[Bug 1434986] Re: Not working network connection after boot

2015-10-27 Thread cethru
Had the same problem: NM was hanging after system start and i had no nm-
applet and no network connection.

Solution for me on Ubuntu 15.10, wired lan, manually entered network
configuration was:
sudo killall NetworkManager
sudo service NetworkManager start
sudo reboot

Shouldn't systemd start NM?

[Bug 1504992] Re: Cannot connect to Simple Mobile APN

2015-10-27 Thread Alfonso Sanchez-Beato
@delete I do not see any that any call to activate context has been
performed. Are you sure you executed the "activate-context" script? Note
that the idea is to follow the instructions of comment #10, but with the
new binaries.

[Bug 1510405] [NEW] Direct firmware load for radeon/kaveri_sdma1.bin failed with error -2

2015-10-27 Thread Timothy Lyanguzov
Public bug reported:

Version 1.149 of the package does not have
/lib/firmware/radeon/kaveri_sdma1.bin needed for the latest AMD DRM
module.

After booting my monitor is blank.

For other AMD chipsets *_sdma1.bin is needed as well:
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/cik_sdma.c(126): snprintf(fw_name, sizeof(fw_name),
"radeon/%s_sdma1.bin", chip_name);

Similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-

Horizon is affected because as long as cinderclient <1.4.0, if the user

[Bug 1500925] Re: Ubuntu 15.10 Idle freezing/screen not waking up

2015-10-27 Thread Ertan Günay
Hi
Actually this topic is still undecided even through it was so important for me.
Because, this computer is my workstation and sometime I don't use it several
days.
And some day I'd like to login to check somthing but the screen never came back.
Ctrl+Alt+F1 or other combination didn't response till reboot the system.
Or I'd like to get a communication via TeamViewer but this screen is same real
one as black.
So last 2-3 months I was very busy to overcome problem.
Because OS reinstallation should be last solution which called plan Z.

So
Yesterday I typed following commands than the problem fixed.
 dm-tool lock
 light-locker-command
 light-locker &
 light-locker-command -l
 lxlock
 sudo reboot

After booting up, the system has been back to normal.

Thanks
Ertan

[Bug 1422046] Re: cinder backup-list is always listing all tenants's bug for admin

This can be a security issue, because openstack admins may not be aware
that they are seeing other users' cinder backup ressources and can
delete them.

[Bug 1510388] Re: Grey buttons with white text look disabled (but they're not)

2015-10-27 Thread Daniel van Vugt
I think the common convention is:
High contrast between text colour and background = enabled
Low contrast between text colour and background = disabled

So where we use white text on a grey button, it doesn't look like a
valid button that's pushable.

Confirmed, I got that feedback from friends trying a bq phone as well.

Just as a note, that's what is recommended on

it's not really an unity8 specific issue

[Bug 1485682] Re: Mouse pointer flickers at using DisplayLink

2015-10-27 Thread Hannes Bochmann
I have the same problem.

I installed the Vivid enablement stack like suggested on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack and using now the
kernel 3.19 but sadly nothing changed.

If I switch from Unity to Gnome the flickering disappears but I would
prefer to keep Unity as I like the launcher. Maybe this helps.

[Bug 1510430] [NEW] Wrong format signature when saving

2015-10-27 Thread Javier Antonio Nisa Avila
Public bug reported:

When an email signature is created, never saved in version 3.16.5
formatting applied correctly. If you select the text or image input, no
matter if one or the other, and centras signature, or align right, when
you save, you placing it to the left.

If you enter the signature text, it is impossible to center it.
If you insert an image, after four or five attempts focused saved, but when
sending the receiver receives left-aligned.

Attachment message encoding and .eml to check.

Regards.

2015-10-27 Thread Xavi Garcia
I'm been working on the sound indicator for a few weeks running vivid in
the desktop and I've never observed the described issue.

Taking into account that the bug was reported on 2013, I'm not sure if
it should be tested by anybody from QA and confirm if it's fixed.

[Bug 1510407] [NEW] Cursor image is dislocated on start up

2015-10-27 Thread Daniel d'Andrada
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce the issue:

- Log into a unity8-mir session on a desktop/laptop
- While you're still in the unity8 lockscreen, move the mouse pointer to the
left, trying to hit the left boundary of the screen. You will see that the
cursor never reaches the left edge the screen but even so the launcher still
gets activated.

Changing the cursor shape, like moving the pointer over window border or
dragging a window, solves the issue.

This can be a security issue, because openstack admins may not be aware

[Bug 1510373] Re: package python-biopython 1.63-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 239

2015-10-27 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in
the application being used for the package installation process.
Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state
and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating
this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service
apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package
again? This process will create a new bug report so I am marking this
one as Invalid. Thanks again for helping out!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1508289] Re: xtrs: FTBFS with GCC 5: trs_memory.c:152:6: error: type of 'state' defaults to 'int' [-Werror=implicit-int]

2015-10-27 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package xtrs - 4.9c-3.5ubuntu1

---
xtrs (4.9c-3.5ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=medium

  * Merge from Debian unstable (LP: #1508289). Remaining changes:
- {debug, dis}.c: fix instances of "format not a string literal and no
format arguments" to fix build failure.
- Makefile: Remove -DHAVE_SIGIO to stop hangs on startup.
- trs_disk.c: Override unchecked usages of ftruncate, fwrite, and fread, as
there is no error checking on any other function around there.
- mkdisk.c: Handle errors from fwrite.
- trs_xinterface.c: Fix unused result warning and ignored retval error,
  resolving FTBFS.

xtrs (4.9c-3.5) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Fix function declare: type of 'state' defaults to 'int'
 [-Werror=implicit-int] (Closes: #798765)
