[Bug 1280149] Re: Add Bacula fork Bareos to repository
Although it is true that the Bacula git repo has not been updated for some time, there is a good reason, for more information, please see: http://www.bacula.org - News There is indeed a fork of Bacula, but that fork has only *one* former Bacula developer. Although, like other open source projects, developers come and go, I have been contacted by a number of former and current Bacula developers and they all remain with Bacula. I would appreciate it if people who make incorrect statements such as Most of the devlopers [sic] switched to the Bareos would take the time to investigate or simply look at the Bacula website before making such comments. You should realize that the Bareos fork has some serious problems, including copyright violations and alleged theft of proprietary code, so though anyone is free to download and use the Bareos release, you you will be downloading code that may contain code that Bareos has no right to release. On the other hand, Bacula's copyright is held by the Free Software Foundation, Europe, and I can assure you that all code in Bacula is used by written permission. Bacula has been under development for 14 years now and will continue so in the future at a pace that is faster than any fork that is created by one person in secret over a 3 year period. There will be another release of Bacula in the March-April time frame, which will have a lot of new features, many planned well before the fork. If you are the interested in the saga of the Bareos fork, please see the new Bacula website (under development) at: http://blog.bacula.org Kern Sibbald Bacula Project Manager -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bacula in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1280149 Title: Add Bacula fork Bareos to repository To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bacula/+bug/1280149/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1280149] Re: Add Bacula fork Bareos to repository
Since this is a request to package a new upstream source, this bug should be against Ubuntu generally, not against the existing bacula package in Ubuntu. I am triaging this bug from a neutral perspective. However, anybody working on this in Ubuntu should note that that Bacula Systems SA alleges that this upstream source (Bareos) contains non-free software with no appropriate licence and claims that a lawsuit was filed in December 2013 to resolve the matter. [Bug 1280370] [NEW] high latency between VMs in openstack using OVS
Public bug reported: SRU Justification: [Impact] * There is high latency when testing latency between VMs in an Openstack environment. * This affects OVS in P/Q. [Test Case] * Setup Openstack. * On a compute node create at least 15 tenants and add 50 instances (more instances show larger latencies). * From the Neutron node ping to a particular instance: ip netns exec qrouter-uuid ping -c 1 instance ip * We expect this latency to be similar to the latency from not using OVS. [Regression Potential] * The following patch from upstream OVS solves the issue: c37d4da4f0fd0190ea8fef97399df6d27ebf6ee2. * It requires 755be9ea9d7250edd37e1056362e08a7436f6983 to be backported as well since the 1.4.6 still uses sysfs to get carrier info (/sys/class/net/%s/carrier) instead of ioctl. Once we are using ioctls the second patch c37d4da4f0fd0190ea8fef97399df6d27ebf6ee2 reduces the number of times the ioctl is called from netdev_get_carrier(). * There has been testing already done with these two patches applied on top of 1.4.6 in precise. ** Affects: openvswitch (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Affects: openvswitch (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Medium Assignee: Chris J Arges (arges) Status: In Progress ** Affects: openvswitch (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Medium Assignee: Chris J Arges (arges) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: openvswitch (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: openvswitch (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu Precise) Assignee: (unassigned) = Chris J Arges (arges) ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu Quantal) Assignee: (unassigned) = Chris J Arges (arges) ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu Precise) Status: Triaged = In Progress ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu Quantal) Status: New = In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openvswitch in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1280370 Title: high latency between VMs in openstack using OVS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvswitch/+bug/1280370/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1068405] Re: catalina.properties use hard references to /var/lib/tomcat7/
The fix for this from Debian has broken the class loader. Per this bug report, /var/lib/tomcat7 should be replaced with ${catalina.base}, however it appears that when they fixed it they used ${catalina.home} instead. This affects all 3 loaders (common, server, shared) as defined in /etc/tomcat7/catalina.properties. As a result, placing files in /var/lib/tomcat7/common (or .../server or .../shared or any of their classes/ subfolders) will no longer result in them being loaded by tomcat. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I think it's entirely reasonable to change the ssh client to default to a more secure set of ciphers and MACs in newer releases, in order to make ssh connections more secure generally, and without information to the contrary it seems likely that this is what has happened in your case. Before we can evaluate whether this issue is a bug or not, I think it's necessary to understand what specifics ciphers and/or MACs we are talking about here. Please could you identify the minimal set of specifically what ciphers and MACs you had to enable to ssh to your server? Once done, please change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: openssh (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127 Title: ssh login no longer works over vpn To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/127/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1280496] [NEW] ed25519 host key not working on 6.5p1
Public bug reported: So I decided to test out the new ed25519 support on the new release of OpenSSH. I generated the necessary keys, added the HostKey line in sshd_config and restarted. [Bug 1279176] Re: IPv6 fails when interface type='direct', on top of OVS
Thanks for submitting this bug. It appears to me that 'interface type='direct'' works only for macvlan devices. This would require you to use a real physical NIC, as in: interface type='direct' source dev='eth0' mode='vepa'/ For instance see http://libvirt.org/formatdomain.html. So if there is a bug it would seem to me to be in virt-manager, not libvirt. I'm not sure virt-manager has been taught about ovs at all so this would be more of a missing feature than a bug. I'll mark thsi bug as affecting virt-manager, and mark it as a feature request ('confirmed/wishlist'). A fix for that bug would hide the issue here, but we should not crash in that case. When the incoming call is accepted another session is created for another dialer-app which for some reason is not launched. The final crash happens in unity-mir ApplicationManager::suspendApplication application_manager.cpp:226 (initiated by the user switching applications or going back to phone shell/launcher) when it tries to defocus and suspend the session. [Bug 111000] Re: Keyboard doesn't work within a java applet (Sun Secure Global Destop)
I can confirm this issue. I'm also running ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit. I am experiencing the same issue with the Oracle Secure Desktop mentioned. Using Firefox (version 27) and the IcedTea plugin for running applets. When logging in to the secure deskopt, the external desktop is displayed however the mouse/keyboard focus is never moved to the desktop window. At first I had the problem that the window displaying the external desktop was shown outside the actual dimensions of the active workspace. My guess was that mouse/keyboard issue was related to the incorrect display. I checked the Oracle support site for this. Oracle recommended adding the legacy support for full screen display using the compiz configuration manager. This solved the display issue by swapping the window with the remote desktop to full screen. However the mouse/keyboard is still not responding. Clicking and swithing back/forward between other applications does not resolve the issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111000 Title: Keyboard doesn't work within a java applet (Sun Secure Global Destop) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sun-java5/+bug/111000/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1280141] [NEW] Latest chromium upgrade have broken pepperflashplugin detection
Public bug reported: With that i386 Trusty installation, i was happily using pepperflashplugin as the unique flash installed package. But after i've upgraded to '32' a few days back (main trusty package), flash was no more detected (or pepper not compatible ?). Reinstalling it did not do better. [Bug 1280147] [NEW] As an occasional synaptic user I want the Find dialog to default to Look in: Description and Name at program start, to be able to find a package I look for without irritation.
Public bug reported: Not a bug, but usability. Most of the time I use apt-get for package management. Sometimes I use synaptic, especially when looking for packages, optional installs, desccriptions, screenshots, etc. I use the find dialog (Ctrl-F) very often.
