[Bug 1440608] Re: /etc/kernel/postinst.d/apt-auto-removal wants to remove all kernels except the latest one

2016-02-02 Thread Cavsfan
The installation of the 4.4.0-2-generic in Xenial 16.04 went well, It
left 3 kernels in 01autoremove-kernels so I manually purged the 3rd
oldest one. Now there are 2 there. I updated my /etc/kernel/postinst.d
/apt-auto-removal with version 5 above.

2016-02-02 Thread Martin Beynon
Unfortunately, I have found that it did not work for me.

I first tried a standard apt-get upgrade (in which I noticed a new
network-manager package) and rebooted, to find no real change - network-
manager still SEGVs.

Then I tried downgrading libnl-3 (as described above) and rebooted.
Again, no change - network-manager still SEGVs.

We do not want to change our whole installation environment for 14.04.4 so I
try to use "apt-setup/proposed=true" at the boot command line. Is that enough ?
I still see this error after finishes install on new kernel -27.

[Bug 1540243] Re: Packaged version must match version of virtualbox package

2016-02-02 Thread Jan Henke
@kfunk: There is also a GUI option for that, but that is not the point
of this bug. It is possible to download these things manually, but they
are also packaged, so the packaged version must continue to work even
after a security related update.

That is currently not the case, so the whole point is to make the
package maintainer aware he/she needs to update those associated
packages as well.

[Bug 1540517] Re: many igb errors in log

2016-02-02 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? This
will help determine if the problem you are seeing is the result of a
regression, and when this regression was introduced. If this is a
regression, we can perform a kernel bisect to identify the commit that
introduced the problem.

Re: [Bug 1539634] Re: network-manager crashes when using libnl-3-200-3.21.1-1ubuntu1

2016-02-02 Thread Ryan Harper
Correct. We pushed the nm fix so anyone using trusty-proposed would be
fixed but the libnl fix needs more time to test. Only users who have
trusty-proposed are affected and this fixes that while we do further
validation on libnl dependent applications for regressions.

You edited your /etc/default/grub file and fouled it up:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
usbhid.quirks=0x0c45:0x7603:0x4

The option you added at the end needs to be within the quotes.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:

[Bug 1470250] Re: [Hyper-V] Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Generation 2 SCSI Errors on VSS Based Backups

2016-02-02 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Commit a689d2510 was cc'd to stable, but it was not picked up for Vivid
yet. It may not get picked up in time before Vivid goes EOL.

I'm going to see if this issues can still be reproduced with the latest
4.5 mainline kernel.

[Bug 1529232] Re: Scanner not detected over wifi since after 3.13.0-68

2016-02-02 Thread Lucas Partridge
Canon have come back with: "Unfortunately you need to wait for
scangearmp to update so that it then supports ubuntu version 14.04. We
are not yet aware of a scheduled time of release for this update, the
only thing I can recommend is that you keep an eye on the website to see
when the scangear is updated to support this."

And I notice now at the download link for scangearmp v2.20 it says under
System Requirements: Fedora 18(32bit/64bit) Ubuntu 13.04(32bit/64bit)

So, maybe when Canon update scangearmp to support 14.04 they'll take a
look at this bug...

2016-02-02 Thread Serge Hallyn
I have no idea, unfortunately i've not been able to get far enough with
unity8 to reproduce this. Could you please restart cgmanager with the
--debug command line option, reproduce, then send me the debug log?

Also show the /proc/self/cgroup output for the task (upstart?) that
does the failed firing off of apps. Thanks!

Yes, this is still an issue. We agreed with Alfonso that ofono will use
AccountsService to get the default sim card for calls.
It needs some work on telephony-service and system-settings.

[Bug 1541079] [NEW] mp4 video not displaying after ota-9 update

no longer display in media player. I get a white screen and no video

[Bug 1418040] Re: Calling from car using bluetooth, call is placed on ril_0, even though ril_1 is default

2016-02-02 Thread Robie Basak
If this will take a while, then would it be possible to have ofono
default to a deterministic SIM for outbound calls as an interim
workaround? Eg. sort them by some key and take the lowest one, or use
the lowest numbered port or something. Then I could swap the SIM cards
around (if needed) to get the behaviour I need without having to wait
for a full solution.

[Bug 1535421] Re: Xchat: doesn't connect doesn't store info once added

2016-02-02 Thread Christopher Townsend
This was quite a strange one to track down, but in the short of it,
~/.config/dconf needs to be bind-mounted into the container. When xchat
would read gconf settings, they would always return null even though it
just set the key. This is due to how gconf settings are written and
read.

When writing a key, it goes over dbus. In our case, since we have the
dbus session bride, the host ~/.config/dconf/user backend would get
updated. However, when reading a key, it tries to read directly from
the file and since the backend was not bind-mounted, the container's
backend did not have any info in it.

At any rate, the fix is to bind-mount the ~/.config/dconf directory.
