[Bug 1400669] Re: package spamassassin 3.4.0-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Follow up to my previous note: I have been working on a similar installation problem with the udev package and received some help from Martin Pitt. Based upon his suggestions, I ran the following command: # env DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_PACKAGE=spamassassin DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_NAME=postinst sh -ex /var/lib/dpkg/info/spamassassin.postinst configure ; echo $? + set -e + [ configure = triggered ] + [ configure = configure ] + getent passwd debian-spamd + mkdir -p /var/lib/spamassassin + stat -c %U /var/lib/spamassassin + OWNER=debian-spamd + stat -c %G /var/lib/spamassassin + GROUP=debian-spamd + dpkg-statoverride --list /var/lib/spamassassin/sa-update-keys + [ debian-spamd:debian-spamd != debian-spamd:debian-spamd ] + test -d /var/lib/spamassassin/sa-update-keys + su - debian-spamd -c sa-update --gpghomedir /var/lib/spamassassin/sa-update-keys --import /usr/share/spamassassin/GPG.KEY + deb-systemd-helper debian-installed spamassassin.service + deb-systemd-helper unmask spamassassin.service + deb-systemd-helper --quiet was-enabled spamassassin.service + deb-systemd-helper update-state spamassassin.service + [ -x /etc/init.d/spamassassin ] + update-rc.d spamassassin defaults 19 21 + [ -x /etc/init.d/spamassassin ] + invoke-rc.d spamassassin start SpamAssassin Mail Filter Daemon: disabled, see /etc/default/spamassassin 0 OK, that looks promising. Now, when I returned to synaptic and installed another unrelated package, it then proceded to configure both spamassassin and sa-compile! There must be a flag somewhere that doesn't get updated when this manual command is run, so the package manager still thinks it needs to be performed. In any event, this appears to have cleared the problems and make the packages as properly installed. Unfortunately, I'm still unclear as to the source of the original problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to spamassassin in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1400669 Title: package spamassassin 3.4.0-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/spamassassin/+bug/1400669/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1400669] Re: package spamassassin 3.4.0-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Note: There seem to be multiple active bug reports regarding this problem, including one previously submitted by me. These might need to all be merged together. OS: xubuntu 14.10 Error occurred when installing the evolution packages using synaptic. In my case the error message are as follows: Spamassassin subprocess post-install script returned error status 102 sa-compile dependency problems -- leaving unconfigured. Note the exit status of 102 differs from the one reported by the original reporter. This is the second time that spamassassin has screwed up my system. The previous time was when I attempted to install sendmail. The package database got so screwed up that I had to wipe the system and do a complete reinstall. After that fresh install, I encountered a similar problem with the udev package which is currently active as bug 1406735. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1406735 Eventually, rerunning the udev post-install script manually seemed to clear that problem. Then, as I reinstalled old software packages I ran back into this. From experience, I know that until this error is cleared, any further attempt to install packages will just lead to further corruptions. The last time this happend to me, I was unable to remove certain packages or install other new ones due to the package database errors that proliferated. This is a serious problem that needs immediate investigation.

RE: [Bug 1235567] Re: ibus-ui-gtk3 crashed with SIGABRT
Hi Thanks for the update, however I'm not sure how to read these reports. It appears from the details below that I'm running Ubunutu 13.10, when I'm actually running 14.10 (are the details below related to the original fault found?) Anyway I think I've cure the problem by going back a version with my kernel. Now on 3.16. No problems so far. I was getting a couple of other spurious messages on boot, prior to the desktop appearing, and they have gone as well. They were related to USB something not found or busy. [Bug 1265192] Re: Install/reinstall wipes out all/other partitions
I was advised to post this: It worked but not in the way Bruno described. The real bug is that windows 8 OS is not being detected (or reported) because GRuB will detect it after ubuntu install. This is simple bug that is non bug .. just not being echoed to the screen so somehwere in the code there needs to be port to screen. The other problem is with the way gparted try to explain it's 'operations pending' reports. They are very hard to see and each and every step has to be confirmed in that particular order - so gparted needs some GUI retrofit so people can better understand it IMO. so it works good without proposed (trusty current) but the how too help files are lacking. Ubiquity presenter and partitioner has very bad logic problems with UEFI and needs to be looked at but the install process was seamless here. Maybe it is just not being echoed to the screen so somewhere in the code there needs to be port to screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265192 Title: Install/reinstall wipes out all/other partitions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+bug/1265192/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1407015] Re: Both nemo and nautilus chrash when opening a nfs share
If default session means Unity, I can't try, because I removed Unity from both my 14.04 64 bit and 12.04 32 bit Ubuntu computers. I can reinstall it, if necessary, and try. In this case, please provide some instructions (apt command line). Thank you and regards. And happy new year, of course. PS: BTW there is another off-topic trouble (bug) in my 14.04 installation: gnome-contacts is unable to show my google contacts. Sometimes I get the request to re-authorize the access to my google account. Even doing successfully so, contacts do not appear. Some sparse problems also with main menu handling, when using custom icons and commands. Using menu libre solve this problem, but the intermix of alacarte and menu libre splits categories (I have double categories in my menu). So, from my point of view, 14.04 is quite buggy, and this prevents me from upgrading my 12.04 version. (In reply to Ander Conselvan de Oliveira from comment #9) (In reply to Chris Wilson from comment #8) Yikes, this regression made it into a stable release. I was actually able to reproduce this with 3.14. I tried to reproduce this before with drm-intel-nightly on SNB, IVB and HSW, but failed. Turns out I needed a more recent xorg intel driver to uncover the bug. (In reply to Ander Conselvan de Oliveira from comment #11) (In reply to Chris Wilson from comment #10) (There is certainly a kernel regression due to planes) Even so, the original report makes no mention of using nightly or a very recent kernel. [Bug 1395182]
Created attachment 111520 Xorg.log with --enable-debug=full I tried to reproduce the problem with the driver compiled with --enable- debug=full. However, the session strangely dies after setting the rotation. There is no error reported in the log after setting rotation to inverted. [Bug 1395182]
(In reply to Chris Wilson from comment #10) (There is certainly a kernel regression due to planes) Even so, the original report makes no mention of using nightly or a very recent kernel. Also, the link to github implies the problem started to happen after an upgrade from Ubuntu 14.04 to 14.10. The latter uses kernel 3.16 and xf86-video-intel version 2.99.914. I am able to reproduce the bug with that config, getting the screen divided horizontally like in the attached screenshot. [Bug 418242] Re: Incorrect call to output plugins (with persistent error message) on copy
How annoying! Ubuntu 14.04 32 bit with Gnome environment, running Inkscape 0.48.4 from the official Ubuntu repository together with Netbeans 8.0.2 is a total bummer. It even spoiled the system so much, then a following apt-get update took ages to read packages, because the system OS cache was totally full. Had to echo 3 into /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches to get to back to normality. To reproduce: - run Inkscape - run Netbeans - draw a text in Inkscape, press CTRL-C - switch to Netbeans app result: at least 10 dialog boxes pop up, and until the clipboard is cleared more and more are coming. Two types, one titled Postscript with various postscript settings, the other one without a title with 1. a label saying: Inkscape has received additional data from the script executed. The script did not return an error, but this may indicate the results will not be as expected. 2. and a read-only edit box saying: UniConvertor failed: Cannot list directory /home/username/.uniconvertor:[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/username/.uniconvertor' ignoring it in font_path Cannot list directory /home/username/.uniconvertor:[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/username/.uniconvertor' ignoring it in font_path I can't find font Sans. Arthur Fragoso, you may want to update your test with the latest mainline kernel 3.19-rc2, re-send the e-mail following the format noted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1349000/comments/14 (November's e-mail did not), and CC both the regression submitter and the maintainer/sub-maintainer of the driver module. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1349000 Title: Networking - Destination unreachable (Fragmentation needed) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1349000/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
