[Bug 1072206] Re: [nvidia] Window content is black or transparent
I have not noticed this in Ubuntu 14.04.1 until now because I had previous been using Openbox (LXDE Desktop Environment), but after switching back to Unity I noticed this. I haven't seen any issues prior with any OpenGL programs under the LXDE Desktop Environment nor so far any artifacts/glitches in OpenGL software on Unity. [Bug 1317811] Re: Dropped packets on EC2, xen_netfront: xennet: skb rides the rocket: x slots
I think that is at least enough data to claim this issue verified. @Jon, you could check whether you have the same issue by looking at dmesg and ifconfig output on the sender side. If you see the rides the rocket messages together with an incrementing tx drop count, that is this bug. And it should be going away even without disabling sg when using the proposed kernel for the sender. And though it probably should not cause that bad effects, but on the other hand higher layer applications can expect the tcp layer to correct dropped packets. Which maybe is done but possibly ending up (by trying to avoid copying data in memory) with the same (or similar) fragmented send buffer. And in the end all re-tries are dropped. ** Tags removed: verification-needed-trusty ** Tags added: verification-done-trusty ** Tags added: verification-done-utopic ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: Stefan Bader (smb) = (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1317811 Title: Dropped packets on EC2, xen_netfront: xennet: skb rides the rocket: x slots To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1317811/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Same problem here. When the nvidia GPU is prime-selected, I'm getting a black screen on startup, though Ubuntu booted and I can hear it working when I adjust sound volume with the keyboard. When intel GPU prime-selected, everything works fine. Like others who posted here, for me the GPU switching function worked before end of January, when after some updates (I really don't know which ones, I didn't follow) this error occured and keeps persisting. I tryed the solutions described on the posts #15 and #18 but they didn't work for me. Additionally I get an error message at startup: System program problem detected. Do you want to report the problem now?. When I select Report problem..., it shows a screen where I can check error details and it says ExecutablePath /usr/bin/Xorg. [Bug 1423026] Re: Build fails due to test creation of test database that already exists
I did some detective work: mysql_install_db 5.5 was patched in Debian/Ubuntu to not create the test database. In 5.6 packaging, mysql_install_db isn't run during a normal install (the necessary lines are part of postinst instead), so it was never necessary to patch it to not create the test database. If you need a line that works in both 5.5 and 5.6: mysql --socket=${MYSQL_UNIX_PORT} --execute CREATE DATABASE ${DO_MYSQL_DBNAME} IF NOT EXISTS; The last clause of the SQL string makes sure it doesn't fail if the database already exists. Another option is to patch mysql_install_db in 5.6 packaging. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1423026 Title: Build fails due to test creation of test database that already exists To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ruby-mysql2/+bug/1423026/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 857651] Re: Unable to hide users from login screen / user switcher
The workaround I am using to this bug is simple: Copy /var/lib/AccountsService/users/root to /var/lib/AccountsService/users/user It's is probably a bad thing to do... What actually happens if one uses SystemAccount=true in that file, as far as I understand (correct me if I am wrong) that won't grant any special powers to that user, still relies on group membership and PolicyKit rules. [Bug 1295405] [NEW] [needs-packaging] Package and upload to vivid
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The Xubuntu team would like to request the upload of a new package to the archive for Vivid. This is an extremely useful app to easily modify lightdm-gtk-greeter's settings with a GUI, which are otherwise only exposed to the user via modifying the file /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk- greeter.conf (with a text-editor with root-rights). The app itself is written in python and mostly modifies the above mentioned config-file. It has mostly been authored by kalgasnik, but the code and the functionality were reviewed and discussed with me and Sean Davis. (Note: all three of us are contributors/maintainers of lightdm- gtk-greeter itself.) In this process, the app has undergone quite some testing (there is a PPA holding packages for easily testing it) and is solid enough that we'd like to propose it for inclusion into the Vivid repos. This package doesn't affect any others directly or indirectly, so there is no chance of conflict or breaking other packages. ** Affects: lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Assignee: Sean Davis (bluesabre) Status: Fix Committed ** Tags: needs-packaging -- [needs-packaging] Package and upload to vivid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1295405 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
