[Bug 1392949] Re: [Asus X553MA] Touchpad features doesn't work
First of those three patches didn't work with Ubuntu 3.13.0-39.66-generic 3.13.11.8 so I made the changes by hand wihtout the change to synaptics.c. Then after applying all three patches I patched changes in drivers/input/serio from 3.17.2 to Ubuntu 3.13.0-39.66-generic and also added firmware_id field into include/linux/serio.h. Now I'm running that patched 3.13.0-39.66-generic in my X553MA and all touchpad features work and haven't noticed any problems. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1392949 Title: [Asus X553MA] Touchpad features doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1392949/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1393151] [NEW] Writing to ext4 LVM FS causes GPF in mpage_process_page_bufs
Public bug reported: Writing data to a 3 TB ext4-formatted logical volume on a 2x6 TB mdadm raid 1 mirror always results in a GPF within 1 minute of writing the data. Disks seem to be OK smart-wise. [Bug 1373510] Re: SAMSUNG SCX-3405 not detected in XUBUNTU 14.04 AMD 64 bit
** Description changed: Hello, I have a problem trying to install the Universal Scanner Driver (multifunction SAMSUNG SCX-3405) on an HP AMD 64 notebook, with Xubuntu 14.04 LTS-AMD 64Bits. The scanner is not detected. The sw is regularly updated. On another machine, with the same Xubuntu 14.04 LTS, BUT 32Bits, the driver is installed and works very well. More, when I used the 12.04 LTS-32Bits, on the same HP AMD 64 notebook, the driver was fine. I involved the Samsung Assistance of Italy in the problem and they verified that what I say is true; they said also that the problem is inside Xubuntu AMD 64B or inside the Kernel Linux. I can't do anything by myself, I need your kind help. Please, let me know your opinion, thanks. - - Enzo Ibertis, Turin, Italy. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1373510 Title: SAMSUNG SCX-3405 not detected in XUBUNTU 14.04 AMD 64 bit To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1373510/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1311247] Re: [Grubenv] error: malformed file, press any key to continue
Same Problem here on ubuntu14.04 recently upgraded from 13.10. The workarounds setting the grub default option is not possible for me, because I am using the system with vdr. The vdr sets a wakeup-time which is programmed in the BIOS with nvram. My mainboard requires a reboot for making this setting effective which is achieved by turning the system-shutdown into a reboot and choose the last menu-entry PowerOff. However, it turned out that this is not happening when I switch of the system with the halt-command in the grub menu entry I call after reboot. To clearify this is the content of my 40_custom: #!/bin/sh exec tail -n +3 $0 # This file provides an easy way to add custom menu entries. Simply type the # menu entries you want to add after this comment. Be careful not to change # the 'exec tail' line above. menuentry PowerOff { saved_entry=0 save_env saved_entry sleep 4 halt } When I switched off the system by power key, it worked. The only way to make it work again was downgrading to the previously used version 2.00-19ubuntu2.1 and set the packages on hold in aptitude. Why are we using beta-versions in a LTS-distribution? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311247 Title: [Grubenv] error: malformed file, press any key to continue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/grub/+bug/1311247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1393074] Re: Amarok freezes on start up
Please start Amarok in a konsole with these arguments: amarok -d --nofork and check the error messages. I suspect it is a well-known bug in the 2.8 version with the analyzer applet (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327150), if yes, here is the workaround: disable the analyzer applet by editing ~/.kde/share/config/amarok_homerc and removing it from the plugins list Also please file Amarok bugs downstream in http://bugs.kde.org, as for all other KDE packages ** Bug watch added: KDE Bug Tracking System #327150 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327150 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393074 Title: Amarok freezes on start up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amarok/+bug/1393074/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1393168] [NEW] chromium doesn't read files from /etc/chromium-browser/customizations
Public bug reported: I was trying to start chromium-browser with some additional command-line arguments (gssapi-related). I created a file /etc/chromium- browser/customizations/00_gps.dynxs.de.sh that extends the variable CHROMIUM_FLAGS, but this file is acually ignored. Apparently, the run-parts command isn't called correctly from the script /usr/bin/chromium-browser. Without --regex, no file is listed and sourced. That is maybe not a bug. You have an old release which isn't supported anymore. You have to upgrade with the old-releases archive repository or too fresh-install Ubuntu. I have tha same (1440, gamma, fglrx removed) with Radeon HD 4850, but only on upgraded ubuntu from 12.04 to 14.04 (both LTS) . With 14.04.1 LTS desktop live I have correct resolution: root@ubuntu:~# xrandr -q Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 8192 x 8192 HDMI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) VGA-0 connected primary 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 477mm x 268mm 1920x1080 60.0*+ 1680x1050 60.0 1280x1024 60.0 1440x900 59.9 1280x960 60.0 1280x800 59.8 1024x768 60.0 800x60060.3 56.2 640x48060.0 DVI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) #lspci 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] On the upgraded version I have to use -q12 and -s to see 1920x1080, but can't add it - gamma missing. As there is no xorg.conf, it is hard to move settings ... It looks, as always, the best way to upgrade ubuntu is to reinstall ubuntu. I think to install all packages from live distribution missing in the installed version, as it is all autodiscovery, but I feel I will have to reinstall it.
