Public bug reported: [Impact] Currently we are not building xmir packages for arm64 as there was no consumer for such binaries. This is critical and crucial for our Ubuntu Touch switch to xenial. [Test Case] Making sure that xmir builds on arm64. Currently no other testing means are easily available, we need to have xmir building at all to build our first arm64 rootfs and then dive into testing. [Bug 1604819] Re: intel driver (intel_drv) not loaded
I chatted with tjaalton in irc. He suggested trying mainline kernel. I pulled http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.7-rc6-yakkety/ now running 4.7.0-040700rc6-generic with $ dpkg-query --show xserver-common xserver-xorg-core xserver-common 2:1.18.4-1ubuntu1 xserver-xorg-core 2:1.18.4-1ubuntu1 and the problem does not appear to be present. I can't run the mainline kernels due to need of zfs and other ubuntu sauce, but it does seem fixed there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1604819 Title: screen goes completely black during usage then comes back To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1604819/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But "change default puppet service provider from 'upstart' to 'systemd'" is what I'm referring to -- where do you see this? I need an explicit test-case so I can figure out where things are wrong (esp. in the development release) and why. As I mentioned in my last comment, *if* the upstart package was not installed to begin with, I see no issues with puppet in 16.04. Was this a 14.04 -> 16.04 issue? It often occurs when switching desktops via hotkeys, but sometimes at other random points. + After playing a bit, I'm pretty sure the reason is that I'm getting the + vesa driver instead of the intel one. + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+13ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-31.50-generic 4.4.13 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-31-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: zfs zunicode zcommon znvpair zavl .tmp.unity_support_test.0: - + ApportVersion: 2.20.2-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Wed Jul 20 09:26:52 2016 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: yakkety DistroVariant: ubuntu EcryptfsInUse: Yes ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: - Intel Corporation HD Graphics 6000 [8086:1626] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) -Subsystem: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 6000 [8086:2057] + Intel Corporation HD Graphics 6000 [8086:1626] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 6000 [8086:2057] InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-07-23 (363 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 15.10 "Wily Werewolf" - Alpha amd64 (20150722.1) ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.4.0-31-generic.efi.signed root=UUID=f897b32a-eacf-4191-9717-844918947069 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.13.0+16.10.20160714.2-0ubuntu1 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.68-1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 11.2.1-1ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 11.2.1-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.18.4-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.10.2-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.7.0-1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.917+git20160706-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.12-2 xserver.bootTime: Wed Jul 20 09:18:57 2016 xserver.configfile: default xserver.errors: - modeset(0): failed to set mode: Invalid argument - modeset(0): failed to set mode: Invalid argument + modeset(0): failed to set mode: Invalid argument + modeset(0): failed to set mode: Invalid argument xserver.logfile: /var/log/Xorg.0.log xserver.version: 2:1.18.4-1ubuntu1 xserver.video_driver: modeset -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1604819 Title: intel driver (intel_drv) not loaded To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1604819/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Just tried on the touchpad of my Dell XPS L502x (2012 model). Its touchpad has physical left and right buttons. [Bug 1604837] [NEW] Segmentation fault in plasmashell while showing program preview
Public bug reported: This bug is happening on current Xenial (16.04). See bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357895 It can be reproduced when hovering over the rightmost program in the system panel, showing its preview. Then moving to the right until the preview vanishes, and moving onto the program again. See movie (not mine, but the same effect): https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=96613 In comment 28 is a workaround, that works for me too: "Right click on Task Manager: Task Manager Settings -> Tab "General" -> Uncheck "Show tooltips"" In comment 39 is a possible fix linked, and in comment 43 is reported, that it works for him too and in comment 45 it is officially used. The affected part is reported as being the plasma-framework package of version 5.18 (currently for Xenial installed: 5.18.0-0ubuntu1.1). [Bug 1604737] Re: s390x installations are degraded due to failed setvtrgb.service
xnox: Is stvtrgb using GIO_CMAP/PIO_CMAP? infinity, https://sources.debian.net/src/kbd/2.0.3-2/src/getfd.c/ iterates conspaths, and open_a_console must succeed, wtih is_a_consoole return (isatty (fd) && ioctl(fd, KDGKBTYPE, ) == 0 && ((arg == KB_101) || (arg == KB_84))); no idea what GIO_CMAP and PIO_CMAP are xnox: I meant to do the color setting. xnox: But yes, that confirms my suspicion that they probably are, as they're testing explicitly if a Linux VC IOCTL works. xnox: So, the only error, IMO, is that they exit non-zero if none of the scanned victims are Linux VCs. xnox: Which would fail on any completely headless system. ie: I could reproduce this on PPC just as easily. I would suggest that if all is_a_console() attempts fail, you'd want to exit 0, and then later, if setting colours on something we thought should work fails, exit non-zero. right Ahh, and getfd exits 1 when is_a_console asplodes, so setvtrgb:main() just needs to test for that and either exit 0 or attempt to apply colors. Just missing that one branch there, IMO. It never tests the return of getfd(), it just assumes it got a useful result. ** Package changed: console-setup (Ubuntu) => kbd (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - s390x installations are degraded due to failed setvtrgb.service + headless installations are degraded due to failed setvtrgb.service -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1604737 Title: headless installations are degraded due to failed setvtrgb.service To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kbd/+bug/1604737/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Uncheck the box named "A mouse is connected" Touchpad should now work alongside a USB mouse. ** Changed in: qtmir (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Invalid ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1604429 Title: Inserting a USB mouse disables touchpad input for Unity8 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1604429/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1577712] Re: mysql_upgrade is called twice concurrently on upgrade from 14.04
Verified. This is tricky to test because it is a race condition, but I have verified that it appears that mysql_upgrade isn't being called twice, and I have also ran a test upgrade five times with no issues. I examined /var/log/upstart/mysql.log before and after a test upgrade. Previously, we were printing "Checking for tables which need an upgrade, are corrupt or were not closed cleanly." there when running mysql_upgrade from the upstart job. After a test upgrade to xenial- proposed, we longer see this string, so it seems likely that mysql-start was updated at the correct time. I also manually checked /var/log/apt/term.log after a release upgrade to xenial-proposed and this appears to be consistent with this. mysqld is running (still on upstart) after an upgrade. After a reboot, systemd has started it as expected. ** Tags removed: verification-needed ** Tags added: verification-done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1577712 Title: mysql_upgrade is called twice concurrently on upgrade from 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1577712/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
