I also see that even when I open .tar.gz files kio_tar is started and does not terminate when the file manager is closed. However, I'm able to unmount the media in this case. The reason I believe this occurs is that when handling ZIP files, kio_tar does not close the opened file handle. Whereas, when handling .tar.gz files, it closes the handle properly. Many users may not experience this because, after around 15 seconds, the kio_tar is automatically terminated thus the file is closed. If you try putting a .zip file in a USB key, then mount it and open it using KIO, then close the file manager and immediately try to unmount the USB media, I'm sure you can reproduce this bug. [Bug 1301843] Re: Terminator window shrinks while trying to reduce font size with CTRL - in split window
Don't know if it's related, but recently (last week or so) I've had it re-size when I open it, nothing else. The first few times it went to a few pixels wide, maybe 10. More recently it seems to stop around 90px. For me it's width only, height remains the same. If it makes a difference, I was trying out different desktop gui's, unity's so darned heavy... I tried: lubuntu-desktop, awesome xfce4 (settled on xfce, but the bug occurs in unity too.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301843 Title: Terminator window shrinks while trying to reduce font size with CTRL - in split window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/terminator/+bug/1301843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1363603] [NEW] Steam client for Linux hanging on
Public bug reported: Hello I'm using the latest Steam Client on linux but the issue was the same with the previous versions current version built : aug 28 2014 at 03:25:10 steam API : V016 steam package version : 1409240101 Some timesn the Steam Gui seems to want to stay always at the first plan and every click on the mouse on another application (Firefox, Thunderbird, any others), also the Unity launcher is frozen; put me back on the steam window. I've contacted the steam support and they said : Steam Support is currently unable to provide assistance with the Steam for Linux beta client. I suppose than means they only supports SteamOS which I don't want to get, still fine with Ubuntu. [Bug 1348890] Re: Asus UX32LN: Brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't generate evdev event
Hi, I have tried the acpi_osi boot parameter and now the brightness keys work. Thank you! Asus F551M hasn't an ambient light sensor. So, with this boot parameter (for brightness keys), options snd-hda- intel model=asus position_fix=1 in alsa-base.conf (for headphones) and updating to kernel 3.16 (for card reader), all computer devices works in Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1348890 Title: Asus UX32LN: Brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't generate evdev event To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1348890/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
