[Bug 191417] Re: oem-config should draft a preseed file
[patch proposal] 150610-add-feature-to-preseed-by-boot-parameters . Add feature to preseed by using boot parameters at stage 3 (OOBE) installation. . The current binary package oem-config does not support the feature to preseed by using boot parameters at stage 3, Out-of-box experience, OOBE. By mimicking the implement of casper, getting boot parameters from /proc/cmdline and apply associated preseed files if any, before oem-config-firstboot launches. . This feature will benefit oem vendors to perform automatic tests for different known end users with different system configuration but the same skeleton oem-installed system. Thus, end users may have better OOBE experience and system updating support. . . Patch regression risk: Low . This patch only add one more case option and the feature is isolated to other features. ** Attachment added: 150610-add-feature-to-preseed-by-boot-parameters https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/191417/+attachment/4412513/+files/150610-add-feature-to-preseed-by-boot-parameters ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191417 Title: oem-config should draft a preseed file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/191417/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1463811] [NEW] serial Wacom devices not detected in vivid/15.04
Public bug reported: After installing Ubuntu Vivid/15.04 on my Thinkpad x200 tablet, no serial Wacom devices were detected at boot. Screen did not respond to stylus and Wacom settings reported no tablet detected. Workaround: as in comment #8 in Utopic bug #a href=https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input- wacom/+bug/13928871392887/a, replacing the directory /lib/udev/rules.d/69-wacom.rules with the *file /lib/udev/rules.d/69-wacom.rules/wacom.rules, renamed to 69-wacom.rules restores Wacom functionality. However, the laptop now boots up into portrait mode. Please do not submit patches prior to bug triage/discussion/prioritization. A packaging problem appears to cause this issue, not an installation guide problem. [Bug 1463627] Re: Limiting the data size doesn't work
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.1 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance. [Bug 1460794] Re: systemd will not work with a separate /usr partition
The /usr appears to be on its own filesystem ... is just a warning. Booting with separate /usr is supported, as long as it's a local partition and not a remote one (the latter could work, but really nobody tests this). I just did a 15.04 installation with separate /usr, and it works fine. Could there be something wrong with your /etc/fstab perhaps? Maybe some UUID mismatch or so? In the emergency shell, can you please do journalctl -b /root/journal.txt blkid /root/blkid.txt and attach /etc/fstab, /root/blkid.txt, and /root/journal.txt here?
