[Bug 1032633] Re: Keystone's token table grows unconditionally when using SQL backend.
A CLI command is an interesting stopgap, but on a heavily utilized OpenStack installation with automated tools operating against OpenStack, this has a high manual maintenance cost. Surely there is some better default that lies in the middle ground between keeping tokens for ever and ever and requiring a manual removal of tokens? As a reference point, I wasn't even aware this was an issue, until one of our test deployments of grizzly using a limited IO system started acting horribly (30 second response times). After tracing the problem from nova to keystone to mysql, I found a 442,000 row token table with 440,000 expired tokens. I went and checked our havana test on a somewhat beefier system and found 1M rows. [Bug 1032633] Re: Keystone's token table grows unconditionally when using SQL backend.
That seems reasonable. I would suggest adding that as a step to the OpenStack setup documentation. No one has infinite database space, eventually all used OpenStack installations will suffer unless this is done. Regardless of what component (or person) has to complete the task, they'll need to be aware of it. I would prefer to see some kind of automatically expire old tokens configuration option so that the maintenance of keystone stays in keystone - whether that be implemented as a expire-on-access query or cron-derived mechanism, but re-implementing cron is not great and a purge tagged on to other operations could cause a slowdown on those operations. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to keystone in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1032633 Title: Keystone's token table grows unconditionally when using SQL backend. [Bug 1288096] Re: missing drivers on trusty iso for virtualbox
@jsalisbury I think this is more important than just a wishlist. Bundling a driver for ANY other hardware platform wont be relegated to a wishlist status. I''m sorry If I come across as petulant and rude ( :P ) but I believe this is VERY important for two reasons: 1) easy debugging by regular users. (Try making a fresh install and doing anything with the unity based ubuntu.. waiting for any of the lousy animations appear in slow motion makes one want to just shut it and give up) 2) There a vast number of new users who don't use ubuntu because they are scared it will eat their hard drive (and they are right to be scared, I've seen it happen all too often even as late as one month ago despite the improvements we make to the install process) Even if they do make a dual boot, they never use it because it is a pain rebooting each time they need a windows app. I think being able to recommend virtual box to these souls at the very fringes of salvation is a good thing. All it requires is that 3 extra packages totaling just over 1MB to be dropped into the CD so that they can be detected and installed automatically if someone uses virtualbox. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1288096 Title: missing drivers on trusty iso for virtualbox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1288096/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1270692] Re: Adding SIP account fails
Lars, thank you for reporting back. The packages you mentioned are not Ubuntu packages and are actually packaged VERY differently. So, that information is not helpful to determine the state of the Ubuntu packages. Between, you and me, I'd always be very careful with upstream packaging their own software. Coders do not always understand packaging very well. And sometimes simple mistakes can have wide-ranging effects and even screwing up your whole OS. Again, the jitsi upstream packages are VERY different from what is in Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1270692 Title: Adding SIP account fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jitsi/+bug/1270692/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1302958] [NEW] Synaptic doesn't close properly after exiting from enter password window
Public bug reported: OS: Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit with Unity, fully updated Reproducible: always How to reproduce the bug: 1) Pin the Synaptic package manager to the Unity launcher 2) Click on the Synaptic icon 3) There will appear a window, which asks for your password 4) Close that window 5) The Synaptic icon on the Unity launcher will have pulsing light for 5-10 sec (this is the animation that Unity launcher uses when the app is launching) and you can't launch Synaptic by clicking on that icon during the pulsing light animation. Expected behaviour: 5) The synaptic icon on the Unity launcher gets back to default state immediately and the icon acts as if the Synaptic was closed. So you can just click on the icon and launch Synaptic again. Important: such issue with Synaptic doesn't happen with other DEs like LXDE or XFCE I can provide more info if needed. apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: On my 64-bit installation, setting OpenGL 1.2, 2.0, or 3.1 when using kernel 3.13.0-21 causes KWin to crash. [Bug 1302957] Re: Unable to install apps(deb files) from browser via Software center
I had the same problem installing Google Chrome. Downloaded the google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb from the Google site. Tried to in install via Ubuntu Software Centre. Clicked the Install Icon, the install bar started to run and then after few seconds it reverts back to the Install icon. I tried it a couple of times. Once it actually asked me my password to install as well, but then again reverted back to the Install icon. A search gave me the indications where I: 1. Opened a terminal. 2. cd Downloads the deb file waqs downloaded to that folder 3. I then ran this command: sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb. This worked perfectly and Google Grome was installed. There is definately a bug with the software centre. Also - if you click the option where it can recommend something - the next time you run Software Centre it is unselected -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1302957 Title: Unable to install apps(deb files) from browser via Software center To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1302957/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

apport information ** Attachment added: WifiSyslog.txt https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301570/+attachment/4067019/+files/WifiSyslog.txt ** Description changed: On my 64-bit installation, setting OpenGL 1.2, 2.0, or 3.1 when using kernel 3.13.0-21 causes KWin to crash. I'm forced to use XRender instead. This is also occurs using kernel 3.13.0-20. OpenGL 1.2 and 2.0 works fine and does not crash KWin when using kernel 3.13.0-19. On my 32-bit installation, OpenGL 1.2 and 2.0 works fine with KWin when using any of these three kernels.
