[Bug 1275031] Re: Update page hung when using the big Install 1 Update button

2014-01-31 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks Pat, I only tried the Install 1 update button with the mock and
it worked fine there, I'm going to try on the device the next time there
is an update available to try

Diego, any idea about the issue?

I'll take a look at this issue, seems weird since the only function of
the big install button, is to call all the download buttons that are in
the list, in this case just one.

[Bug 1257325] Re: No GTK+ based account plug-in

2014-01-31 Thread Rodney Dawes
The signon plug-in is installed in the right location (it is a plug-in
for libsignon, not libaccount-plugin). The problem here is that the
Online Accounts in the control center requires GTK+, and plug-ins thus
must be embeddable GTK+ widgets that are in shared objects. We do not
provide a plug-in for this, but only provide a QML based accounts plug-
in, for Ubuntu Touch.

We also have no plans to provide a GTK+ plug-in for this (ubuntuone-
credentials is entirely Qt based, and is C++/QML).

** Summary changed:

- signon-plugin-ubuntuone plugin installed in wrong place
+ No GTK+ based account plug-in

** Changed in: ubuntuone-credentials (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Won't Fix

[Bug 358533]

2014-01-31 Thread Software-n
I confirm freezes of the whole panel after waking up from standby with
unavailable nfs mounts in the background. The freeze goes away when the nfs
target becomes available again. With xfce I did not have this problem.
Without knowing the technical kde internal details I think that network mounts
should be detected by kde and be marked as unreliable, i.e., nothing should
depend on them to prevent such execution blockings.

I am running arch linux with the following packages:
linux 3.12.8-1
extra/kdebase-lib 4.12.1-1
extra/kdebase-plasma 4.12.1-1
extra/kdebase-runtime 4.12.1-2
extra/kdebase-workspace 4.11.5-1
Btw: Several nfs directories are mounted using the bg flag.

I guess one workaround for users having this problem is to mount network
shares via autofs. However, the kde core gui parts such as the panel
should definitely not freeze when, e.g., a connected network attached
storage is offline.

[Bug 390396]

2014-01-31 Thread Sam Ward
Confirmed in 4.12.1 in Gentoo. I was able to get my name in by making
the /etc/login.defs changes. However to test it further I placed a comma
at the end of my name and kcmshell4 kcm_useraccount worked as it should,
but when I removed the comma it crashed and sent one of my CPU cores to
100%! Now I am unable to change it any further. Tried resetting
login.defs and starting over, but it did not help. So don't put a comma
in your name! I don't mind the comma so much as I do a runaway cpu
core...

[Bug 1275042] [NEW] Wrong colors with Mesa 9.2 and Mesa 10.0 on Lubuntu 14.04 PowerPC

2014-01-31 Thread Christian Zigotzky
Public bug reported:

Hi all,

I've tried Mesa 9.2.2-1 and 10.0.1 on Debian Sid, Lubuntu 13.10, and on
Lubuntu 14.04. Unfortunately all have issued false colors in games. They
appear to be ABGR instead of RGBA, thus blue becomes green, red becomes
alpha etc.

Mesa 8.0.5-4 and Mesa 9.1.6 have no color problem.

The transitional solution is to install the old Mesa 8.0.X with Force
Version with the Synaptic package manager on new distributions.

We had a problem with wrong colors in SuperTuxKart 0.8 last year. The
Irrlicht guys have released a little hack for Irrlicht on Linux PPC
(http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7t=48577). They
told me that is a driver bug, and that workaround costs performance and
RAM. Unfortunately this workaround isn't suitable for Mesa 9.2 and
higher. At this time we have to install Mesa 9.1.X and lower on new
Linux distributions like Lubuntu 13.10, Lubuntu 14.04, Debian Sid etc.
It would be nice to solve this issue because we don't need the
workaround in the future.

[Bug 1275046] [NEW] package doublecmd-common (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/doublecmd/pixmaps.txt', which is also in package doublecmd-qt 0.5.7-5310M~raring

2014-01-31 Thread Karim Rekik
Public bug reported:

This error appears when I was updating my system (using update manager). I have
upgrade from xubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 daily 5 days ago. I have installed
DoubleCommander in 13.10 via a deb file downloaded from it's official site (so
not a ppa problem).
Update manager crashed after that but 'sudo apt-get install -f' fixed all
thinks and double commander was update

[Bug 1275031] Re: Update page hung when using the big Install 1 Update button

2014-01-31 Thread Pat McGowan
I only tried it the one time. There was in fact a long delay (minutes)
between when I entered the page and it detected the update, and when I
pushed the button to get the update, in case that could matter.

** Description changed:

  From Wikipedia:
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a first person shooter video game published
by Activision and originally released on November 19, 2001 for Windows. It was
made available on Steam on August 3, 2007. The single player game was developed
by Gray Matter Interactive and Nerve Software developed its multiplayer mode.
Id Software, the creators of Wolfenstein 3D, oversaw the development and were
credited as executive producers. The multiplayer side eventually became the

[Bug 1275053] [NEW] Network Manager should not offer to create a hotspot if the interface isn't ap capable

2014-01-31 Thread Benton Lam
Public bug reported:

The Laptop in question uses:
  *-network
   description: Wireless interface
   product: Centrino Ultimate-N 6300
   vendor: Intel Corporation
   physical id: 0
   bus info: pci@:03:00.0
   logical name: wlan0
   version: 3e
   serial: 24:77:03:8f:25:f4
   width: 64 bits
   clock: 33MHz
capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical
wireless
   configuration: broadcast=yes driver=iwlwifi
driverversion=3.5.0-45-generic firmware=9.221.4.1 build 25532 ip=192.168.43.231
latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11abgn
   resources: irq:46 memory:f240-f2401fff

When opening network wired, click at Use as Hotpsot, it would show the
hotspot's AP name and password, but in about 30 seconds or so, it
disappears, and reconnect to any valid AP, with *NO* error messages at
all.

This is extremely confusing to users, and the app could do something
like iw list to find out the capabilities that the interface has and
only offer it if it is capable.

[Bug 1242300] Re: Clang cannot locate standard header files

2014-01-31 Thread Rory Yorke
I think the correct related Debian bug is

  http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=705957

I did a 'sudo aptitude purge libclang-common-dev', accepted the first
dependency resolution option (remove clang and clang-3.2), and then did
'sudo aptitude install clang'; now clang works again. I'm not familiar
with apt/dpkg details; perhaps 'sudo aptitude reinstall libclang-common-
dev' would work too.

I'm on Xubuntu 13.10, which I upgraded from 13.04 -- I think this
matches the description of the above bug (directory not replaced by
symlink on upgrade).

[Bug 1274386] Re: Make Lynx-like motion a default Option

2014-01-31 Thread Lonnie Lee Best
I did google lynx motion before iterating, and the results were
unrelated.

Your post was ambiguous about where or what lynx motion was. You
certainly did say it was a built-in option.

The proposal is intelligible. Therefore there is no need for statistical
substantiation.

I will indeed pursue this upstream.

Thank you.

[Bug 1224579] Re: Video driver does not wake from suspend on A8-4500M

2014-01-31 Thread Justin VanDeBrake
I apologize for the long wait but, that version of ubuntu is pretty
unstable on my system. I have not gotten it to boot properly since I
posted the last bug update. It boots into the terminal and when I try
to start the graphics driver from there it crashes and says no display
connected. I will probably need to do a reinstall to fix the issue and,
I don't know when the next time that I will be able to work on it is.

Sorry for the slow in response.

[Bug 1252159] Re: Consider enabling osc (on screen controls

2014-01-31 Thread Doug McMahon
As far as a repo build don't think detection of liblua5.2-dev is an
issue, just place in debian/control

I've seen no issue in either my ppa builds or in use except for 1 obscure
issue with libvdpau-va-gl, preemptive bug filed on that though expect no action
if Osc isn't enabled officially.

I'm also not too clear on how a non debian user files debian bugs...

[Bug 1234665] Re: hide all normal windows custom key binding is ignored

Affects me too. Is there any workaround? Some dconf setting which will
swap Super-D to something else?

[Bug 1274386] Re: Make Lynx-like motion a default Option

2014-01-31 Thread Lonnie Lee Best
** Description changed:

  Updated

- I think we can intelligibly agree, that 99% of mc users who discover the
- Lynx-like motion option, will prefer it. And, for the 1% who don't,
- they probably wouldn't notice it being enabled anyway.
+ I think we can intelligibly agree, that mc users who discover the Lynx-
+ like motion option, will most likely prefer it. And, for anyone who
+ doesn't: they probably wouldn't notice it being enabled, given the fact
+ that without the Lynx-like motion being enabled, the right and left
+ arrow keys do nothing (so existing user aren't using those keys; they're
+ pressing enter; they can still do that with this enabled).

- Also, given the fact that without the Lynx-like motion being enabled,
- the right and left arrow keys do nothing, I conclude that this option is
- an excellent candidate to become a default option.
+ Therefore, I conclude that this option is an excellent candidate to
+ become a default option.

- By making it default, I believe it will make more new users like mc. MC
- will make a better first impression.
+ By making it enabled the default, both new and existing user will be
+ discover its usefulness. As is, only a few will discover it and use it.

  Previous

One thing that would enhance the work-flow in mc, would be the feature
of enabling the arrow keys as a way to navigate the tree hierarchy of
  the file system.

An example of an ncurses applications that provides this feature is ncdu,
which you can install with the following command:
  sudo apt-get install ncdu

Then run ncdu from a directory that has sub-folders in it, with a command
like this:
  sudo ncdu /home/

Now use your arrow-keys (right and left) to navigate the folder
hierarchy (with less steps than mc offers currently for doing the same
  thing).

For example, if focus is currently on a particular folder, then hitting
the right-arrow-key would drill into that folder. Then, hitting the
left-arrow-key would go back to the parent folder.

This seems like an easy thing to implement, and I know others will
appreciate this feature too, if implemented.

[Bug 1274702] Re: Hyper-V KVP infrastructure not working properly

2014-01-31 Thread Abhishek Gupta
We are seeing this with both Ubuntu 12.10 and Ubuntu 13.10. The problems
are slightly different on the two versions as I mentioned above.

On Ubuntu 12.10, the default kernel version is 3.5.0-17 and the tools
package that is installed is linux-tools-3.5.0-45.

On Ubuntu 13.10, my setup shows kernel version 3.11.0-9 but tools show
3.11.0-12.

There is definitely such mismatch. Have you guys tested this on hyper-v?
Please let us know if you need more information.

Thanks,
Abhishek
