Created one public PPA so the SRU proposal can be tested before asking for sponsorship: https://launchpad.net/~inaddy/+archive/ubuntu/lp1353473 # apt-add-repository ppa:inaddy/lp1353473 # apt-get update # apt-get dist-upgrade * attention: this will replace current trusty pacemaker version: pacemaker_1.1.10+git20130802-1ubuntu2 * to version: pacemaker_1.1.10+git20130802-1ubuntu3 * because versioning is already ready for the SRU proposal. * to get back to current trusty version you will have to remove * the pacemaker by hand and install it again (maybe ignoring * dependencies if you don't want to reinstall hole clustering * packages). After upgrading to version: pacemaker_1.1.10+git20130802-1ubuntu3 Anyone who is suffering for this issue can try to # crm node standby node again and check if ldmd stops monitoring resources on nodes put to standby. [Bug 1353792] [NEW] Detect renamed files and handle by renaming instead of delete/re-send
Public bug reported: There has been a report in rsync[0] about this issue since 2005, some patches has been developed detect-renamed[1] and detect-renamed-lax[2] to target the issue, I think it would be great if Ubuntu could patch itself rsync to provide such feature. I've updated those[3] patches[4] to apply to the latest rsync package (3.1.1) and they're working great in my own setup, I also put them in a ppa[5] for further testing. The patches aren't intrusive, they provide some extra flags (--detect-renamed, --detec-moved and --detect-renamed- lax) so I think it shouldn't be disastrous for those who won't use the extra features. [Bug 1353734] Re: Permission denied when creating semaphore in ubuntu-cloud container
Thanks for submitting this bug. The problem is due to /run/shm not existing in the cloud images. The ubuntu-cloud image fixes the /dev/shm by doing: if [ ! -L $rootfs/dev/shm ] [ -d $rootfs/run/shm ] [ -e $rootfs/dev/shm ]; then mv $rootfs/dev/shm $rootfs/dev/shm.bak ln -s /run/shm $rootfs/dev/shm fi The second test fails because $rootfs/run/shm does not exist. Since /run/shm will be created at runtime, I see no reason not to drop the second part of the test. I'll suggest that to the list - there may be reasons I'm not considering. ** Summary changed: - Permission denied when creating semaphore in container + Permission denied when creating semaphore in ubuntu-cloud container ** Changed in: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: lxc (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1353734 Title: Permission denied when creating semaphore in ubuntu-cloud container To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1353734/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1353803] [NEW] After HWE update for 12.04.4 suggested by ubuntu nvidia grpahics is broken-no video for xserver
Public bug reported: After update for HWE for hardware compatibility in future because my hardware would not be supported in future my nvidia graphics driver would not load and hence no xserver. I contacted nvidia and they are aware of the problem casued by ubuntu kernel update in 3.13.0. THey suggested I install the nvidia 304.xx package. so i removed the nvidia-173 drivers and installed the nvidia-304 package deb. I got a video back, but now I have lost the password synchronization from several accounts - spaecifically my admin account and working account. How do I fix this problem? Additionally, this should not be happening. not that it will do any good here, but I must say, I am not ipressed lately with the amount of updates and security fixes. THis is getting worse than the Microsoft world. As well, I would not be having to know how to get around on the command line - very frustrating. Seriously, I have better uses for my time. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-304 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1353803 Title: After HWE update for 12.04.4 suggested by ubuntu nvidia grpahics is broken-no video for xserver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1353803/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Christopher, could you verify if Crossover is adding StartupWMClass to the .desktop files it creates manually? As I understand it Crossover has specific installer scripts for the various applications it supports, so munging the desktop file in a way Wine doesn't generally do in order to workaround the Unity issue is totally plausible. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32699 ** Bug watch added: Wine Bugzilla #32699 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32699 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1103833 Title: Wine's icon and description appears for all Windows applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1103833/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1353808] [NEW] [ACER V5-171] SD card reader not working
Public bug reported: Tested card was a 64GB SDXC from supertalent and Lexar 16GB SDHC. In both cases nothing happens when cards are inserted, and after 10seconds dmesg shows: mmc0: Timeout waiting for hardware interrupt. This seems to be a common problem in ubuntu with the Broadcom Corporation BCM57765/57785 SDXC/MMC Card Reader. This was using ubuntu 14.04 with 3.13.0-32-generic #57-Ubuntu SMP I also tried the newest daily build (6th august) of the 3.16 kernel(utopic), no change in results. The bios is the newest version V2.21, I have earlier been told to use the newer 2.25, however, there is no such BIOS version and 2.21 is the newest posted on the acer webspace. [Bug 1308895] Re: Please merge usb-modeswitch from Debian unstable - Huawei E3531 does not automatically switches to modem mode (no udev rules for this modem in Ubuntu's /lib/udev/rules.d)
@ Saurabh Sharma Your E3531s is a new version, its 3 serial interfaces should be supported by the option.ko driver in Mint17 but the direct ethernet interface is not, it was added to net drivers two weeks ago so will be supported from kernel 3.17. Please do: cat /proc/bus/usb/devices and verify that option driver has bound to 3 interfaces. If it has then you should be able to use the dongle in ppp dialup modem mode until you get an updated kernel with driver support for the net interface If option driver hasn't bound then you'll have to load it manually: modprobe usb_wwan modprobe option -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308895 Title: Please merge usb-modeswitch from Debian unstable - Huawei E3531 does not automatically switches to modem mode (no udev rules for this modem in Ubuntu's /lib/udev/rules.d) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-modeswitch/+bug/1308895/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1001976] Re: ICA Client (wfica): Citrix (Receiver) incomplete and not well integrated into Ubuntu Software Center
This is still not properly integrated into Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (especially noting how it has been advertised for years, see above): The user has to find http://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix- receiver/linux/receiver-for-linux-130.html and be knowledgeable about CPU architectures to navigate his or her way past the ARM opening by default to AMD64 (even on Intel) or x86, then know to look for a .deb archive (i.e. be acquainted with Ubuntu's upstream and the package management thereof) and get past the pop-up suggesting some secure downloader to manually retrieve the archive. Then on icaclient_13.0.0.256735_amd64.deb Ubuntu Software Center will report the following anyway: icaclient Citrix Receiver for Linux Dependency is not satisfiable: ia32-libs (cf. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2176616#post12798626 on this one: 'ia32-libs is past being phased out, it's gone.') Just in case anyone's wondering: Counterintuitively trying to use icaclient_13.0.0.256735_i386.deb on 64-bit will hit another block at the same point: Cannot install 'libwebkitgtk-1.0-0:i386' That's worlds away from what a user of remote managed desktops can be expected to figure out solutions for. [Bug 492782] Re: [i945gme] Mouse cursor disappears after restarting screen (xrandr / resume)
This bug is alive and kicking on xubuntu 14 !! It shows everytime I close and reopen the lid of my Asus portable, sending it in Suspend Mode and back to ordinary life.
