[Bug 1496692] [NEW] Wifi connects and then disconnects shortly afterward on Acer Travelmate 4200

2015-09-17 Thread Les Eleniak
Public bug reported:

Whenever I attempt to connect via Wifi, my connection remains up for 30
seconds at most before disconnecting.

(I can successfully browse for the few seconds it remains connected.)
If I have it set to automatically connect, it "connects" then "drops"
repeatedly.
Other machines on network WPA-AES do not have this issue.

Using network-manager and haven't instead installed wicd *yet*.
Hopefully this can be resolved first. =)

Note:

- ifupdown was installed and handling eth0 (eth0 was not detected by
network-manager during installation).

- ifupdown is handling eth0 properly when ethernet cord connected.

- wlan device losing connection not a signal strength issue (same room
as the router).

- whether or not eth0 connection is connected or disconnected makes no
difference to wlan losing connecting and losing connection shortly
afterward

[Bug 1312073] Re: /usr/bin/compiz:6:__libc_message:malloc_printerr:_int_free:_int_realloc:__GI___libc_realloc

2015-09-17 Thread Steve Langasek
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1199571 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1199571

I believe this is a duplicate of bug #1199571, which was fixed in
freetype 2.5.2-2ubuntu2 (correcting multithreading problems).

The sharp dropoff on
https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/0b6f5fbea05701434a48d7685b5e7d783a8b70be
in February 2015 agrees with this - freetype 2.5.2-2ubuntu2 was released
23 Jan 2015.

[Bug 1496713] [NEW] package slapd 2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-09-17 Thread Dennis Leeuw
Public bug reported:

The only thing that seems to fail is the start:

Processing triggers for man-db (2.6.7.1-1ubuntu1) ...
Setting up slapd (2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8.2) ...
  Backing up /etc/ldap/slapd.conf in
/var/backups/slapd-2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8.1... done.
 * Starting OpenLDAP slapd

 [fail]
invoke-rc.d: initscript slapd, action "start" failed.

This seems to be the problem:
/usr/sbin/slapd -h ldap:/// ldapi:/// -g openldap -u openldap -f
/etc/ldap/slapd.conf

If I change it to:
/usr/sbin/slapd -h ldap:/// -g openldap -u openldap -f /etc/ldap/slapd.conf

All works fine.

[Bug 1016768] Re: unity workspace with left hand mouse

2015-09-17 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. Could you try if that's still an issue
with more recent versions? What do you mean " it apparently assumes that
I have a right hand mouse"? Here after changing the primary button in
the settings the workspace icon correct react to right click instead of
left ones.

  Backing up /etc/ldap/slapd.conf in
/var/backups/slapd-2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8.1... done.
 * Starting OpenLDAP slapd

 [fail]
invoke-rc.d: initscript slapd, action "start" failed.

This seems to be the problem:
/usr/sbin/slapd -h ldap:/// ldapi:/// -g openldap -u openldap -f
/etc/ldap/slapd.conf

If I change it to:
/usr/sbin/slapd -h ldap:/// -g openldap -u openldap -f /etc/ldap/slapd.conf

All works fine.

[Bug 1016377] Re: Show / Unshow toggle from tray icons of minimized applications does not 'show' window, only icon on unity bar

2015-09-17 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. What do you mean "lost"? Trying on the
current version, after checking again the "show" the transmission window
is listed in the launcher and you can click on it or alt-tab to it. What
else would you expect? Maybe the original issue has been resolved, could
you try on a more recent unity version?

please reopen and provide details on your configuration

I'm not sure how to proceed. I think it is a bug as i still experience
this behaviour (although i seem to be the only one, but that may be
because 2x 4k screens are not that common (yet)).

But how do i reopen this bug? I can't change the status and i can't find

[Bug 1432171] Re: [udev] Shows "starting version 219" boot message even with "quiet"

2015-09-17 Thread Michael
Having the same issue with a fresh install of Kubuntu 15.04 today.

Workaround: Ctrl+Alt+F2 , log in,
find the X process with "ps axuw | grep X ", then sudo kill it.

It's annoying to do that after every reboot, is there any permanent
workaround?

[Bug 1413818] Re: Notification sounds aren't being played back on E4.5

2015-09-17 Thread David Henningsson
Note: there's one more thing. paplay cannot play back mp3 files. Let's
take it one more time so it does not get lost in the noise:

*** paplay can not play back mp3 files! ***

Mp3 is not in the list of supported file formats for paplay, and trying
to play an mp3 back fails with "Failed to open audio file.". So even if
you fix the helper to fix the xdg path stuff, you also need to convert
/custom/usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/notifications/Aquaris.mp3 into a format
(or use something else than paplay).
