[Bug 1248642] Re: dynamic library inconsistencies with OpenGL/C++

2015-06-11 Thread Matthias Klose
I don't agree with the comment in #33, that verification failed for the
binutils upload. the binutils induced error is solved, and loading fails
later. And apparently, this, or a similar issue is known in other
places. I can't see how the new binutils would make this worse.

[Bug 1439682] Re: package mysql-server-5.6 5.6.23-1~exp1~ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: il sottoprocesso installato script di post-installation ha restituito lo stato di errore 1

2015-06-11 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem,
rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete.

If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers
to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it
helpful to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 762349] Re: Difficult to distinguish which tab is selected

2015-06-11 Thread Matti Haavikko
I created an account here just to comment on this issue. This bug is my
biggest annoyance with Ubuntu. Since this bug has been open for such a
long time and there (seemingly) is a fix available, what is the problem?

A) Is there a technical issue that prevents fixing the bug - please explain and
let the community help.
B) Is there a UI/design issue that needs to be solved - please explain and let
the community help.
C) is there lack of interest/lack of resources to apply the fix - please
explain and let the community help.

[Bug 1452644] Re: NFSd does not start due to systemd ordering cycle with setserial

2015-06-11 Thread kex
I can confirm that the proposed package fixes the bug for me.

I did not have readahead-fedora package, but ureadahead. However, I had
fedora-readahead with 14.04. It is possible that some files were not
removed during upgrade to 15.04. apt-get remove ureadahead; apt-get
purge readahead-fedora fixed this for me (in addition to using the
proposed setserial). Now nfsd starts.

[Bug 1447224] Re: Regression: Unable to select audio or subtitle tracks

2015-06-11 Thread Iain Lane
Uploaded with a note about the behaviour changes. We think that on
balance being able to select languages outweighs these, but it is up to
you dear SRU team to decide.

** Description changed:

- After upgrading to Ubuntu 15.04 neither Totem nor VLC are able to select
- different audio tracks or subtitles when playing videos with multiple
- tracks. This is a regression from Ubuntu 14.10 where playback of such
- files was working as expected. I tried this on multiple machines running
- 15.04 and with various media, mostly MKV videos but also AVI videos or
- simply DVDs.
+ [ Description ]

- On Totem the expected functionality in the application menu is missing
- or the menu item is just empty.
+ Under Unity, the menu items Language and Subtitles do not show
+ available languages and subtitles that can be selected.

- On VLC the menu items are present but always disabled.
+ [ Fix ]

- ProblemType: Bug
- DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04
- Package: totem 3.14.2-0ubuntu1
- ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-14.14-generic 3.19.3
- Uname: Linux 3.19.0-14-generic x86_64
- NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia
- ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1
- Architecture: amd64
- CurrentDesktop: Unity
- Date: Wed Apr 22 16:53:57 2015
- InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-07-15 (280 days ago)
- InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr - Release amd64 (20140417)
- SourcePackage: totem
- UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
+ Port to GMenu, which can correctly show the menu items.
+
+ NOTE that this removes the menu from full screen under Unity.
+
+ [ QA ]
+
+ Test under both Unity and GNOME shell (and optionally other DEs) that
+ you can load a video (e.g.
+
http://trailers.divx.com/divx_prod/divx_plus_hd_showcase/Sintel_DivXPlus_6500kbps.mkv
+ [large - 819M]) with subtitles and languages and select between them.
+
+ [ Development fix ]
+
+ Identical already uploaded.
+
+ [ Regression potential ]
+
+ Due to the nature of this change, you won't get the app menu when full
+ screened under Unity any more - langs and subtitles can only be selected
+ from the regular menu which is visible when not in full screen.
+
+ No other regressions are expected, so if you find any please report in
+ this bug.

[Bug 1464187] [NEW] USB headphones too loud after suspend

2015-06-11 Thread Robin Green
Public bug reported:

I have a pair of Plantronics 655 DSP USB headphones. They work fine but
after suspend to RAM and resume, the volume is too loud. It fixes itself
when I press a volume button on the device, when the volume reduces to
the volume Ubuntu thinks it should have been (+/- 1 increment, because I
am pressing the volume increase/decrease button).

Driver is snd-usb-audio.

Both stxvw4x and lxvw4x are VSX instructions. We already have a patch to
avoid crashes with those instructions but for some reason it's not
enough. I'm going to add a flag in CFLAGS in order to disable VSX at
all.

[Bug 1437897] Re: package mysql-server-5.6 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: il sottoprocesso nuovo script pre-installation ha restituito lo stato di errore 1

2015-06-11 Thread Robie Basak
It should be asked trough a popup question, not left hidden in the
installation logs.

It is a critical debconf prompt. If synaptic did not present it to you,
then that's either a bug in synaptic or you have synaptic configured to
hide critical prompts from you.

BTW, looks it isn't related with specific filesystem, and from the recent

Also from the link in #15, looks it is still triggered on arm64 from the
register information
in the log.

So it might be one arm64 dependent issue.

[Bug 1463461] Re: resolvconf not updated by /lib/systemd/system/ifup@.service.d/open-iscsi.conf

2015-06-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package open-iscsi - 2.0.873-3ubuntu12

---
open-iscsi (2.0.873-3ubuntu12) wily; urgency=medium

  * Drop debian/i...@.service.conf again, it ceased to work with net.agent in
wily and the whole idea of net-interface-handler is to *stop* ifupdown
from fiddling with the iscsi interface. Replace with udev rules
(debian/iscsi-network-interface.rules) which achieves this without relying
on ifupdown or a particular init system. (LP: #1463461)
  * Drop debian/open-iscsi.iscsi-network-interface.upstart as well, obsolete
now. Also clean it up on upgrades.

I am not sure if those messages are actually errors.
However, these appear (and have done this for a long time) whenever you try to
upgrade or reinstall GTK+3 package.

[Bug 1447224] Re: Regression: Unable to select audio or subtitle tracks

2015-06-11 Thread Peter Würtz
Sorry, but why did you remove the my reported regression concerning the
menu in VLC?

What is the solution now? Totem gets some workaround, but the bug in
Unity/Appmenu remains, leaving VLC and who knows how many other
applications in a broken state?

[Bug 1464185] [NEW] Mobile Broadband neglects USB Ethernet WAN

2015-06-11 Thread Michael Titke
Public bug reported:

I usually connect my smartphone to my Mac via USB.

Some years ago I discovered (still on Mac OS X) that in addition to the usual
dial-up connection of my smartphone attached to my Mac there was a WAN
connection on the same device with an IP-adress. I sent a ping on it but no
response. At some point later in time that WAN connection became active as soon
as I attached the smartphone to my Mac and I was connected to the Internet
without any dial-up / PPP but with an ethernet/WAN style connection.
From then on when I wanted to connect to the Internet I just attached the
smartphone via USB.

Now I am on Ubuntu 15.04 (with network-manager 0.9.10.0-4ubuntu15) and when I
attach my smartphone I see the following behaviour of the network-manger:
1) the ususal Ethernet connection as soon as the smartphone is attached and
then my smartphone connects to the Internet
2) something neglects that Ethernet connection and brings it down - I can't
find it anymore
3) with my smartphone still connected to the internet I can tell the network
manager to use my mobile broadband via dial-up
4) it dials up and my smartphone somehow converge this with the existing
connection to the Internet
5) now I can use the Internet from within Ubuntu on my Mac

My provider currently is O2 Deutschland / Telefonica Germany and I have
a prepaid flatrate.

The described behavior works reasonably well but I do see that something
neglects the plugsurf wan/ethernet connection. This may be different
for each and every combination of provider, data plan and smartphone but
perhaps it would be possible to investigate this issue to allow for that
easy plugsurf behavior again.

Thank you!
