[Bug 1526968] Re: Gstreamer play with no sound when playing video with OPUS audio track

You will need to install gst-plugins-bad1.0 from universe.

Opus support has been moved from gst-plugins-bad1.0 to gst-plugins-
base1.0 in gstreamer 1.8. This change is also in the 2nd pre-release,
gstreamer 1.7.91 which is available in the currently under development
Ubuntu 16.04 "Xenial Xerus". Ubuntu 16.04 is scheduled for release on

[Bug 1559836] Re: BTRFS: Testing restore of file compressed with lzo falied

2016-03-21 Thread Steve Langasek
Accepting this as a medium-priority bug for Ubuntu. We do not use btrfs
as the default filesystem in Ubuntu for reasons far beyond a single
backup/restore test failure; we do not commit to fixing this bug for
16.04 release.

[Bug 1560294] [NEW] Installing Ubuntu for the first time. Created the bios boot area. On disk it was showing size as 16 MB, but during creation the selction indow showed it as 17 MB. While installing

2016-03-21 Thread Rajeev Arora
Public bug reported:

I have downloaded the latest beta version of Ubuntu Mate 16.04.

Created a USB bootable for installation as suggested on your website.

In BIOS, I had to select the legacy support (with legacy boot as he
first boot option), as the USB was not otherwise recognized. I am using
the same USB stick, which I used to install Windows 10 on this machine.
That time the USB got recognized easily.

Created /boot of 350 MB, swap of 10240 MB and around 240 GB of / (root).
Later on I was informed to have at least 1 MB assigned for bios boot. I
had an already existing partion of 16 MB, which I selected for it.

Installation failed because of some issue with bios boot. I do not want
to lose my windows and hence terminating installation.

As is always the way I found a few silly things in the package (wrong
bug syntax in changelog, overcomplication in a helper script,
override_dh_prep was calling dh_clean and not dh_prep) and uploaded a

[Bug 1556795] Re: Mouse wheel scrolling keeps going inertially

2016-03-21 Thread Daniel van Vugt
** Description changed:

Using a mouse wheel in Unity 8 > System Settings > Background works for
scrolling. But it keeps scrolling inertially even after I've stopped
  rolling the wheel.

This doesn't seem like a major issue, but it feels like the same kind of
usability problem I have seen in Pocket Desktop where the web browser
scrolls too far using two fingers on the phone (which I suspect is
another simulated mouse wheel scroll :P). And in the web browser, not
- being able to scroll to the location you want is infuriating.
+ being able to scroll to the location you want is very frustrating.

** Summary changed:

- Mouse wheel scrolling keeps going inertially
+ Mouse wheel scrolling keeps going inertially (past the location I want to
scroll to)

[Bug 938751] Re: jpeg images are washed out or colors are skewed

2016-03-21 Thread Jeff
I had this problem on Ubuntu 14.04. Removing the ICC Profile, as
suggested in comment #14, solved the problem for me.

I'm also wondering where that profile came from... Why do some users
have it and others don't? I don't ever remember intentionally installing
or making changes to ICC profiles.

is about a misleading pathname in an error message.

I'd suggest filing a new bug for your issue however I do not think it is
appropriate to be shipping a new release with 1024 bit DH primes as a
default supported configuration. See https://weakdh.org/ for more
information.

Thanks

[Bug 1560288] [NEW] [MIR] libuniversal-require-perl

2016-03-21 Thread Colin Watson
Public bug reported:

Availability: In universe, architecture-independent.
Rationale: New(ish) build-dependency of devscripts.
Security: No history of vulnerabilities, and it seems unlikely that one would
exist (it's basically just a syntactic sugar Perl module).
QA: No configuration, no open bugs in Debian or Ubuntu, test suite run during
build, has a watch file.
Dependencies: All in main.
Standards compliance: Simple modern dh-based Perl package.
Maintenance: Maintained by the Debian Perl Group, which is usually good enough.

** Affects: libuniversal-require-perl (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

[Bug 1560099] Re: cups-browsed generates constant and significant network traffic

2016-03-21 Thread Till Kamppeter
Thank you for the error_log.

Can you please do the following now:

Open a terminal window and there run the following commands:

sudo systemctl stop cups-browsed
sudo /usr/sbin/cups-browsed --debug 2>&1 | tee log.txt

Let this run for some time and check the error_log of CUPS whether the
problem still persists.

Stop the above command with Ctrl + C and attach log.txt to this bug
report.
