[Bug 1537211] Re: clean up /var/log/udev.log

2016-01-26 Thread Martin Pitt
I grepped the whole archive and the only hook that explicitly attaches
/var/log/udev was libmtp (which got fixed in
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libmtp/1.1.10-2ubuntu1).

[Bug 1537472] Re: Synaptics touchpad not recognised - OK on linux-image-3.13.0-74-generic 3.13.0-74.118

2016-01-26 Thread John Leake
Glad to assist but this is on the edge of my experience. I had the same
problems with the header dependencies when installing, however 4.5-rc1
booted and the touchpad is still not recognised. I noticed that there
was a TPM (6) error on boot. Sorry I do not know how to provide you
with any more info.

[Bug 1522422] Re: Update to php 7.0

2016-01-26 Thread bhat3
To stop further disinformation most of PHP 7 is already packaged for
xenial:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=php7=names=xenial=all

So let's concentrate on whats missing. I think we're missing some
extensions so far like:

php7.0-mysqlnd (neither in Ondřej's PPA or Ubuntu!)
imagemagick (in Ondřej's PPA but Ubuntu has only php5-imagick)
graphicsmagick (neither in Ondřej's PPA or Ubuntu!)

@Ondřej can you give a little overview regarding missing extension?

BTW I am willing to help with the packaging :)

[Bug 1461873] Re: [messaging] Ability to forward SMS without copy 'n past approach

2016-01-26 Thread Rae Shambrook
@fcole90 sorry for the delay, the new spec is linked in the bug
description

** Description changed:

It would be nice if the SMS app swipe left context had the ability to forward
the SMS to other receivers.
The existing approah where one can swipe left and copy the content and then
paste into a new SMS seems less intuitive.
-

  **

This feature is in the new designs but has yet to be implemented.

[Bug 1534340] Re: openssh server 6.6 does not report max auth failures

2016-01-26 Thread Martin Pitt
Hello Kees, or anyone else affected,

Accepted openssh into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/1:6.6p1-2ubuntu2.5 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1535452] Re: [15.10 REGRESSION] Builtin laptop display doesn't turn back on when external hdmi monitor is unplugged

2016-01-26 Thread teo1978
The usual bullshit again, I'm sick of it.

Did you miss the part where i said this used to work on 15.04? Just in case i
was not clear about it, that was on the same computer with the same bios.
So, it's not a bug in the bios, or in the extremely unlikely event that it is,
it can and hence must be worked around, as it worked in previous releases.

I'm not upgrading my bios until Ubuntu will provide an easy and safe
way to do so without relying on booting from another OS.

There are computers out there with outdated bios, fucking accept that.
If you don't drop this retarded policy of ignoring bugs just because
they appear on older bioses, Ubuntu will never become a decent usable
OS, and we are already finishing the alphabet.

[Bug 1534340] Re: openssh server 6.6 does not report max auth failures

2016-01-26 Thread Martin Pitt
Hello Kees, or anyone else affected,

Accepted openssh into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/1:6.6p1-2ubuntu2.5 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1537762] Re: syncrepl does not work when using tls

2016-01-26 Thread Ian Gordon
Thanks for the pointers (I have no idea why I failed to find the gnutls26 bug
yesterday when I looked)

bug 1533230 comment #12
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnutls26/+bug/1534230/comments/12)
seems to be the same problem as I'm having.

Using the command:

gnutls-cli -p 636 ldaphost.domain.com --priority 'SECURE256:+SIGN-RSA-
SHA224:+SIGN-DSA-SHA224'

works but

gnutls-cli -p 636 ldaphost.domain.com --priority 'SECURE256'

does not work and gives an error of

*** Fatal error: The signature algorithm is not supported.
*** Handshake has failed
GnuTLS error: The signature algorithm is not supported.

Our slapd.conf file contained a

TLSCipherSuite SECURE256:-VERS-SSL3.0

which I think explains where syncrepl fails but ldapsearch still works
as it will use a SECURE128 cipher

I don't understand why I now need to add specific signature algorithms
to list now though?

[Bug 1508110] Re: Users tab doesn't work as expected

2016-01-26 Thread Martin Pitt
Hello Alex, or anyone else affected,

Accepted landscape-client into trusty-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/landscape-
client/14.12-0ubuntu3.14.04 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1057024] Re: kvm kernel module always loaded, without setting /dev/kvm permissions

2016-01-26 Thread Dmitry Teselkin
It looks like the bug still exists in 'trusty', qemu-kvm 2.0, however,
it's not clear why.

Aftre installation /dev/kvm have wrong permissions:
---
crw--- 1 root root 10, 232 Jan 20 02:09 /dev/kvm
---

Reinstalling qemu-system-common fixes the problem.

I did a simple research, and here is what I've found:

* The code to fix acl still exists, but was moved to qemu-system-common package.
* There is no /lib/udev/rules.d/70-udev-acl.rules, it looks like ACLs for
/dev/kvm are set by /lib/udev/rules.d/70-uaccess.rules, there is a string:
---
SUBSYSTEM=="misc", KERNEL=="kvm", TAG+="uaccess"
---
* A builtin function 'builtin_uaccess' [1] is called to set permissions
according to the following string from /lib/udev/rules.d/73-seat-late.rules:
---
TAG=="uaccess", ENV{MAJOR}!="", RUN{builtin}+="uaccess"

[Bug 1538049] [NEW] xenstore crashes with SIGBUS in domain_can_read()

2016-01-26 Thread Stefan Bader
Public bug reported:

Problem got introduced by xen-4.6 in Xenial. Older versions are
unaffected.

Testcase:
 - Start one additional domU (PV or HVM does not matter)
 - Repeatedly execute "xenstore-ls"

Eventually the xenstore-ls call locks up while xenstored crashes when it
tries to access memory in

tools/xenstore/xenstored_domain.c:255 domain_can_read(struct connection
*conn)

Debugging shows that conn->domain->interface at the time of crash
returns a completely different address than before (there should only be
one per running domain, so 2).

[Bug 1535456] Re: Xorg crashed when attempting to turn on laptop's builtin display

2016-01-26 Thread teo1978
I'm not wasting my time doing all that stuff.

I reported this bug using the ubuntu-bug tool. If a crash report is
needed or useful and it was not included, the tool is broken, and you
need to fix it so that the next time i use ubuntu-bug or apport,
everything you need to investigate the bug is included automatically.

Also, you ask me to reproduce the bug, and it's not systematically
reproducible.

exactly the correct fix (which would require the QInputInfo API),
but is better than the current situation anyway. (LP: #1533317)
  * Ensure that only one instance of the app is running. (LP: #1535199)
  * Fix failing autopilot test. With recent changes in the UITK, swiping
a non-swipeable item to the right activates it. (LP: #1534139)
  * Fix undefined reference when dragging a bookmark from one folder to
another one.
  * Show the share action if Ubuntu.Content is available, regardless of
the form factor.

[Bug 1535058] Re: applications close instantly when launched from the launcher or dash

2016-01-26 Thread Andrea Bernabei
Updates:

Serge suggested to

1. Edit /etc/pam.d/common-session to change the pam_cgm.so line to just
session optionalpam_cgm.so

But I couldn't find that line in my common-session file.
After a brief research, I found out that file is supposed to come from
libpam-cgm, which was not installed on my system!

I installed libpam-cgm and boom! I can run apps on Unity8!

So, somehow libpam-cgm is not being pulled in, how do we proceed?

[Bug 1537324] Re: No brightness control on Samsung NP530U4E-K01RU

2016-01-26 Thread Andrey Makeev
Testing with 4.5-rc1 results:
/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/ appeared.
Brightness changes if i echo the value to
/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness

Tracked it down to this kernel.org bug report:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108971
It seems to be exactly the same issue.

For now I added kernel parameter acpi_backlight=video to grub config and
changed backlight control interface in xorg.conf to acpi_video0. Works
fine.
