[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates

2014-06-15 Thread Colum Gaynor
@Harmut (hesse-hsr)
Thank you! I just tried your "hacking fix" and it works very nicely indeed
:) .
Now the bluetooth headset shows up fine in the sound settings panel
and I can switch on A2DP profile; without problems.

Incidently, I did not encounter the reported Blueman crash, which
   @Hartwig Kolbe reported.

Hopefully Blueman developers will finally try to issue a permanent fix!
Thanks again also to @David for his discovery of the failure root cause.
- Colum

[Bug 172390]

2014-06-15 Thread Tobias-leupold
> the current maintainer is not working on this
Why?! 19 comments on a 9 year old bug and the maintainer is not interested to
fix it? Is there a good reason for not fixing this bug? The argumentation above
why kdm should change it's current behavior is completely reasonable to me. I
think the only reason why not more people request this is that most KDE
installations are single-user ones so most of the user don't run into this and
simply don't notice this bug/feature lack.

Well … I don't work at a (IT) company, I'm just a dentist with personal
not being as fit as me in IT ;-) I'll have a look at the sources.
Perhaps, I can fix it myself (although I don't code much Qt/C++/KDE).

Anyways, this shouldn't be too hard to fix, should it? A simple warning
popping up would already be sufficient.

Also I tried this card with Debian wheezy + kernel image 3.14.1 from debian
unstable - and card works fine, firmware loaded successfully in a second. So I
think it's a specific bug in kernel.

[Bug 1330177] [NEW] [3.2] KVM: x86: emulate movdqa

2014-06-15 Thread Anton Nayshtut
Public bug reported:

[SRU Justification]

[Explanation]
movdqa emulation is not supported in kernel 3.2, so it's relevant only for
Precise 3.2 kernels.

[Impact]
Without movdqa emulation the MS SVVP "PCI Hardware Compliance Test for Systems"
fails for Windows 2012 VM.

This test fails and hangs the VM to the point that the VM becomes
unusable.

[Test Case]
Windows 2012 Guest VMs running "PCI Hardware Compliance Test for Systems" SVVP
test.

[Bug 1330172] [NEW] Unallocated space on one of two drives not offered for installation

2014-06-15 Thread Ross Gammon
Public bug reported:

I am trying to install the Ubuntu Studion Utopic (14.10) Daily Build ISO (of a
week or so ago) onto some spare space of my main PC to assist the Ubuntu Studio
team. However, I never get offered the drive with the spare space (neither in
the automatic calculation of installation options, nor in the "something else"
manual partitioning). Here is a rough outline of my set up:
- sda1-6 500GB Debian Testing
- sda 7 500GB UNALLOCATED
- sdb1-6 500GB Ubuntu 14.04 (my main working setup)
- sdb 7 500GB Debian Wheezy

Steps:
1. Boot into Ubuntu Studio 14.10 Daily Build Live DVD
2. Choose "install to disk" option
3. Select English, Click to get updates & non-free stuff, & continue
4. At the partitioning options screen, only sdb seems to be part of the
calculation. Here is what is offered:
- Reinstall Ubuntu 14.04
- Erase Ubuntu 14.04
- Erase whole disk
- Something Else
Sda is completely ignored, except that it is the default option for installing
the bootloader (which is where it currently is).
5. Choose "something else"
Only the partitions on sdb (and my sdc USB for backing up to) are visible, and
there is no possibility of selecting sda.
6. Press Quit
7. In the Live Environment, run Gparted from the menu.
It can see everything including the unallocated space on sda.
8. Run ubiquity --debug from terminal
I will try and attach /var/log/installer/debug to the log.

[Bug 1330171] [NEW] 4th slide become much bigger therefore some buttons become unvisible on following slides

2014-06-15 Thread Serpico
Public bug reported:

during install with xubuntu 14.10 daily build downloaded yesterday ( 20140614

[Bug 1330141] Re: Aptana Studio 3 causes xserver to crash

2014-06-15 Thread halfbeing
I now suspect that the issue may be something to do with Open Java. I
switched to Oracle Java this morning and so far I have not had a crash,
although it is still early days. I will let you know if I do get another
xserver crash.

However I am leaving this as an xorg bug because a misbehaving Java
environment should not be able to bring the xserver down.

[Bug 1330167] [NEW] opensc-pkcs11.so should have a link in /usr/lib/

Public bug reported:

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opensc-pkcs11.so exists on amd64; however,
most examples of it feature it in /usr/lib/ on guides online.

[Bug 1288747] Re: [334] Parts of the UI randomly flicker when moving the mouse

2014-06-15 Thread Francisco Disraeli
As another data point, I too am experiencing system freezes
sporadically. Similar time spans to John. I find that switching to vc1
with Ctrl-Alt-F1, and then switching back to X thaws the freeze. When I
switch back to X from vc1, the screen is black, but once I open the
dash, parts of the screen are redrawn again and the computer becomes
usuable.

This is a GTX 750 Ti. I am happy to provide any details. I'm not sure
how to debug any further myself.

[Bug 1330161] [NEW] lightdm display freezes

2014-06-15 Thread Frederik Hanghøj Iversen
Public bug reported:

So, my guess is that the issue is with the display manager, but to be
honest I'm not entirely sure.

My issue is that sometimes the display freezes. Nothing moves on the
screen yet the mouse and keyboard is still activated and - i pressume -
everything else is running smoothly. I know this because when it happens
I jump back and forth between one of the other tty's (with
Ctrl+Alt+f{1..6}] and when the display is refreshed (possibly by forcing
the screen to be redrawn, e.g. clicking the super-key) eveything looks
ok.

I'm on 14.04

Public bug reported:

When I connecting to wifi icon is animating but when it find access
point it change to No connecting it take a while, and then it got the
icon that indicate how strong the connection is.

It's little annoying because it look the same no matter if it's
connected or stop trying. I got no connection icon for both cases (when
it's connected it got right icon but not right away).

It was working correctly, don't remember when this issue appear.

[Bug 1330121] [NEW] simple scan crashes on startup

2014-06-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Mint 17 + cinnamon 64 bit, up to date levels 1 to 3
Intel core 2 Duo CPU E8500, 4Gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics card.
Cinnamon ver 2.2.13, kernel 3.13.0-24-generic

When starting simple scan a window is briefly displayed on the screen
before disapearing, the window should stay open so I can use the
application. Happens each time simple scan is run.

Removing and reinstalling had the same result.

Worked on the same computer with Mint 14 + cinnamon 64 bit.

Removing simple scan and installing version 2.31.1 works as expected.

Thanks to all the developers,
Tim

Hello all,

Is it possible to describe step #1 in Suthars solution (= "downgrading the

(step by step) for this beginner?
How do I download and install 3 new kernel files exactly?
(Steps 2 etc I can understand, only step #1 is too abstract).

Thanks in advance, I really want to use Ubuntu on my Acer C720,
but the boot (1 minute) indeed is too slow.

[Bug 1330152] [NEW] touchegg guestures not recognized in root window

2014-06-15 Thread Michael Johnson
Public bug reported:

The summary pretty much says it all. This is a known bug in touchegg
1.1.1 and it is fixed in SVN trunk. This is documented at the following
URL:

https://code.google.com/p/touchegg/issues/detail?id=177

I've confirmed this myself by doing an svn checkout
http://touchegg.googlecode.com/svn/touchegg/ and compiling it.

This is not an usb_modeswitch problem, it is a usb core or hub driver problem.
It causes a device connect/disconnect/connect/disconnect loop not only for the

[Bug 1199059] Re: blueman and pulse's module-bluetooth-discover (A2DP audio sink devices failed to work with "bluetoothd : Unable to select SEP" in system log.)

2014-06-15 Thread Mark Rijckenberg
I uninstalled blueman, installed pavucontrol, reboot my PC and then
turned on my bluetooth speaker to solve this issue.

I also believe that blueman is the main culprit and that blueman keeps
unloading the module-bluetooth-discover module.

So I agree with remark #28 in this thread.
