[Bug 1361940] Re: patches for cgo on arm64

2015-11-26 Thread Michael Hudson-Doyle
So I started doing verification for this, found that the patches from
bug 1361946 are required, brought them up to date, and then the arm64
node I was testing fell over. Next week, I guess.

** Tags added: apport-collected xenial

** Description changed:

I have recently installed Ubuntu 15.10 (64-bit) alongside Windows 10 on an
Acer Aspire VN7-792G-76ZH and discovered, that the Qualcomm wireless card
doesn't work.
The card has the device id 168c:003e as many other cards, for example the
Qualcomm Atheros Killer
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1383184),
but it has a newer revision number (32) and the suggested fixes work only
partially and the wireless is unusable.

The computer has just been released this summer and is Intel Skylake
  -based.

  What I have tried:

I've tried the patch from bug 1383184, which has a fix for the card
  revision 20:

  Make the directory /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/

And put in the patch files:
  board.bin
  firmware-4.bin
  notice_ath10k_firmware-4.txt

ath10k_pci succeeds in loading the firmware, but it seems that the
  firmware is not working correctly:

[Bug 1520229] Re: Wrong Epson URL

2015-11-26 Thread Robert Ancell
** Description changed:

- Bug detected on another computer than mine under Ubuntu 15.10 so cannot
- give "ubuntu-bug simple-scan" informations ...
+ [Impact]
+ Dialog that prompts user to install Epson drivers goes to an invalid URL.

- When I use a non-installed Epson scanner device (Epson Stylus SX130),
- the link to download the driver is wrong : epsom instead of epson.
+ [Test Case]
+ 1. Connect an Epson scanner
+ 2. Open Simple Scan
+ 3. Click "Install drivers" link
+ 4. Follow link to Epson website

- In src/ui.vala, at line 1599:
- Drivers for this are available on the http://support.epsom.com\
+ Expected result:
+ Browser goes to Epson website

- should be :
- Drivers for this are available on the http://support.epson.com\
+ Observed result:
+ Browser goes to invalid URL www.epsom.com/support

- When you use the given link, even if it's "epson" in PO files,
- "epsom.com" is open.
+ [Regression Potential]
+ Low. URL just corrected for typo.

2015-11-26 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1520343] Re: Qualcomm Atheros wireless card [168c:003e] (rev 32) not supported

2015-11-26 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1520343/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you

[Bug 1516320] Re: Cannot change backlight on my laptop

2015-11-26 Thread adam
I've got drm-intel-nightly from 2015-11-25 compiled and tested on this laptop
(due to a bug with cycle-dependency in LNET, you need to disable LNET and
LUSTRE modules, than comment CLEAN in Makefile that has deb-pkg target,
otherwise just follow instructions for
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds)

kernel: 4.4.0-rc2-custom

Backligh works only with acpi_osi=

Not sure if related, but there is a a warning while installing this deb kernel:
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/i915/skl_guc_ver4.bin for module i915

[Bug 1520225] Re: lxc-stop powered off a server

2015-11-26 Thread Stéphane Graber
Because it's needed for things like the Android container on Ubuntu
Touch, application containers on OpenWRT, ...

There are legitimate use cases for those features, those use cases just
never apply when running a full Linux distro inside the container :)

LXC used to default to sharing the netns by default when no lxc.network
entry was set, that was clearly bad design and we've fixed that (no
defaulting to an empty netns), but if someone specifically sets
lxc.network.type=none or passes --share-net 1, we give them exactly what
they requested.

[Bug 1520359] [NEW] Xorg freeze

2015-11-26 Thread Ibrahim Awwal
Public bug reported:

I don't actually know if it's an xorg issue, but since upgrading to
15.10 I've been experiencing a lot of random lockups. Nothing responds,
can't restart X11 with ctrl-alt-backspace (I have that enabled) or
switch to a terminal using ctrl-alt-f1 or etc. I end up having to reboot
by holding the power button.

I tried to send a bug report using apport-bug, so I hope the proper
information is attached. Happy to help debug further, I haven't been
able to find anything suspicious in /var/log/syslog so I don't know what
to do further.

[Bug 1353988] Re: Taglib causes crash

2015-11-26 Thread Daniel Schürmann
Taglib 1.10 fixes this bug and a lot of other real life crashers.
Imho it is worth to put a 1.10 to the default update repositories.
This will improve stability of almost all media players.

At Mixxx, we are considering to provide Taglib 1.10 via the app ppa in a same
way like Ilya does.
We can avoid a possible minor versioning clash, if we had a single resource.

As a part of the Stable Release Updates quality process a search for

[Bug 1520369] [NEW] 3G not working when wifi is selected, even if no wifi available

2015-11-26 Thread Dave H
Public bug reported:

Hi I am using a Meizu MX4 with the OTA 8 update. If I try to select 3G
"in the open" with no wifi signal (but wifi turned on) the phone
doesn’t switch to 3G and stays on wifi. I understand that auto switching
between 3G and wifi is a good thing and wifi should take priority, but
if there is no wifi is available in the area then I would have thought
the phone should switch to 3G when selected.

Note, the old MX4 problem with wifi dropping out (from the same router) when
moving around a building, and not reconnecting is still occurring with the OTA
8 update. This is not serious but very annoying. The only way to reconnect is
to turn wifi off then back on again.
If the phone knows it is connected to the internet, then looses connection,
could you not just treat this in the same way as the first time it connected in
the building. I guess the same idea could also help for the above 3G problem.
In this case if wifi on, but no signal then 3G takes priority even if the wifi
is on.

Thanks for your hard work, love Ubuntu Touch and have also flashed a
Nexus 4 to try some stuff of my own.

Regards

Dave H

[Bug 1520361] Re: D-link DWL-G132

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1520361/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1492764] Re: [drm:intel_pipe_config_compare [i915]] *ERROR* mismatch in ips_enabled (expected 1, found 0)

2015-11-26 Thread Matthew Lovibond
I'm on 4.3.0-040300-generic #201511020949 and don't get the errors.

I was still stuck on on software rendering so unity was horribly slow
until I found an xorg.conf file that was specifying a "mali fbdev"
device (/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf). Once this was
removed (actually commented out) I had hardware rendering back.

Did this file get created because the system was a clean install made
with the duff 4.2 kernel?

[Bug 1515463] Re: Broken juju LXC deployments

2015-11-26 Thread Brad Marshall
This does indeed appear to work correctly, I've deployed a container
using juju:

ubuntu@apollo:~$ dpkg-query -W lxc
lxc 1.0.8-0ubuntu0.3

ubuntu@apollo:~$ sudo lxc-ls --fancy
NAME STATEIPV4IPV6 AUTOSTART
--
juju-machine-0-lxc-0 RUNNING x.y.z.171 - YES
juju-trusty-lxc-template STOPPED - - NO

ubuntu@apollo:~$ sudo lxc-attach -n juju-machine-0-lxc-0
root@juju-machine-0-lxc-0:~#

Thanks!

[Bug 1290217] Re: The overwriting error message was: Key file does not have group 'connectivity'

2015-11-26 Thread delt
My laptop (ubuntu studio 64bit) just suddenly decided to have this
problem.

The network menu shows "NetworkManager is not running", if i try to run
NetworkManager directly, it shows this error and exits.

I tried futzing around with the config files, didn't work :/
