[Bug 1155169] Re: [HP Pavilion dm3-1109tu Entertainment Notebook PC] Brightness Keys not working after restarting system from Windows 7
chris, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-3.14-rc4 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. [Bug 874535] Re: Volume Slider Jumps, due to rapidly changing hardware jack sense state
Raymond, I thing you don't know what is my Linux level, I'd say beginner. So I went in the page you provided then in this page http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-tools.git;a=summary and I downloaded the first snapshot (2014-01-05) The I extracted the file. Now I'd guess I have to install but there is no readme/install to follow. There is no configure, make file to run, so I am stuck. Do you have a how-to? [Bug 1286488] [NEW] Installs special EGL implementation breaking, e.g. totem
Public bug reported: I installed android-tools-adbd, and was surprised when totem stopped working. It turns out that libhybris installs its own implementation of the alternative /etc/ld.so.conf.d/x86_64-linux-gnu_EGL.conf at a higher priority than the one from mesa, but the libhybris one is missing libraries such as libwayland-egl.so.1 It's clear that there's a complex interaction between packages here. It would be nice if it didn't lead to things breaking with missing libraries. [Bug 874535] Re: Volume Slider Jumps, due to rapidly changing hardware jack sense state
you should email the author since the source and ppa are already the latest version if you still got the bug take a look at the early patching https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound.git/tree/Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio.txt Node 0x1b [Pin Complex] wcaps 0x40058f: Stereo Amp-In Amp-Out Pincap 0x0001373e: IN OUT HP EAPD Detect Trigger Vref caps: HIZ 50 GRD 80 100 EAPD 0x2: EAPD Pin Default 0x02214c20: [Jack] HP Out at Ext Front Conn = 1/8, Color = Green DefAssociation = 0x2, Sequence = 0x0 you use need to set bit 8 of the pin default of the headphone to indicate that this pin complex has no jack detection circuit by early patching [pincfg] 0x1b 0x2214d20 the driver create front headphone phantom jack instead of front headphone jack and won't enable unsolicited event to report the headphone state when the headphone is plugged/unplugged The hd-audio driver reads the file via request_firmware(). Thus, a patch file has to be located on the appropriate firmware path, typically, /lib/firmware. For example, when you pass the option `patch=hda-init.fw`, the file /lib/firmware/hda-init.fw must be present. The patch module option is specific to each card instance, and you need to give one file name for each instance, separated by commas. For example, if you have two cards, one for an on-board analog and one for an HDMI video board, you may pass patch option like below: options snd-hda-intel patch=on-board-patch,hdmi-patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874535 Title: Volume Slider Jumps, due to rapidly changing hardware jack sense state To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/874535/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1286496] [NEW] most Nautilus features inaccessible to HUD since no menu
Public bug reported: After GNOME re-design of Nautilus, there is only one menu left in Nautilus, with some rarely used entries like About, Preferences, etc. The rest of the features are move to toolbar button/menus. As a results, many of Nautilus features, like Open a New Tab, Sort by Name/Type/Date, and Open in Terminal cannot be accessed through HUD. All of them require mouse clicks or shortcut keys. My suggestion is to define new menu entries for Nautilus and populate it with the functionalities that are currently only available via the toolbar buttons. Menu entries like Files, Edit, View, and Help can do the job. [Bug 1285958] [NEW] Reccuring Alarm can't be set for sunday
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Recurring alarm can be set on Sunday. It works on all other days properly. Steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Open the alarms tab 2. Enable the repeat switch to set the alarm type as recurring 3. Choose Sunday and also a couple of other days in the add alarms day dialog 4. Save alarm What happens: In the alarm page, it does not not show Sunday. It shows every other day you may have chosen in the add alarms day dialog. What should happen: The alarm page lists all the chosen days of the recurring alarm. Facts: Currently the clock app is at rev 362. I branches the clock app at rev 243 to check if this was caused by any recent commits in the clock app. However this bug was reproducible even at rev 243. I also repeated the steps in the sample alarm app provided by the SDK at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-sdk-team/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/trunk/files/head:/tests/resources/alarm/ and I can see reproduce the alarm indicating that either the SDK or EDS broke things. ** Affects: ubuntu-clock-app Importance: High Assignee: Zsombor Egri (zsombi) Status: Confirmed ** Affects: qtorganizer5-eds (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Tags: alarms clock dogfooding-blocker elopio qa-new -- Reccuring Alarm can't be set for sunday https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1285958 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1286513] [NEW] No indication that the emulator is still starting up
Public bug reported: On first run of the (arm) emulator, it takes a very long time to start up, and while starting up, it shows merely an Ubuntu Edge with a black screen.
