenshots show that link is not even accessible, color contrast is not ok)
c) scroll circa to the middle of the page to finally see Skype
d) click on it
e) click Remove

Result:
Both install and uninstall of Skype package is very hard and not user friendly.
We are open for suggestions on how to address this issue by Ubuntu 14.04 and
make sure it is NOT going to regress one more time for Ubuntu 14.10.

Thank you
Marco

Uninstalling from command line is going to be easier than the UI, unfortunately.

[Bug 1100877] Re: lxc-start fails after upgrade to raring

2013-12-28 Thread Arne-Christian Blystad
Hello,

so this bug just happened to me. I was running a local juju environment
(which uses LXC), and then my computer froze. I used SysRQ + REISUB to
reboot it and then my juju-local environment was unable to start. I've
destroyed the environment as well as all containers and rebooted after
that, but now I'm getting the exact same error as #7.

[Bug 1216422] Re: [Acer Aspire One 725] Touchpad not working

2013-12-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Paul Campion, thank you for your comment. Importance is set as per
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Importance . However, because this bug has
two easy WORKAROUNDs, it's actually considered low. I'll fix that, and
thank you for bringing that up.

Despite this, so your hardware may be tracked, could you please file a new
report with Ubuntu by executing the following in a terminal while booted into a
Ubuntu repository kernel (not a mainline one) via:
ubuntu-bug linux

For more on this, please read the official Ubuntu documentation:
Ubuntu Bug Control and Ubuntu Bug Squad:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/BestPractices#X.2BAC8-Reporting.Focus_on_One_Issue
Ubuntu Kernel Team:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies#Filing_Kernel_Bug_reports
Ubuntu Community:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette

When opening up the new report, please feel free to subscribe me to it.

Thank you for your understanding.

Helpful bug reporting tips:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

Launchy, as per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an update is
available for your BIOS (1.08). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it
doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and just provide the
output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1264751] Re: Saucy - Asus G75VW F2 Wifi Key Not Working

2013-12-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
LaunchPadGirl, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. Could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
please just make a comment to this.

If reproducible, could you also please test the latest upstream kernel
available (not the daily folder) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue.Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.13-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

** Description changed:

- I'm using 13.10 x64 with an Asus G75VW and the F2 to turn the Wifi
- adpater on/off does not work.
-
- The WiFi works on the laptop, but if I press the F2 the adpater can't be
- turned off and on, also the light for the Wifi is not lit up on the
- front of the laptop. Since the Wifi works I'm not sure why the light
- doesn't appear on.
-
- On 12.04 I also had the same problem with the F2 not working to
- enable/disable the adpater, the Wifi also worked, but the light was also
- always displayed on at the front of the laptop.
+ On my Asus G75VW from 12.04 through 13.10 x64 F2 does not toggle the
+ WiFi.

[Bug 954772] Re: mceusb: add Formosa device ID 0xe042

2013-12-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
_nico, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

If reproducible, could you also please test the latest upstream kernel
available (not the daily folder) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.13-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 956046] Re: intel driver fails to use dual-link LVDS if lid is down at boot

2013-12-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Ryan Lortie, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

If reproducible, could you also please test the latest upstream kernel
available (not the daily folder) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.13-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 575120] Re: Resolution of splash screen reduces when NVIDIA proprietary drivers are installed

2013-12-28 Thread LaunchPadGirl
What is controversial about this, I don't understand that remark?

This might work great on Desktop Screens but I've personally always used
laptops with Ubuntu since Plymouth was first introduced to Ubuntu and
I've never seen it look all that great on a laptop display.

There is constantly text appearing on bootup and restart/shutdown.

In the past when I've Distro Hopped I've seen Suse and Fedora display
nice splash screens without any text.

Sure it's doesn't affect the system, it's just cosmetic, but it makes
Ubuntu look unprofessional and unpolished, it's cheesy as some would
say. As big as Canonical is they should be able to put togther staff
that can create a clean looking bootup splash, 100% clean on bootup, and
restart/shutdown and no text spewing across the screen.

To sit back and say it's just cosmetics and not fix this issue is lame,
this has been like this since the beginning of Plymouth, so how many
years are we talking that Canonical hasn't fixed this? That's a long
time for something that isn't that complicated.

All we are talking about is displaying and image on boot up and
shutdown/restart it's not that complicated.

Let's look at Windows 7 Windows 8 as an example, this is what we are
talking about a clean screen.

So what's it going to take for Canonical to finally sit up and make this
thing look clean and professional?

It is true that in certain aspects of the business world image is
everything and a First Impression is based upon looks, so I'm not to
sure why Canonical has the bootup, shutdown/restart process looking like
such crap. I'm sorry but it really does and it really needs to step into
the 21st Century with a nice clean look, Professional Polished!

PLEASE pass my comments onto to those repsonsible for this undertaking
and let's not take it so lighlty but consider this is an important
aspect of computing, making a nice impression at bootup...

Thank you...

[Bug 1264742] Re: Sync openafs 1.6.5.2-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-12-28 Thread Anders Kaseorg
Right. 1.6.5.2-1 does _not_ work with trusty’s kernel; it would need a
merge, not a sync. We need 1.6.6~pre2-1.

** Summary changed:

- Sync openafs 1.6.5.2-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
+ Sync openafs 1.6.6~pre2-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

** Description changed:

- Please sync openafs 1.6.5.2-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
+ Please sync openafs 1.6.6~pre2-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
- * Include patches by Anders Kaseorg to fix FTBFS on trusty's kernel.
- (LP: #1246675)
- Build issue fixed upstream
+   * Include patches by Anders Kaseorg to fix FTBFS on trusty's kernel.
+ (LP: #1246675)

+ * New upstream pre-release.

+ in sysfs is now properly cleared.
+ - The AFS mountpoint specified in the cacheinfo file must now be an

+ - Stop tracking file locks on read-only volumes. Write locks always
+ fail and read locks always succeed.
+ - New fs flushall command to discard all cached data.
+ - Fixed a bug that could cause the client to incorrectly believe its
+ cache was up to date.
+ - New -rxmaxfrags switch to afsd to limit the number of UDP fragments
+ sent or received per RX packet.
+ - Fixed afsd threads entering an infinite loop.
+ - The file server now ignores any vice partitions with a NeverAttach
+ flag file present in the root directory.
+ - Enabled server-side NAT pings to refresh NAT timeouts.
+ - Forcing file server CPS recalculation (for IP ACLs) is now
+ restricted to administrators.
+ - vos examine of a volume in a transaction is now shown as busy again
+ rather than off-line.
+ - Multiple bug fixes to the salvager.
+ - Fixed a bug that could cause state information to be discarded when
+ restarting a large or busy file server.
+ - Fixed a vlserver bug during file server address registration.
+ - volserver supports a new -preserve-vol-stats option, which preserves
+ access statistics across volume restore and reclone operations.
+ - Releasing a volume after adding a new RO site no longer touches the

+ release.
+ - Fixed undefined ptserver behavior with too many allocated PTS ids.
+ - Avoid redefining assert in public header files.

[Bug 1242891] Re: [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH, playback] Playback problem LED problem

2013-12-28 Thread ex-oficio
Hi, since the update on the 23rd, my sound has broken. I now only have
dummy output listed in the sound settings dialog.

The DKMS process used to install several modules, but as of the update
on 23rd December it only installs 2 as follows:

snd-hda-codec:
Running module version sanity check.
 - Original module
 - Installation
   - Installing to /lib/modules/3.8.0-34-generic/updates/dkms/

snd-hda-intel.ko:
Running module version sanity check.
 - Original module
 - Installation
   - Installing to /lib/modules/3.8.0-34-generic/updates/dkms/

I have a lot of errors in dmesg, relating to hda-audio which I will post
shortly.

2013-12-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Markus Schuster, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest LTS

If it remains an issue, could you please just make a comment to this?

[Bug 1264769] [NEW] User unable to purge gnunet-server

2013-12-28 Thread Shane O'Sullivan
Public bug reported:

A user in #ubuntu was recieved the error:
http://pastebin.com/Zp2w87Pz
when attempting to purge gnunet-server

when asking the user for the output of the following:
cat /etc/passwd | grep gnunet cat /etc/group | grep gnunet cat
/etc/group | grep gnunetdns

the user replied with: http://pastebin.com/pbY5Rmua
which showed evidence of 2 different user accounts with username gnunet being
created.

I had the user manually run:
sudo deluser pavel gnunet

The error still occurred upon attempting to purge the package.

The user then manually ran:
sudo deluser gnunet

and was then able to purge the package.

[Bug 1242891] Re: [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH, playback] Playback problem LED problem

2013-12-28 Thread ex-oficio
I was able to downgrade to the previous package:

https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/alsa-
daily/+build/5361699/+files/oem-audio-hda-daily-lts-raring-
dkms_0.201312181238%7Eubuntu12.04.1_all.deb

Which has put everything back as it was.

I am also led to believe from this thread:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-
driver/+question/241165

that if i change to 3.10 kernel then the update from 23rd december would
work, which makes me think that I should stick to the previous version
for Raring.

[Bug 1264391] Re: Raid degraded check too early

2013-12-28 Thread Michael Schmidt
** Description changed:

  Hi,

on every boot i got the do you wish to start with a degraded RAID warning
message.
After skipping the message and starting with the degraded RAID everything
looks fine. There is no rebuild running and the raid state is clean.

I could fix this by adding a wait condition to the degraded check like
described here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1861516page=2p=11388915#post11388915

So from my point of view the execution of the degraded check is not very
- usefull as it is now. Instead it should run after the RAID was started
- successfully.
+ usefull as it is now. I dont know if I have understood the problem
+ correectly but instead it should run after the RAID was started
+ successfully (if this is the problem).

[Bug 1225921] Re: AMD crossfire not supported

2013-12-28 Thread laulau
ok sorry for the delay ...
now I have 2x 7950 and this is nearly the same : on liveCD, X server fails to
display properly with crossfire.
but instead of having a pink screen, this time I have a sort of unity screen,
but window content and background is very corrupted.
still works well when there is only one card ...
and same behaviour with 14.04 nightly.

so I made a fresh install of ubuntu 13.10 amd64 with only one card, installed
fglrx-update, then reboot with 2 cards.
and ran ubuntu-bug linux which reported this bug :
