curl: (60) SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate
More details here: http://curl.haxx.se/docs/sslcerts.html

curl performs SSL certificate verification by default, using a bundle
of Certificate Authority (CA) public keys (CA certs). If the default
bundle file isn't adequate, you can specify an alternate file
 using the --cacert option.
If this HTTPS server uses a certificate signed by a CA represented in
the bundle, the certificate verification probably failed due to a
problem with the certificate (it might be expired, or the name might
not match the domain name in the URL).
If you'd like to turn off curl's verification of the certificate, use
 the -k (or --insecure) option.

[Bug 1381359] Re: [SRU] ship new public cert

2014-10-15 Thread Dustin Kirkland 
After updated package:

kirkland@x230:~⟫ sudo pollinate -r
[sudo] password for kirkland:
Oct 15 09:40:38 x230 pollinate[7392]: system was previously seeded at
[2014-10-15 09:36:58.285035647 +0200]

Oct 15 09:40:39 x230 pollinate[7438]: client successfully seeded [/dev/urandom]

** Description changed:

Pollinate ships entropy.ubuntu.com's public certificate for tighter
  security.

This certificate has been updated and pollinate needs to be updated.
+
+ [Impact]
+ Any new 14.04 (Trusty) cloud instance with a down-level version of pollinate
will fail to seed their PRNG from entropy.ubuntu.com.
+
+ [Test Case]
+ Run:
+ $ sudo pollinate -r
+ to reseed your PRNG. If you have the old version of pollinate, you'll get
certificate errors (See Comment #1), and it will exit non-zero. If you have
the new version (already uploaded to ppa:pollinate/ppa, utopic,
trusty-proposed), it will work again and exit zero (see Comment #2).
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ Negligible. A single file is updated with a new public SSL certificate for
https://entropy.ubuntu.com, in /etc/pollinate/entropy.ubuntu.com.pem

[Bug 921208] Re: win7/x64 installer hangs on startup with 0x0000005d.

2014-10-15 Thread Eduardo Habkost
Alessandro: see comment #14. If somebody can confirm that Windows 7
works with TCG when using -cpu kvm64,+nx, I believe we can fix this in
qemu64 soon, when we finally make TCG-qemu64 different from KVM-qemu64.
If it still doesn't work, that means we still have the same status from
comment #11 (TCG not supporting all the features required by Windows 7).

[Bug 1381395] [NEW] Missing dependency on qemu-utils in cinder-volume

2014-10-15 Thread James Page
Public bug reported:

cinder-volume has a dependency on qemu-img as provided in qemu-utils:

# cinder/image/image_utils.py
qemu-img: EnvFilter, env, root, LC_ALL=C, qemu-img

2014-10-15 Thread James Page
Holding off adding this as a package dependency until the MIR team ack
that can accommodate this so late in cycle (apologies for that). This
is to support a new feature in neutron which is important from an HA
perspective; users can obviously still just install conntrack manually
but it would be nice to have this added to main to get security support
etc...

[Bug 1381494] [NEW] Full backup may not back up all files on Samba share yet report success

2014-10-15 Thread Mikko Kortelainen
Public bug reported:

Due to a regression in smbclient apparently starting from version 3.6,
not all files may be backed up by a BackupPC full backup. Yet BackupPC
reports the backup as successful.

The first NT_STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION error in a particular directory
stops the backup for the given directory, so that subsequent files and
subdirectories in that directory are not backed up. The processing will
continue with the next same level or upper level directory. Depending on
the order, some files and subdirectories may not be backed up.

So for example, if a backup of a C$ share on a Windows host processes
files in alphabetical order, and C$/pagefile.sys gives the
NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION error, the C$/Program Files, C$/Users and
C$/Windows among other directories will not be backed up.

The backup is nevertheless shown as a full backup and not a partial one
in the BackupPC user interface. Looking at the error log, the user can
see NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION errors, but there is no indication that
the rest of the directory was skipped because of this. And a typical
Windows host will have a number of those errors just because of files
that are in use. So it is not immediately obvious that a potentially
large number of files were skipped. Only by browsing the resulting
backup, or perhaps comparing backup and source sizes, can the user
notice missing files.

A subsequent incremental backup may actually back up more files, as it
may exclude some of the ones with those errors. I actually came across
this bug by seeing incrementals back up much more files than full
backups. Incrementals get deleted after a week in the default
configuration, leaving partial full backups.

It is quite alarming to realize this bug may affect all users with the
default packages and default configuration who are backing up Samba
shares with locked files - practically any Windows target.

This is probably related to this Samba bug:

https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10605

That bug is tagged to Samba 3.6, but I have seen the same behaviour with
Samba 4.1.6 in Trusty. The best way to see this is to run the backup
command from the command line and see it die prematurely after the first
error in the root of the share.

A workaround to this issue is to downgrade smbclient to version 3.5.

[Bug 1381450] Re: [MIR] conntrack, libnetfilter-queue, libnetfilter-cttimeout, libnetfilter-cthelper

2014-10-15 Thread Michael Terry
libnetfilter-queue: is fine. Would be nice to see tests, but upstream
doesn't provide them. It also should use ${misc:Pre-Depends} instead of
hardcoding its pre-depends, since it is missing Pre-Depends: multiarch-
support for the library package. But not a blocker, just a bit of
sloppiness.

Oh also, for all three of these libraries, it would be great if they
provided symbols files. Could you maybe suggest that to the Debian
maintainers / file bugs?

[Bug 1381564] [NEW] pyparsing ParseResults.pop() fails with NameError: global name 'index' is not defined

2014-10-15 Thread Данило Шеган

for a minimal test case like

  from pyparsing import Word
  test = Word(test)
  res = test.parseString(test)

This is fixed upstream in pyparsing 2.0.3 with the following patch:

[Bug 1381564] Re: pyparsing ParseResults.pop() fails with NameError: global name 'index' is not defined

2014-10-15 Thread Robie Basak
Thanks. Looks like 2.0.3 is tagged upstream but not yet released.

It would be easiest to fix this in Debian and then sync (looks like a
bugfix only release, with test suite additions, so it seems pretty
safe).

But to make Utopic before release, we need to cherry-pick the fix, or
pull in 2.0.3 from svn or something. This would be better than having to
do an SRU after release though.

I don't have upload permission and it sounds like you don't need this
fixed in Utopic so I'll leave it for now. Please shout if you do need
this in Utopic though.

[Bug 1381776] [NEW] cloud init depends on python-serial but does not declare it

2014-10-15 Thread Drew Fisher
Public bug reported:

cloud-init 0.6.3-0ubuntu1.14 appears to depend on python-serial (due to
the backported cloudsigma support patch), but this dependency is not
specified in the package.

I built a machine image via debootstrap and installing the cloud-init
package, but upon boot, cloud-init doesn't perform any of the expected
actions, and I get this backtrace in /var/log/boot.log:

Traceback (most recent call last):

The fix would appear to be adding python-serial to Depends.

[Bug 505278] Re: ssh-add -D deleting all identities does not work. Also, why are all identities auto-added?

2014-10-15 Thread kayandus
This isn't a bug, it's a feature. Read the gnome-keyring website
carefully, https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/GnomeKeyring/Ssh

[quote]
This assumes some familiarity with the ssh-add command. See its man page for
more info.
You can use ssh-add to manually add keys for use in the SSH agent. These
will be in addition to the automatically loaded keys.
The ssh-add -D will remove any keys you've added manually.
The ssh-add -D will lock any automatically loaded keys.
ssh-add -l and ssh-add -L will always list automatically loaded keys.
[/quote]

This is exactly what happens in 14.04; automatically loaded keys get
locked, manually added keys get removed from the agent.

Automatically loaded keys are:
[quote]
The SSH agent automatically loads files in ~/.ssh which have corresponding
*.pub paired files. Additional SSH keys can be manually loaded and managed via
the ssh-add command.
[/quote]

On a side note, it seems 14.04 also starts the openssh 'ssh-agent'
automatically, so effectively running two agents by default (is this
intentional?). Ssh-agent stores its socket in /tmp. Try something like:

SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/tmp/ssh-ABCDEF123456/agent.12345 ssh-add

Thanks for the quick turn-around, Robie!

There actually is a 2.0.3 release at pypi:

FWIW, not having this in would result in a bunch of Canonical Landscape

[Bug 1380095] Re: Gnome Fallback[s] don't work in 14.04. Work once ONLY if reinstalled

2014-10-15 Thread Alberts Muktupāvels
You can try without creating user. Use guest account to login. It is
important as we need understand if your problem is caused by your
customizations/settings.

There is no need for save button. If you changed type to none is dconf-
editor then settings sshould be saved automatically. You wrote that you
have more then 4 panels. Did you changed that setting for all panels?

Have you tried to login in session after changing background to none?

When you try to launch gnome-panel do this:
1) Open gnome-terminal (/usr/bin/gnome-terminal) not gnome-panel
2) Then type in this command:
gnome-panel --replace

You may need to do it multiple times as --replace command does not work
like it should. Running gnome-panel from terminal will allow you to see
error/warning messages.

[Bug 1374481] Re: Nearby and News scope do not load on reboot

2014-10-15 Thread Marcus Tomlinson
that said ^, I've just done a few reboots with nearby and news
favourited (installed from latest lp:~hanloon-team/hanloon/clicks). When
I reboot, the news scope works just fine every time. The strange one is
the nearby scope. When the nearby scope finishes surfacing, all child
scopes show up but, other than weather, they all show No Location
found (which is weird because the weather results are location specific
and correct). Then when I trigger another surfacing (add and remove a
character in the search), the nearby scope then only shows me results
from weather and nearby wikipedia articles, and this time the wikipedia
results are location specific and correct. Every surfacing from then on
do the same.

I assume that since this bug was reported we've been through a number of
updates and hence shifted from issue to issue.

(I'm testing on RTM #88 btw)

[Bug 1374481] Re: Nearby and News scope do not load on reboot

2014-10-15 Thread Marcus Tomlinson
Ok, a further discovery. If I don't have the nearby scope favourited
then reboot. Opening the nearby scope from the Dash Manager works
perfectly. If I tap back then open it again though, I get only the
weather and wiki articles again.

So looks like one issue uncovered is that location data is not available
when this scope starts up on boot. Race between location data becoming
available and the scope requesting it perhaps?
