[Bug 1328100] [NEW] products_condense doesnt seem to work as desired
Public bug reported: bad description, but I have a example data and test. [Bug 1194074] Re: Default index.html blindly overwritten
Will Ubuntu fix the package, or does it need to be done by the Debian maintainer? Whether it needs fixing or not is a matter of debate. Personally, I agree with you, but this isn't a reason in itself to make a change. I would prefer to see consensus across Debian and Ubuntu, and am unwilling to advocate a change in Ubuntu's nginx packaging against Debian's opinion on this point. Since Ubuntu follows Debian's direction by default, this needs to be taken up in Debian in the first instance. If you want to argue the point, then I suggest that you do it in the Debian bug. Failing this, I think we need a specific reason to diverge in Ubuntu (as opposed to just a reason why Debian is wrong), since this commits Ubuntu developers to increased ongoing maintenance, and commits users to confusion because the two behave differently. Is there perhaps some kind of middle ground? What if Debian shipped a README in /usr/share/nginx/www/ which prominently states that the directory will be overwritten on upgrade? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nginx in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1194074 Title: Default index.html blindly overwritten To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/1194074/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Closes: #730837 * Ship krb5-config.mit binary in krb5-multidev., Closes: #745322 * Provide -L and -I flags from pkg-config files. Closes: #750041 [ Sam Hartman ] * Include upstream patch to load gss mechanisms from /etc/gss/mech.d, Closes: #673680 * Sysconfdir explicitly set to /etc * Include ubuntu change to permit libverto-libevent1 (not currently built in Debian) as an alternative for the KDC. For now just reduces diff with Ubuntu. Next libverto upload will probably start building that for Debian too. * Do not cause endless loop when a mechanism fails to include gss_add_cred_from or other new methods (upstream #7926) * Include /etc/gss/mech.d/README * Low urgency to give extra time in unstable * Update symbols for gss_indicate_mechs -- Sam Hartman Wed, 04 Jun 2014 12:09:56 -0400 ** Also affects: krb5 (Ubuntu Trusty) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: krb5 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Triaged ** Changed in: krb5 (Ubuntu Trusty) Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: krb5 (Ubuntu Trusty) Milestone: None = ubuntu-14.04.1 ** Changed in: krb5 (Ubuntu Trusty) Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: krb5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to krb5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1326500 Title: libgssapi-krb5-2: segfault when mechglue loops endlessly on call to gss_add_cred_from To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/krb5/+bug/1326500/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1287726] Re: Wrong evaluation whether json is valid or not
On a fundamental level, the provided replacement doesn’t match PHP Documentation about behaviour. Json_decode() is described to return NULL on invalid UTF-8 sequence, and set an error message of JSON_ERROR_UTF8. Current behaviour with json-c is returns JSON_OK, and returns an invalid string that cannot be used in any PHP Intl function, database, without throwing exceptions or generating invalid data that can’t be easily fixed in the database. (Or, it throws more exceptions) Thus, properly coded applications that expect the result of any JSON data to be able be used throughout the application are now able to be exploited or to crash by sending invalid JSON data, whereas before a “if (json_last_error() !== JSON_OK)” or even “if (!$decodedJson) /// No Request ” would cleanly filter these degenerate strings. This affects 100% of code that uses json_decode(). As it stands, attempting to deploy this out will generate too many errors, and possibly create attack vectors for allowing invalid UTF-8 sequences through. All the code in ZF2, Apigility, and presumably others where the decoding of the HTTP POST Request expect invalid UTF-8 sequences to be caught by the json_decode, and thus the values are used internally as valid UTF-8 without any additional checking on the content before passing it to other methods, functions, databases, etc. All PHP functions that deal with internationalization require a valid UTF-8 input string, any string that makes it past any API controller, thus generates many errors due to invalid UTF-8 sequences, whereas before it was caught by the decoded request being NULL = . At least in our case, the only viable solution was to recompile php-json from the PHP sources, and deploy that to our server-farms nationwide. However, I would assume that 95% of the end-users of Ubuntu will not realise that 100% of their user-input JSON cannot be used with any framework out of the box, and should be wrapped with a $userInput = json_decode($rawJson); $userInput = (json_encode($userInput) === false) ? NULL : $userInput; // Required to ensure compatibility with jsonc And this MUST be done on every instance of a json-decoded variable otherwise hard-to-track bugs and potential attack-vectors are exposed. To fix many frameworks, the workaround code will now have to check every response as JSON_OK no longer means “decode OK, valid UTF-8”. In addition, requiring a valid JSON request to the API will no longer be providing clean filtered input to the controllers, as before the framework would generate a Input required (!empty($json)) or Request contained invalid UTF-8 sequence (JSON_ERROR_UTF8). But, now, all invalid input is passed back to the code that was coded so that these cases would never be an issue. As we are a large ISP, we have test cases to test for invalid input, and attack vectors, but I would assume that the majority of users DO NOT have testing for these cases which are defined by PHP DOCUMENTATION as NOT POSSIBLE. As, which sensible user will double check that JSON_OK is in fact an error condition? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php-json in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1287726 Title: Wrong evaluation whether json is valid or not To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php-json/+bug/1287726/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1327958] [NEW] Sometimes X.org failed on system start
Public bug reported: System is booting up. Then I see ubuntu logo. Then it disappears and screen is blinking during one second. Then I see the message in the window like 'System can't start in full graphical mode'. I press 'ok' button. And I see window which asks me to decide which action to do next: 'proceed load in recovery graphics mode', 'restore settings', 'archive logs', 'see startup error messages' etc... So I decided to archive logs and I've attached them to this bug report. I also tried to restore settings by clicking on corresponding menu item in the window. But when I click 'OK' after recovery option selection nothing happens. When I am clicked on menu item with message like 'proceed with recovery graphical mode' ( I don't remember correct messages text ) then system asks me to wait for minute and seems hangs. After one or two tries to recover xorg settings from recovery mode I can boot up again. I've met this issues for the first time after I've removed nvidia drivers. Why have I deleted them? :) Because brightness adjustment was available in too small brightness range. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: Logs that I've collected from recovery mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1327958/+attachment/4127908/+files/failsafeX-backup-140609085504.tar -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1327958 Title: Sometimes X.org failed on system start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1327958/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1327971] [NEW] libm log function: always unreferenced
Public bug reported: For this simple code: #include math.h int main(void) { log(0.0); return 0; } when compiled with `gcc -lm foo.c`, you would always get the following error message: /tmp/ccTTLEYA.o: In function `main': foo.c:(.text+0x9): undefined reference to `log' collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status which doesn't make sense. I tried the same code to be compiled with `clang -lm foo.c`, which compiles successfully. Also, I tried the same code on a RHEL 6 machine with gcc, which compiles successfully. [Bug 1327648] Re: Hibernate option disappeared from GUI
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 third-party-packages ubuntu ** Description changed: I previously enabled hibernation following this SwapFAQ wiki: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwapFaq#How_do_I_add_more_swap.3F It was working alright until the hibernate option suddenly decided to disappear. It's no longer in the menu in the top right corner or the options that show up when pressing the power button. sudo pm-hibernate also does not work now! This maybe a cause of some Ubuntu updates, but I am not sure.
