[Bug 1291321] Re: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty
That's awesome. I just got a chance to test it out, and with a couple hiccups (below), I seem to have successfully migrated a guest from a precise host to a new trusty one. It looks like qemu failed to build in Serge's PPA due to the spice that also lives in that PPA. I built the qemu from the source in that PPA, and it built without modification. I also got 'pci_add_option_rom: failed to find romfile pxe- virtio.rom.12.04' the first time I did the migration with libvirt; a symlink seems to have papered over that problem. libvirt is passing virtio-net-pci.romfile=pxe-virtio.rom.12.04, but nothing provides that file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1291321 Title: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1291321/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1354995] [NEW] package samba-libs (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: I really do not know what program had the problem. I get an error message when I log into my Ubuntu account. So, I just tried to update software, as usual, but got a message that it could not do it. So, I do not know how to solve this problem. The Software Updater error says, The Package System is Broken. Check if you are using third party repositories. If so disable them since they are a common source of problems. Furthermore run the following command in a terminal: apt-get install -f. Then in addition to this there is another pop-up window that says, Crash Report The application software updater has closed unexpectedly. I had not used this computer for a long time. The computer has turned off unexpectedly. I was told that this might be due to overheating. So, I have not used it for a long time. [Bug 1314198] Re: [Asus X550LC] Touchpad not Recognized in ubuntu 14.04
Hi, I'm experiencing the same issue described by users here -- the trackpad is not recognized on my ASUS D550MA-DS01. xinputs --list shows no trackpad, and running synclient returns 'Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?'. I resort to using an external USB mouse, and run 'sudo modprobe -r psmouse' after booting to prevent random/unpredictable input occurring when I brush against/click the trackpad. I've tried with a number of linux kernels, Ubuntu releases, and other distributions. The fix suggested by Hans (booting the kernel with psmouse.proto=bare) was successful. Re: [Bug 1354109] Re: Doesn't allow entry of same-sex marriages
On 08/10/2014 12:42 AM, Duncan Lithgow wrote: I just check and there's nothing to stop you creating a family in GRAMPS in which both parts are of the same sex. The only part I can find which is a problem is that one part is referred to as the mother and one as the father. Duncan Yes - thanks Duncan for mentioning that workaround. For 4.0.4, I found if I wanted to add an existing person to a family of the wrong gender, they cannot be added (they do not appear in the list). First you have to edit the person to be the correct gender for a traditional family to force them to appear in the list. Then afterwards you can change the gender back to the real gender. If you are entering new people into a family, you can easily add the new person as a male wife, or a female husband. But then as you say, one of the males will be listed as wife (if it is an all male couple), and this will be the case in all generated reports. One of the suggestions in the linked Gramps feature request bug is to refer to the person as a spouse rather than wife or husband if it is a same-sex marriage. [Bug 1332489] Re: [Dell Inspiron 5547] AMD Radeon R7 M260 [1002:6900] Unable to resume from suspend with fglrx
I had the very same probem on a Toshiba Satellite L50-B-166 that has the same GPU. I've installed the beta driver as suggested in #3 and the problem seems to be fixed now (just suspended and resumed successfully). Note that to install that driver I needed to switch to the AMD adapter via amdcccle and reboot otherwise the installer believed no supported GPU were present. I'd say fixed upstream. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1332489 Title: [Dell Inspiron 5547] AMD Radeon R7 M260 [1002:6900] Unable to resume from suspend with fglrx To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1332489/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1354812] [NEW] Header actions text is cut off
Public bug reported: See the attached screenshot. - Expected: actions drop-down expands to fit the contained text. Alternatively, the documentation warns about a maximum character size. [Bug 1250488] Re: [Acer Aspire V3-571G] USB hub stopped working on a given USB port (would work on any other port). Reboot fixed the issue
Same shit as usual. I take my time to report a critical bug, which cripples the OS entirely. Instead of looking into it, it gets changed to incomplete just because the original reporter (i.e. me) is not going to undergo the risky procedure of updating the bios, so the bug expires and get ignored forever. [Bug 1277146] Re: mount -o loop.... changes the udf image
It seems to be not a bug, according to the answers to that question linked in the previous post. The iso file is not mounted read only - even if the iso image file may be read only. That allows for changes in the metadata of the iso file - even if the files in the iso filesystem can not be changed. Adding the mount option ro to explicitly mount read only prevents the changes of the iso or udf image file, solving the problem: sudo mount -o ro,loop testimage.iso /mnt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1277146 Title: mount -o loop changes the udf image To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kernel-package/+bug/1277146/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
