to communicate with the mirror of Ubuntu which you are using.

[Bug 1516616] Re: can't boot lubuntu 15.10 try lubuntu without install

2015-11-23 Thread Vladimir Malis
** Tags added: xenial

** Description changed:

I can't boot lubuntu live 15.10 desktop i386 on my laptop. Booting takes
several hours. Computer is just stuck on loading screen with lubuntu logo and
five dots under it (dots are moving)
I already tried boot with acpi=off, noapic, nolapic, edd=on, nomodeset,
nodmraid
I checked checksum of the iso image and after burning a DVD disk i did
verification against the iso image.

  Hardware: HP compaq nw8240, Pentium M 740 1.73GHz Dothan (SSE2, PAE, NX
bit), 2GB DDR2 ram, intel pro/wireless 2200BG, Trusted Platform Module,
ATI mobility FireGL V5000 128MB, matsushita DVD writer (PATA), 250GB HDD
(PATA), some BT adapter, broadcom bcm5751MKFB ETH NIC

I tried also "try lubuntu without install" 14.04.3 LTS i386 desktop,
that one did boot, but didn't recognise my wifi card, wifi LED on laptop
was blinking as if the OS was turning the wifi card on and off and on
  again.

couple errors discovered during live boot of lubuntu 15.10:
adding live session user pwconv: failed to change the mode of
/etc/passwd- to 0600
systemd[1]: failed to insert module `kdbus`
failed to start load kernel modules.
(just for record, it took about 15 minutes of boot time to get to the above
mentioned error)
+
+ This problem is present also on lubuntu xenial desktop build from

The ubuntu-minimal package was not found after rewriting your
sources.list file. Its possible this was due to an error communicating
with the mirror of Ubuntu which you use. You might try using a different
mirror, or checking your network. Thanks and good luck!

[Bug 1442105] Re: GPS not working on my BQ Ubuntu Touch

2015-11-23 Thread ockels
Still a completely unusable GPS ubuntu system on the BQ Aquaris 4.5
here 15.04 (OTA-8) updated 23-11-2015 bought in the second flash sale.
A GPS only fix can hardly be found. WLAN and/or celldata does help a bit
to 'guess' the location. But it's never accurate or fast enough to be
usable. I thought maybe my phone was broken so i tried flashing the
phone with android firmware from BQ and a GPS-fix was found whithin 3
minutes. Of course i flashed it back to ubuntu, but the this bug is
present since the beginning and i'm still hoping this annoying issue
will be fixed with a high priority.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see

[Bug 1519049] [NEW] Cannot exit and stop 'Run Click' when creating new device kit

2015-11-23 Thread Zachary Igielman
Public bug reported:

When using the SDK, I create an app (for example clicking 'create new
project' then 'QML App with Simple UI (qmlproject)'), and choose to
create a new device kit in the project setup window (selecting any
framework or architecture), a 'Run Click' window appears that says
'Waiting for click to stop' and displays a log showing the creation of a
new device kit.

When I want to stop this process (due to a mistake in configuration, or
if I don't actually need a new device kit especially for this app), I
can't. I press the close button in the top of the window and a dialog
asks me if I want to stop the click tool because it could break my
chroot. Even if I select yes, nothing happens, and the device kit
continues to be created. I simple cannot stop click through the GUI.

[Bug 1448092] Re: [needs-packaging] ibmpmlinux

2015-11-23 Thread Guo, Liang Chang
Hi Mathieu,

Thank you for your review to the detail. I now upload PMUbuntu files
with a few minor changes regarding file mode & gzip -n that you
suggested.

The crontab message is normal for an uninitialized spool crontab file of
root. PMUbuntu's cron entry is required to be created at /etc/cron.*, so
our installation scripts need to ensure PM cron entry does not exist in
spool/crontab, and delete it if found. If someone already has other
entries in root's crontab, then there will be no error from crontab
querying, and the scripts can continue to do whatever needed (likely
nothing on Ubuntu if nobody installed PMUbuntu and adjusted the settings
before).

We still need /usr/sbin/config.PMLnx until Ubuntu can fully handle /opt.
By now, the support of /opt is partially broken for all Ubuntu releases.
For example, with default, root profile does not contain either /opt/man
for manpage search, or /opt/(s)bin for executable search ($PATH).

Maintainer scripts are also necessary for now. There are some
flexibilities provided by PMUbuntu that the hard-coded package
installers (dpkg/rpm) can not manipulate, such as directory layout
selection and crontab/configuration rollback.

dpkg-buildpackage"

[Bug 1519049] Re: Cannot exit and stop 'Run Click' when creating new device kit

2015-11-23 Thread Zoltan Balogh
Thanks for reporting this issue. The real problem is that terminating a
chroot bootsrapping is really a very dirty thing. It can leave a half
creted schroot on your system what can be removed manually. Careless
removal of broken chroots can cause serious problems.

I know for example an very stupid user who tried to just sudo rm the
broken choot... while the $HOME was mounted. That very stupid user was
me :)

I know it is annoying, we are thinking about alternative solutions and
investigating the topic, but I doubt it will be resolved soon. We can
remove the "question" from that dialog and simple state that sorry this
is an operation what can not be cancelled.

The one good alternative of boostraping the chroot Kit is to to use
static Kits. That comes from the ubuntu-sdk-api-15.04-[armhf|i386]
packages. sudo apt-get install will pull them from the SDK PPA.

[Bug 1509556] Re: Kubuntu Wily upgrade screen glitch with 4.2 kernel

2015-11-23 Thread Dario Teixeira
I'm also experiencing Intel Graphics issues on two different systems
running Kubuntu Wily. One is a Baytrail Chromebook, and the other is a
desktop system with a Haswell Pentium processor. In both systems, using
the OpenGL Kwin compositors results in all manners of graphical glitches
and system instabilities. The only solution so far has been to revert
to XRender. Note that the desktop system was upgraded from Kubuntu
Vivid, which ran fine.

[Bug 1506187] Re: [SRU] Azure: cloud-init should use VM unique ID

2015-11-23 Thread Chris J Arges
Hello Stephen, or anyone else affected,

Accepted cloud-init into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-
init/0.7.5-0ubuntu1.15 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

** Changed in: cloud-init (Ubuntu Trusty)
   Status: New => Fix Committed

[Bug 1311387] Re: postinst fails when installing on a low memory system

2015-11-23 Thread Andrew Starr-Bochicchio
Interestingly, using 5.6.27-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 on 14.04 on a 512mb server
consistently fails to install while 5.6.27-0ubuntu1 with 15.10 doesn't.
I don't see any obvious configuration difference scanning the diff
though.

[Bug 1519083] [NEW] Left mouse bottom stops working

2015-11-23 Thread path
Public bug reported:

At times the left mouse events stop working. After a short moment the
left mouse button starts working again. I'm using a Bluetooth mouse that
connects to a dongle in a usb port.

I was looking at the mouse events in three different test. As it turns out the
mouse events stop showing up in all of these cases.
xinput --test %id%
sudo cat /dev/input/mouse0
watch -d -n 0.1 cat /proc/interrupts

It's hard to spot when the interrupts stop showing up. You'll need to
align and overlap the terminals closely and keep clicking until it
occurs. If more people can reproduce this test. Then I figure it could
be a kernal bug.

[Bug 1519082] [NEW] Left mouse bottom stops working

2015-11-23 Thread path
Public bug reported:

At times the left mouse events stop working. After a short moment the
left mouse button starts working again. I'm using a Bluetooth mouse that
connects to a dongle in a usb port.

I was looking at the mouse events in three different test. As it turns out the
mouse events stop showing up in all of these cases.
xinput --test %id%
sudo cat /dev/input/mouse0
watch -d -n 0.1 cat /proc/interrupts

It's hard to spot when the interrupts stop showing up. You'll need to
align and overlap the terminals closely and keep clicking until it
occurs. If more people can reproduce this test. Then I figure it could
be a kernal bug.

[Bug 1519086] [NEW] SSSD LDAP authentication fails with id_provider as proxy

2015-11-23 Thread Jacob
Public bug reported:

With the SSSD package provided in Ubuntu 14.04, when using ldap as an
authentication provider but configuring the id provider to proxy, SSSD
fails to connect via LDAP. This error was brought up on the following
serverfault question in an answer by user jhrozek.

https://serverfault.com/questions/737130/sssd-for-ldap-user-
authentication-only-just-bind-on-ubuntu-local-databases-fo

This bug has been found and patched so I feel I don't need to go into a
lot of detail, but it's a simple enough fix that I would like to request
the patch be pulled into the current release to work with Ubuntu 14.04
since 16.04 is not yet stable for production deployments.

More information on the patch: https://fedorahosted.org/sssd/ticket/2620

Release: 14.04.3
Package Version: 1.11.5-1ubuntu3

Expected Behavior: Query user in LDAP for attributes objectclass and
uid, then successfully bind that user via LDAP to authenticate.

Actual Behavior: Upon calling ldap_search_ext, generates error message
in logs that LDAP connection is not connected

** Affects: sssd (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1519063] Re: add btrfs-tools and xfsprogs to seeds

2015-11-23 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1519063/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
