[Bug 1382462] Re: 10de:0dfa Desktop/windows painted incorrectly in dual monitor configuration
After days lost with replacing NVidia drivers and manually editing xorg.conf file, I finally found this! Rockwalrus (rockwalrus) solution works! On CompizConfig Settings Manager, go to General Options, then Display Settings and do the following: - Uncheck Deteck Outputs - In the Outputs array, set the resolutions of each of your screens. The numbers after the resolution 1920x1080+0+0 are the offset. It's important to add this offset according to your needs. I have two full HD screens, so I added the following configuration: 1920x1080+0+0 1920x1080+1920+0 The second output has an offset of 1920, because it is on the right side of the first output, which has a width of 1920. [Bug 584632]
(In reply to Jorg K from comment #38) Coming back to the suggestion from comment #25 and looking in nsFrame::HandlePress. I traced it down into ns[Text]Frame::GetChildFrameContainingOffset with a call stack of: nsFrame::GetChildFrameContainingOffset *or* nsTextFrame::GetChildFrameContainingOffset nsFrameSelection::GetFrameForNodeOffset nsFrameSelection::BidiLevelFromClick nsFrameSelection::HandleClick nsFrame::HandlePress It varies whether nsFrame::GetChildFrameContainingOffset or nsTextFrame::GetChildFrameContainingOffset is being called depending on whether you click on the text, but almost to the left of the text, or completely to the left of the text. When the nsTextFrame::GetChildFrameContainingOffsetAny version is called, it offset is calculated correctly and the font is right. When the nsFrame::GetChildFrameContainingOffset is called, the font is wrong. In the latter case the caret still appears behind the text. Yes, this is what I was explaining in comment 22. The frame on which this function is called depends on the frame receiving the click event; if you click on the text it's going to be a textframe, otherwise it's going to be the parent frame (in the normal case as in the test case you describe above) or anything else that is under the mouse cursor. Try it with a wide letter, like m! So in case a Frame being hit instead of a TextFrame, perhaps the program should look whether there is a text right before the caret once placed. No, we shouldn't change the way that we hit-test to find out which frame was clicked. As I said in comment 22, we should probably look into normalizing the selection, so that if the line ends in an inline frame containing a text frame, we should put the selection at the end of the text frame as opposed to at the end of the inline frame terminating the line. But before we can do that, we need to investigate the behavior of other engines in this situation (as in, we should see where they put the selection.) You need to create a test case which lets you click somewhere and have it dump out the place of the selection (which you can get through window.getSelection()). The simplest way to create such a test case is to set it up to print the selection after 10 seconds or so. Then you should document the behavior of IE/Chrome/Opera/Safari on that test case. If they all agree on putting the selection where I described above (IIRC some of the engines did that the last time I tested this years ago) then we can look into changing our code. Beware that it will probably take a significant amount of work adjusting everywhere in our code where we depend on the existing behavior, same in our existing tests. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584632 Title: composer changes font mid email To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/584632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 584632]
Sadly I don't understand some of what you wrote. Let me see what I understood. You're saying you want to check how other rendering engines behave. I ran the test from comment #37 on Chrome and IE. Both continue text entry with the font present on the first line, so their behaviour is what I would expect. Next you talk about test cases where you click and dump out the selection. In this case, we do a single click, so the selection will have one collapsed range. I don't know which property of the Selection or Range you want to inspect, maybe selRange.[start|end]Container.nodeName. I've stripped down the so-called Midas demo and added some information about the clicking when carrying out the text case from comment #37. Result: FF: BODY, continues in the wrong font. Chrome: #text, continues with the correct font. IE: #text if you used enter between the lines, or BODY if you used shiftenter, continues with correct font in both cases. Let me know what to do next. And please, clear instructions ;-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584632 Title: composer changes font mid email To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/584632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1430261] Re: Ubuntu 15.04 Netboot installation fails with Debootstrap Error
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1430261/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1372609] Re: Touchpad detected as mouse on Asus ux303ln laptop
Pilot, For me, it is a non issue at this point. After making the switch to arch over the weekend, I am, unfortunately or fortunately, sold on arch. I personally like the idea and practice of building my own linux. Reminds me of days past spent with gentoo. Also, pacman and the Aur on arch are incredible. However, I will make an effort to find someone that still has this problem to be a guinea pig for you. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1372609 Title: Touchpad detected as mouse on Asus ux303ln laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1372609/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Asked on upstream ML: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/systemd- devel/2015-March/029226.html In the meantime, you could edit /lib/systemd/system/remote-fs-pre.target to append Wants=network-online.target After=network-online.target This should fix the boot, at least if you use ifupdown (which I assume if you use NFS). Re: [Bug 1401792] Re: nvidia-331-uvm 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4: nvidia-331-uvm kernel module failed to build
Huh. The duplicate bug (1268257) has been updated to this: Changed in nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates (Ubuntu):*assignee*:Moreno (nenoattila) → nobodyChanged in nvidia-graphics-drivers-331 (Ubuntu): *status*:Triaged → Incomplete*status*:Incomplete → InvalidChanged in nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates (Ubuntu):*status*:Triaged → Invalid Because apparently doing this: $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-331 $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-331-uvm not only fixes the issue, but apparently makes it completely irrelevant. If plugging in a workaround is enough, after more than a year, to make a bug invalid, then wouldn't the same workaround make all of the duplicates invalid as well? Just seems like a huge waste of resources to me to ignore the solution to a bug, and continue looking for other ways to solve a duplicate issue. Or, perhaps none of the devs let each other know when an issue has been fixed. On the lock screen, however, one is required to enter a password. Entering no password doesn't work, and entering a random password doesn't work. The user without a password is stuck on the lock screen. I was able to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS. It's a fairly serious issue since the default system behavior is to automatically lock after a few minutes. An emergency workaround is to click the Change User button to return to the main login screen, and then proceed from there. ** Affects: unity-greeter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1430246 Title: Impossible to unlock lock screen for user without password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1430246/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1430259] [NEW] Mounting CIFS share intermittent failure
Public bug reported: I run a samba server on an Ubuntu 14.10 host and have several ubuntu clients as VM as well as separate device for media streaming. On reboot for the VM's and media streamer sometimes the samba share connects without issue, sometimes it errors. In all cases I can reconnect the share with a manual mount command or a 'mount -a'. Server process log never shows any errors, server client process logs never show error, only errors through are on the client which are either in dmesg output... Today I've found a bug report on debian (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=746229) with the same problems. I've tried lots of different parameters for the mount command to see if any generate a different error or less frequent error but cannot see any differents. My current mount command for a VM which demonstrates persistent issues is... //blackserver.273below.co.uk/share /mnt/share cifsusername=X,password=X,sec=ntlm, hard 0 0 I've tried appending workgroup parameters into the mount etc and nothing seems to resolve. Here it has the correct order, so that sounds like a race condition. This part (logind interaction) hasn't actually changed in quite some time. Out of interest, do you get this error under upstart too? This doesn't actually sound specific to using systemd as init, but it would be nice to confirm that.
