[Bug 1264115] Re: Gedit hangs while searching in large file
THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING, the immediatly starting search function stalls the program in long files (e.g. I want to search for def, it stalls the program with searching all d's and so on (gedit gets greyed out) for a minute) You can add an option to preferences, if user wants immediate search for every letter you enter. [Bug 1410930] [NEW] fglrx with 'no tear' option : partially blank screen on external monitor
Public bug reported: OS = Ubuntu 14.04 GPU = Radeon HD8210 on laptop Laptop Internal monitor resolution = 1366 x 768 External monitor resolution = 1920 x 1080, linked to laptop with VGA cable Display setting to display image on external monitor only, with its native resolution. (Internal display is switched off.) When setting the 'no tear' option in the Catalyst tool (package fglrx-amdcccle), the image is truncated on the external display (the right third on the screen is blank, however the image itself has the correct resolution so one third of the image is simply not displayed) The 'no tear' option is usefull as a workaround for bug 772873. ** Affects: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1410930 Title: fglrx with 'no tear' option : partially blank screen on external monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1410930/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1410946] [NEW] Task Switching between Workspaces Fails if Window placement overflows
Public bug reported: To reproduce this bug you must enable workspaces: System Settings Appearance Behavior Enable Workspaces. Now, I'm assuming you have firefox open in this current workspace (from where you are reading this message). It doesn't matter if it is chrome, but later we will switch back to this web browser. Hit ctrl-alt-downArrow to switch to another workspace. Launch Gimp (for example) into this new workspace SuperKey type gimp (no quotes) and hit the enter key. Now, make sure that gimp's window is not maximized, and then move the window so that any part of is clipped by the workspace, meaning, drag the window down so that the bottom 10 pixels of the window are not viewable on the workspace. Now, on the launcher bar, click on an icon that is open in another workspace (firefox or chromium for example). Then try to go back to gimp by clicking on its launcher icon. For me, unless the workspace encapsulates the gimp window 100%, I am not able to switch back to gimp by clicking its launcher icon. I was using Gimp as an example, but the same is true for any other application whose window is not completely encapsulated by the workspace that it primarily resides. This got for me to the point that I always don't get any results in Dash Home after opening it. Fortunately there is a workaround in my case. [Bug 1330405] Re: Unity top panel turns transparent with dual screen. Garbage shadow leftovers appear.
Same deal here. 14.04.1, fully updated, etc. Running on a Dell Latitude E7440 that even came with Ubuntu on it. If I plug in a second display after the system is booted, the top panel on the secondary monitor goes transparent. If I boot the system up with the monitor plugged in, no issue. If I issue a restart to unity (ALT + F2, unity --replace), then it comes back fine. This does not happen if your panel is default transparency, though it does happen if the transparency of the panel has been adjusted (at least in my experience). ** Attachment added: dualscreen2.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1330405/+attachment/4298631/+files/dualscreen2.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1330405 Title: Unity top panel turns transparent with dual screen. [Bug 1222021] Re: [SRU] xfce4-power-manager does not inhibit systemd from handling buttons and lid events
I am running Xubuntu 14.04 and have this issue, though I'm more concerned with the fact that my computer goes to sleep after a period of inactivity despite having both A/C and battery set to Never in the Power Manager. The workaround I use is a script that I added to the Application Autostart list: xset s off xset dpms 0 0 0 xset -dpms s off I realize there is a bit of redundancy in using those three commands but I have tried different combinations and found using all three to be the only successful method. An interesting thing to note is that everytime I update Xubuntu base I have to remove the command from the Autostart list and then add it again (unchecking and then checking the box does not work for me). Hope this helps, Jeremy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1222021 Title: [SRU] xfce4-power-manager does not inhibit systemd from handling buttons and lid events To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xfce4-power-manager/+bug/1222021/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1316293] Re: unable to start
Yes, I also have a few error messages containing amavis[1533]: nss- ldap: do_open: do_start_tls failed:stat=-1. Removing ssl start_tls from /etc/ldap.conf allows amavis to start. So the problem looks to be when amavis checking libnss when it is set to use LDAP with STARTTLS. The TLS certificates used by the LDAP server are signed by the company CA which is set in the tls_cacertfile option in /etc/ldap.conf. They work fine when using getent password and other commands. The same certificates also work fine in Ubuntu 12.04. Setting libnss to not check certificate by adding tls_checkpeer no to /etc/ldap.conf to not change behaviour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to amavisd-new in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316293 Title: unable to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amavisd-new/+bug/1316293/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

-- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316293 Title: unable to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amavisd-new/+bug/1316293/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1247366] Re: Evolution is missing bogofilter integration
I believe this can be fixed with a simple patch to the rules file in the Evolution Ubuntu package: if we set the BOGOFILTER environment variable before we run configure then whatever value it has will be used during the build without checking, and at runtime if the program exists the plugin will be enabled (and if not it won't be). ** Patch added: Enable bogofilter plugin for Evolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1247366/+attachment/4298600/+files/evo-bogofilter.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1247366 Title: Evolution is missing bogofilter integration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1247366/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I see post 100 listed as a workaround, and I see multiple other solutions after that... is the process in post 100 the official ubuntu solution? If so, this should be listed as fix released. Again. Otherwise, there is really no way for anyone who gets pointed to this thread to know which of the solutions is the working one.
