+ Workaround

I configured LILO on Salix partition by editing lilo.conf to uncomment
  append = "vt.default_utf8=1".

  # append = "vt.default_utf8=1"

Then grub2 works well without error message and updates grub.cfg with
correct variables of kernel option for Salix.

  linux /boot/vmlinuz-huge-3.10.17 root=/dev/sda2 ro vga = normal

I suggest the relevant scripts in 30_os-prober should be edited to

[Bug 1517564] [NEW] Settings "Clear" buttons use wrong side

2015-11-18 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Public bug reported:

Using ota8 candidate, open the webbrowser, go to settings ->
privacy -> Clear Browsing History/Cache

The confirmations dialog have a layout with "Cancel" on the left and
"Clear" on the right in green. Wouldn't it make more sense to have it
red and on the left?

https://design.ubuntu.com/apps/building-blocks/buttons lists
Delete/Archive/etc as destructive and red examples, "Clear" seems in
that category

http://design.ubuntu.com/apps/getting-started/design-vision has
"Negative actions such as deletion go on the left,"

[Bug 1517548] [NEW] shotwell crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_cast()

2015-11-18 Thread Scott Lewin
Public bug reported:

I was trying to delete a jpg image in Shotwell using the delete key when
the program became unresponsive. Shotwell then crashed with this
report.

I expected the program to delete the image and continue running.

I do not know if this helps, but previous to this action I was going
through a large amount of photos and tagging them.

[Bug 1517555] [NEW] Delete dialog is inconsistent with design recommendations

2015-11-18 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Public bug reported:

Similar to what is reported on bug #1389617 for camera/gallery, when
deleting a contact the current dialog has some issues

* it uses yes/no descriptions rather than verbs, it makes interaction
more difficult (if you tap "delete" you now what you are doing, if it's
"yes" you need more context)

* the colors are non standard, the delete action is green where
https://design.ubuntu.com/apps/building-blocks/buttons recommends red
for destructive actions

[Bug 1480877] Re: Access points' "PropertiesChanged" dbus signals freeze UI on mobile devices

2015-11-18 Thread Tony Espy
And some more details, by adding 'env QDBUS_DEBUG=1' to the unity8
upstart job, I'm getting a lot more detail without having to further
modify the code.

I'm seeing "Adding rule" log statements produced by
QDBusConnectionPrivate, but no corresponding "Removing rule" logs, so
sounds like my previous theory is on track ( ie. that reference counting
may be the cause ). That said, I'll need to add some more logging and
rebuild...

Also, while examining the DBus log, it looks like every time the plugin
sees a 'PropertiesChanged' message from the AccessPoint, it calls
"GetAll", which is pointless as all the changed properties are
transmitted with the signal...

[Bug 1517560] [NEW] Delete dialog is inconsistent with design recommendations

2015-11-18 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Public bug reported:

Similar to what is reported on bug #1389617 for camera/gallery, when
deleting a contact the current dialog has some issues

* it uses yes/no descriptions rather than verbs, it makes interaction
more difficult (if you tap "delete" you now what you are doing, if it's
"yes" you need more context)

* the colors are non standard, the delete action is green where
https://design.ubuntu.com/apps/building-blocks/buttons recommends red
for destructive actions

[Bug 1516547] Re: Ubuntu 15.10 crashes with RAID-10

2015-11-18 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I'd like to perform a bisect to figure out what commit caused this
regression. We need to identify the earliest kernel where the issue
started happening as well as the latest kernel that did not have this
issue.

Can you test the following kernels and report back? We are looking for
the first kernel version that exhibits this bug:

4.0 Final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.0-vivid/
4.1 Final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.1-wily/
4.2 Final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.2-wily/

You don't have to test every kernel, just up until the kernel that first has
this bug. We can then narrow down further by testing some release candidates.

Thanks in advance!

[Bug 1517547] Re: Dualshock 3 battery level

2015-11-18 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.3 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1516245] Re: Full URL of page not shown unless user clicks on it

2015-11-18 Thread James Mulholland
This is a largely matter of personal preference and not a bug - if you
look at other mobile browsers you'll see both approaches being used by
different products, e.g. :

- Opera Mobile Browser & - Safari Mobile Browser: Only host name is shown
- Chrome Mobile Browser & Firefox Mobile Browser : As much as possible from the
*beginning* of a URL is shown (so if a URL is longer than 14-20 characters,
only part of the host portion of the URL is visible anyway).

Thank you for taking the time to give us your opinion on this (we have
'opinion' and 'wishlist' categories for these sorts of items in future, as they
are not bugs)

[Bug 1511301] Re: Failed to upgrade fglrx from 14.502 to 15.200 on Trusty.

2015-11-18 Thread Chris J Arges
Hello Kai-Heng, or anyone else affected,

Accepted fglrx-installer into trusty-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-
installer/2:15.200-0ubuntu0.6 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1517538] [NEW] Crashes after exiting fullscreen

2015-11-18 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Public bug reported:

I have noticed that recently upon going fullscreen in VLC on Ubuntu
GNOME 15.10 with GNOME 3.18 that on most occasions when I exit
fullscreen (even if I've only been in it for a few seconds) I get logged
out of my user session (my computer automatically puts me in TTY2 for
some reason at startup although there is another GUI session (not
console) in TTY7) and get taken to the user session at TTY7 where I am
met with the thing with the time on it that I have time slide up to log
in, though it is a metal colour (and not the one I set it to for
anything): Metal.png

But it is not even as though my user session has simply been somehow
moved there as that is actually a separate user session that asks me to
log in and not to unlock my old session. And when I then go to TTY2,
instead of finding my session, I find the console login screen of TTY2.
So now I am basically unable to use fullscreen in VLC (it doesn't appear
to happen when using anything else) because my session seems to get
destroyed every time.

And I am not sure if this is a bug with VLC or Xorg, so I thought I
should report it under both, I am also not sure if it would just happen
with VLC, but so far that has been the only fullscreen application to
have this happen at the same time as it running.

[Bug 1517539] [NEW] Libvirt can not create snapshot

2015-11-18 Thread Alan Krause
Public bug reported:

When I try to create a snapshot of a running virtual machine using the
following command:

virsh snapshot-create-as --quiesce --domain dns sn1 --diskspec
hda,file=/home/alank/vm/dns-sn1.qcow2 --disk-only --atomic

I receive the following error message: "error: internal error: cannot
update AppArmor profile 'libvirt-ffa7fd3a-e521-46e4-83b0-b982fe75773d'"

I'm not sure if this is a libvirt issue or an AppArmor issue.
