[Bug 1394368] Re: Bluetooth with AR9462 doesn't work (New ID /Firmware)

2016-02-11 Thread Pilot6
What is the Ubuntu version? Why not just upgrade your kernel?

If you have Ubuntu 14.04, remove that module and run

sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-wily

it will install kernel 4.2 with this patch already included.

[Bug 1544191] Re: Facebook, Flickr and Fitbit login page is too small in side stage

2016-02-11 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
Here is a screenshot for Facebook, but the problem is similar for flickr
and fitbit. It's like it opens the desktop version of the login form
instead of the mobile version in the side stage window.

Instagram or Twitter nicely fit the side stage.

For Soundcloud, the login window is a bit too wide and the 'Confirm'
button is partially visible.

[Bug 1488719] Re: dmesg shows "[drm:gen8_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* The master control interrupt lied (SDE)!"

2016-02-11 Thread Markus
I have that message with a HP EliteBook 850 G2 and docking station under
kernel 3.19.0-49-generic on Xubuntu 14.04. I think it causes an issue
with unrecognised external monitor. I have attached the syslog while
reproducing via following steps:

0. directly after boot: external display is not recognised even it's connected
to connected docking station (USB works fine)
1. disconnect docking station (line 1)
1. connect docking station (line 7)
2. activate external display (line 788)
3. deactivate external display (1407)
4. external display is not recognised again (USB works fine)

Maybe this is helpfull for fixing.

[Bug 1544453] [NEW] [MIR] foma

2016-02-11 Thread Timo Jyrinki
Public bug reported:

Availability: In universe, builds for all archs.

Rationale: Background is that xenial-proposed has suomi-malaga 2.0 (a
bit obsolete source name, as it's no longer malaga based - binary was
and is voikko-fi), which switches using "malaga" to using "foma" as the
tool for creating VFST based dictionary logic. The VFST backend in
libvoikko was declared stable by upstream last year and malaga is now
obsoleted. foma includes a finite state compiler and library.

No part of foma will be a runtime dependency in for example the default
desktop installation - for purposes of main packages depending on it, it
is only used during the build time of suomi-malaga 2.0.

malaga source package can be dropped from main if foma is promoted to
main. xenial-proposed currently has suomi-malaga 2.0 and libreoffice-
voikko 5.0 pending on this change, as well as bug #157 with a
debdiff to merge libvoikko 4.0.1 if foma is just made available.

Security: No known security history. No daemons or services. foma-bin
includes the finite state compiler tools.

Quality assurance: No bugs open in Ubuntu or Debian, but it is a fresh
package. The latest version is part of xenial and upcoming Debian
release.

Dependencies: All build dependencies are in main.

Standard compliance: Packaging seems compliant.

Maintenance: Upstream development has continued for 5 years, and the
software can be considered mature. I'm technically the maintainer but it
happens that while I was packaging foma also Debian Science Team was
doing their own packaging (https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debian-
science/packages/foma.git/) and they hadn't filed an ITP. It is a
requirement for them too as part of a larger effort to package HFST and
Apertium related packages. The maintainership can be formally
transferred to Debian Science Team later, but for now the related active
Science Team members are included in uploaders.

** Affects: foma (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Yes, this should be part of the deb package. There exist similar files in the
RHEL and SLES rpms.

However, if you prefer to package the token shared libs to e.g. /usr/lib
instead of /usr/lib/opencryptoki/stdll this would be a solution without
the additional ldconfig file.

[Bug 1544409] Re: Flash plugin is installed as a dependency of browser-plugin-freshplayer-pepperflash (freshplayerplugin) even if it is already installed by another package

2016-02-11 Thread Vincent Danjean
The Debian package will keep a Recommends. This package requires the
Google pepperflashplugins. The fact that pepperflashplugin-nonfree can
be avoided by manually installing it explains why this is a Recommends
instead of a Depends (i.e. users that really want can avoid the
installation of pepperflashplugin-nonfree). But, for average users, the
Recommends is good: by default, "apt-get install browser-plugin-
freshplayer-pepperflash" will give them a working flash plugin.

When reading this bug report, I agree that the Ubuntu package should
have an alternative. If someone tries to use it with Debian (ie
installing browser-plugin-freshplayer-pepperflash and adobe-flashplugin
but not pepperflashplugin-nonfree) and reports it works, I will also add
it in Debian.

One should also probably check that there are proper Conflicts/Replaces
between pepperflashplugin-nonfree and adobe-flashplugin (in particular
in Ubuntu that provides both packages)

[Bug 1544438] Re: ISST:LTE: LPAR roselp1 kexec_core from reboot command

2016-02-11 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1544438/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Not fixed in current mainline for ASUS TP300LA/J Flipbook. fix #69 does
not work either. Backlight and Ambient sensor works fine without
combinations of acpi_osi= etc. Adding them disables backlight from
working at all.

+ This has worked well but recently with new kernels 4.2.0-* I get problems.

Further investigations show that it is automount that fails when :
  1. a file is opened for writing on a nfs-mounted volume that autofs mounts
  2. autofs unmounts the nfs directory after five minutes of inactivity, AND
  3. the system is automatically suspended after ten minutes of inactivity

After resuming activity it is impossible to access the volume on the
  server

  To reproduce:
- cat > /path/to/file/on/automounted/nfs-dir/file.txt
- write some text
- wait for the system to suspend
+ cat > /path/to/file/on/automounted/nfs-dir/file.txt

[Bug 1544191] Re: Facebook, Flickr and Fitbit login page is too small in side stage

2016-02-11 Thread Olivier Tilloy
The default UA string the Ubuntu WebView sends is based on the *screen* size,
not the window size.
10" is considered big enough that it requests "desktop" content.
That’s a deliberate decision, but obviously the side-stage use case wasn’t
taken into account in the investigation that led to that decision.

We might need to add an API to the WebView to allow embedders to force
"small screen mode".

[Bug 1487729] Re: Tomahawk 0.8.4 or newer [needs upgrade]

2016-02-11 Thread Stefan Ahlers
The debian tomahawk package (https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/tomahawk) is
activly maintained by Kouhei Maeda and based on this source code:
https://github.com/oinume/tomahawk. It is "a simple ssh wrapper to
execute commands into many hosts".

This program is not related to the ubuntu tomahawk package
(https://launchpad.net/tomahawk), which based on https://github.com
/tomahawk-player/tomahawk, a "the multi-source music player". There is a
name mismatched between the debian tomahawk package and the ubuntu
tomahawk package.

See this information in the Debian Bugtracker: https://bugs.debian.org
/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=649287#27 or the first comment on this bug
report.

And so it is necassary to have two different source packages. I ask the
current maintainer of the ubuntu tomahawk package and he said I should
open a sponsoring request to update this package.

[Bug 1544462] [NEW] automount fails on resume after suspend if file open for writing

2016-02-11 Thread Seved Torstendahl
Public bug reported:

For a couple of years I have usually not shut down my pc after using it, I just
leave it and let it suspend.
(Of course I have also shut down the system completely every now and then.)
This has worked well but recently with new kernels 4.2.0-* I get problems.

Further investigations show that it is automount that fails when :
1. a file is opened for writing on a nfs-mounted volume that autofs mounts
2. autofs unmounts the nfs directory after five minutes of inactivity, AND
3. the system is automatically suspended after ten minutes of inactivity

After resuming activity it is impossible to access the volume on the
server

To reproduce:
cat > /path/to/file/on/automounted/nfs-dir/file.txt
write some text
wait for the system to suspend

Activate the system again and try to access the automounted volume

[Bug 1544453] Re: [MIR] foma

2016-02-11 Thread Timo Jyrinki
** Description changed:

+
+ ---
+
+ Foma can be tested "in action" (the resulting voikko-fi binary) from ppa
+ :timo-jyrinki/quantal-compiz-unity-testing which has the xenial-proposed
+ packages copied into together with new libvoikko from bug #157.

[Bug 1540511] Re: Touchpad not working (4.3 -> 4.4 regression)

2016-02-11 Thread David Henningsson
Tested kernels so far:

4.3.0-7 ubuntu - good (touchpad working)
4.5.0-040500rc3 - good (touchpad working)
4.4.0-4 ubuntu - bad (touchpad not working)
4.4.1-040401 - bad (touchpad not working)
4.5.0-040500rc1 - good (touchpad working)

Looks like a temporary regression in 4.4 - maybe we can bisect between
4.4 and 4.5rc1 to see if it's something we can backport?

[Bug 1542657] Re: Lenovo G50-30 notebook freezes randomly

2016-02-11 Thread sangharsh
Thanks @Joseph Salisbury
1. Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior
kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
- No. My laptop is new. I installed Ubuntu and problem started.

2. I will test the latest upstream karnel and I will let you know. I
have check the settings because I changed the settings suggested in this
link and my pc is running well since then. But I will change the
settings again and test the new karnel.J

3. Now the new question comes to my mind - why my karnel is not getting
auto updated when I run "update" to 4.5 (assuming its latest). I am
still at 4.2 -generic? Why so?

2016-02-11 Thread Richard
I updated the G2 34 nm drive, works fine.

G1 has the problem and Intel has decided no fix.

It is true that these drives are 7 years old, however the wear indicator says
there's another 14 years in them.
They sure were expensive but the only product tested to be reliable at the time.

2016-02-11 Thread Peter D.
Sorry for the duplication, but I will attach another copy of the same
file. *There is a change! * Spaces have been changed to "not a word"
characters "\W" in a grep pattern.

And I can now see what to click to add an attachment. Did I miss that,
or does it just not exist during bug report creation? A comment that,
"attachments can be made latter" would help. My apologies if such a
thing exists but I missed it.

Reply to Brad Figg's automatic script in #1:

$ apport-collect 1544809
You need to run 'sudo apt-get install python-apport' for apport-collect to work.

OK, that's why it didn't work. Installed pyton-apport then,

$ apport-collect 1544809
usage: whoopsie-upload-all [-h] [-t TIMEOUT]
whoopsie-upload-all: error: unrecognized arguments: 1544809

Something else is wrong. Will change the status to "confirmed" as
instructed. The logs are unlikely to be of much help in this case.

[Bug 1471462] Re: On bootup smartd reports FailedReadSmartSelfTestLog but there is no hardware problem

[Bug 1495314] Re: Crash when opening second site via new tab overview (favourites, popular sites, links from other apps)

2016-02-11 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Yeah I understand you don’t want to share your history db, that’s absolutely
fine, I wasn’t even asking for it :)
But if you keep a copy of it before clearing it next time it happens to you,
that may help debugging the issue.
Anyway, I’m glad to know that the issue hasn’t happened again so far.

[Bug 1170647] Re: After minimizing a Nautilus window of another partition or external media or Trash folder, clicking on the "Files" icon on the Launcher again doesn't restore the minimized window, bu

2016-02-11 Thread Rodrigo
Marco Trevisan wrote:

"Now the launcher will link each nautilus window to the related volume or trash

It's now possible to manage sub-windows from the parent icon like it happens for
every other application (so even spreading them or select from QL)"

@florians I do not know. Just update in april.

** Description changed:

  ***
   ISSUE
  ***

  HOW TO REPRODUCE

  1. Connect a removable media to the computer.
  2. On the launcher, click on the "Files" icon.
  3. On the left sidebar, click on the removable media icon or the trash.
  4. Minimize the window.
  5. Click on the "Files" icon.

  EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR

  - The Files window to be maximized.

  REAL BEHAVIOUR

  - A new window is opened.

  RELEVANT DETAILS

  - One way to navigate between windows at this moment is to use the
"control + tabulation" key combination, or to click again on the "Files"
  icon so windows are exposed.

Otherwise the minimized window Can be restored by clicking on the
Volume's launcher icon or scrolling on the Files icon

  **
   SOLUTION
  **

  WORK-AROUND

  - On the launcher, left click on the "Files" icon and select the "unlock
  from Launcher" option.

+ - Or hover the mouse over the Nautilus icon in the launcher, and roll
+ the mouse wheel down/up, it should switch to the Naulitus window without
+ open new instance of it.
+
  FIX

  - The launcher icon for "Files" to be treated the same way as if it was
  unlocked.

  REGRESSION POTENTIAL

  - Clicking on the "Files" icon won't send the user to its home folder,
but to the latest opened Files window.
