[Bug 1264466] [NEW] .
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Hi, I constantly get a bug which shows Savanna Image not imported into glance. What I did : I have 2 compute nodes, 1 controller node and 1 master node(at times only 1 compute node). After configuring them I used the fuel UI and did the necessary network settings and assigned the compute and controller nodes. Few settings worth mentioning : Installed grizzly on CentOS6.4, Checked auto assigning, did vlan tagging, checked install Savanna, checked default storage(cinder) instead of ceph, and deployed. When I run health checks I get an error saying Savanna Image with tags not imported to glance. Later, I opened the openstack dashboard, and uploaded the HDP 1.3 Plugin provided in hortonworks, added the tags as HDP and 1.3, and created the image. When I getback to health check after the above step it again shows Savanna Image with tags was not imported to glance. What can be done about this ? ** Affects: glance (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- . https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264466 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to glance in Ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1265454] Re: package bind9 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-4ubuntu0.7 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Thank you for your report. This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu. Specifically, it looks like the bind configuration you have specified in /etc/bind is not valid. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Since we use this bug tracker to track bugs in Ubuntu, rather than configuration problems, I'm marking this bug as Invalid. This helps us to focus on fixing bugs in Ubuntu. If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: bind9 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265454 Title: package bind9 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-4ubuntu0.7 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/1265454/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1265334] Re: log privacy
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I notice that you've also filed bug 1265336 and bug 1265330 for equivalent changes in dovecot and postfix. I don't think these changes are ones that can be made unilaterally in Ubuntu. I understand that you may want to avoid logging this information, but it isn't clear that all Ubuntu users would, since it also makes debugging far more difficult in a production environment. In particular, you seem to be asking for the default to be changed, rather than a specific bug or piece of functionality. This sounds like a blueprint level discussion to me, or at the minimum we I think we need to achieve consensus across affected Ubuntu users before making such changes. Please can bring your proposals forward on a suitable Ubuntu mailing list for discussion first? The ubuntu-server list seems relevant to me since all three of your bugs relate to packages being used in server use cases. In the meantime, I'll mark this bug status as Opinion to reflect that we don't expect to proceed without further action, and mark the other two bugs as duplicates of this one so that everybody can see the current status. If we reach consensus, then we can later un-dup the bugs and change the status appropriately. ** Changed in: amavisd-new (Ubuntu) Status: New = Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to amavisd-new in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265334 Title: log privacy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amavisd-new/+bug/1265334/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Thank you for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. AFAICT, this should have been fixed in 2.4.7, which has just been uploaded to Debian today. So this should be fixed in Trusty on the next merge, and we should definitely do this in time for Trusty's release. [Bug 1081489] Re: autofs package is missing the lookup_sss.so module(!); negating autofs-enabled sssd functionality (automount fails)
** Description changed: Brief: We are running an environment where users' home directories are automounted based on information stored in an LDAP db. To avoid double- lookups (and increase performance and stability), we use the sssd daemon to cache login and automount information. I.e, the /etc/nsswitch.conf has 'automount: sss' as opposed to 'automount: ldap'. Problem: The autofs pkg in Linux Mint 14 is missing the 'lookup_sss.so' module (which autofs uses to obtain the automount information from the System Security Services Daemon/sssd.) This means that the entire sssd integration with autofs is unable to function properly. Since this looks like an oversight; I am reporting this issue as a bug in the hope of a quick upstream fix. Naturally, the Mint installation is not working very well without this functionality in place and maintaining custom packages for this task is not a good option. + + Information Required for Inclusion In Main Proposal + + + Availability: + SSSD is already in the Ubuntu universe, and builds successfully for the architectures it is designed to work on as required. + + Rationale: + This package is essential for enterprise environments using automounted NFS home directories. Without it, there is no way to cache autofs maps leading to failed logins as autofs starts before networking is up. + + The package is to be a new build dependency of a package that we + already support (autofs). This resolves bug No. 1081489 comment No. 5 + allowing sssd's autofs module to be built correctly. + + Security: + The package has had 3 vulnerabilities discovered and patched in the last 18 months. Ubuntu uses the LTM (long-term maintenance) version of SSSD which is supported for longer than other releases with both fixes for important bugs and security patches. The Redhat security team are actively involved in fixing vulnerabilities in this package. + + Quality assurance: + + The package meets all of the following criteria as required except where noted below: + After installing the package it must be possible to make it working with a reasonable effort of configuration and documentation reading. + The package must not ask debconf questions higher than medium if it is going to be installed by default. [Bug 1081489] Re: autofs package is missing the lookup_sss.so module(!); negating autofs-enabled sssd functionality (automount fails)
I've attempted to provide all the requested information in body of the bug report, but did run across one possible problem... The sssd package depends on several other sssd-something packages and these would also have to be included in main. I had a quick run through them and each of their individual dependencies appear to be in main already with two exceptions: libdhash1 and libsss-idmap0 Both of these packages are required by several of sssd's dependencies and so as I understand it, would also need to be moved to main. Both libdhash1 and libsss-idmap0's dependencies are already in main so no further packages would be required. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1081489 Title: autofs package is missing the lookup_sss.so module(!); negating autofs-enabled sssd functionality (automount fails) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1081489/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 122885] Re: New a2enpkg / a2dispkg script should be written - Improve virtual host configuration
The conf.d mechanism was revamped in the packaging for Apache 2.4. It's now moved to conf-available, and the mechanisms for using these pieces have substantially changed. Thus, I think this bug is either fixed or superceded. If you think that something still needs to be changed, then please explain in light of the new mechanism and re-open accordingly. But, as Mathias said in 2007, we would only make changes through Debian, so do not expect to make any progress in Ubuntu with just this bug here. Somebody needs to push for any changes through the Debian BTS. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122885 Title: New a2enpkg / a2dispkg script should be written - Improve virtual host configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/122885/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1262853] Re: Apache2 config file not set up correctly during install
Thank you for your report. The default configuration provided by apache2 is in /etc/apache2. It uses apache2ctl, which uses /etc/apache2/envvars. If you do not have these variables defined in your environment when you call apache2, then you either need to source /etc/apache2/envvars to define them first, or replace the default configuration with one that does not need these variables defined. I expected to see no errors when performing the apache2 -V command. I appears that a file that defines these variables is missing. I think your expectation here is mismatched, and this behaviour is by design. If you want to call the binary directly instead of through apache2ctl, then of course you can do so, but must do it correctly. From the apache2(8) manpage: In general, apache2 should not be invoked directly, but rather should be invoked via /etc/init.d/apache2 or apache2ctl. The default Debian configuration requires environment variables that are defined in /etc/apache2/envvars and are not available if apache2 is started directly. However, apache2ctl can be used to pass arbitrary arguments to apache2. If I do: . /etc/apache2/envvars apache2 -V then I see the output that perhaps you were expecting. Marking this bug as Invalid, as I think that this behaviour is by design and shouldn't be a problem. [Bug 1265530] Re: Missing Reason-Phrase in HTTP response header for *standard* 3-digit status codes
I don't think any end-users are seriously affected (not even developers using apache). Howeverenterprise installations seems to be the ones that are affected: The reporter discovered the problem in combination with Phusion passenger (Ruby on Rails stack), that is also the case for me and another commenter on the apache bug. I ran into this problem when I upgraded hosts that nagios is watching. Nagios starting to report problems because of this. Another commenter on the apache bug ran into this problem when the http server was behind a varnish installation, apparently varnish also rely on this to work. So it seems mostly to be a problem in an Enterprise server setup, but that is also bad enough I think... Well, random guess of the day: lightdm was not installed during the upgrade because kubuntu-desktop was not present (thus no dependency tie to lightm) and kdm was removed in the post-upgrade cleanup either because there were no dependency chains to in anymore or there is special magic that marked kdm for removal (probably latter I am guessing). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264887 Title: After upgrade 12.04 - 14.04 there was no display manager (kdm or lightdm) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1264887/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1265301] Re: kppp doesn't need to run suid
Well, the debian change doesn't really fix the problem as it were. kppp still needs to be able to launch pppd which it can't unless the user manually gets added to the 'dip' group or the application is su'd. That being said, perhaps the more appropriate approach would be to mandate kdesudo, which in turn means the user needs to be in the admin/sudo group (or the admin needs to twiddle sudoers accordingly), however since that is the case for the default user it ought to give a somewhat better default experience than simply not doing anything and a somewhat (not really) more secure approach than suiding. Perhaps the best option actually would be to manually craft a group management system. e.g. main.cpp: - check if user is in dialout/dip - if not present dialog allowing the user to added themself to dialout/dip - polkit helper adds user to dialout/dip - restart to apply group change while that is a rather excessive approach it gives the best solution, you do not need to sudo/suid kppp at all, the user gets informed that stuff won't work and gets an option to fix this -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265301 Title: kppp doesn't need to run suid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kppp/+bug/1265301/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
I have also been facing this problem for a long time. It began with 12.04LTS as I remember. Previously the system was stable as a rock running 10.04 LTS. Tried to re-install the OS from scratch, but still facing the problem. Changed Video card, main board. Swapping RAM tried different graphics drivers, different available kernels but there is still random freezing. Could not effort to change the $1000 CPU... To me it happens most often when kicking on a link in Thunderbird to be opened in Firefox. Complete freeze, but the mice some times still moves around. No response from keyboard at all (numloc and capsloc LEDs does not change). Some times the system freeze when running in idle, and I discover this at logon screen. Normal uptime is about two three days between forced HW reboots. The strange about this bug is, that my kids runs a PC Intel Core i7-3770 3,4GHz Asrock/Gigabyte B75-Chipset mATX without facing any problem at all. I'm also user on the PC, running Gnome classic and compiz. I never log out, just switch user. It only reboots when applying new packages that requires a reboot, els its always running stable. Current configuration facing this problem: uptime 12:57:54 up 1 day, 2:22 Gnome Classic + Compiz Linux-x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3960X CPU @ 3.30GHz Kernel 3.8.0-34-generic NVIDIA GTX760 Driver Version: 319.32 /dev/sda Samsung SSD 840 16 GB Main Memory MB Rampage IV Extreme -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently. [Bug 1265491] Re: Evince failes to create new directory on USB-Stick (Save Dialog)
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1265491/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
** Affects: glance (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- . https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264466 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
