[Bug 1640326] Re: FTBFS on zesty

2016-11-09 Thread Michi Henning
Taglib fix is in the linked branch.

The thumbnailer test dumps core on all architectures on zesty. The fault
keeps moving around, looks like a race condition. We are not using
threads ourselves, so the problem likely is in a something we call into.
Candidates would be QT and (unlikely) leveldb.

I've run the tests for several hours continuously on my zesty amd64 VM,
without error. The fault shows up only in the silo.

For added amusement, the qml test for vivid arm64 is segfaulting. I have
no idea what might be causing this. The thumbnailer code has been stable
for many months and hasn't ever had this kind of problem.

I suspect that the issue is with something that is installed on the
builder. But there is no way to get a core dump when something fails in
a builder, so I don't know how to debug this. Without a core dump, we
are stabbing around in the dark :-(

[Bug 1638502] Re: Can't cancel email registration step

2016-11-09 Thread Michael Hudson-Doyle
Do you mean you want to cancel it while it's in the "connecting to
store" phase? Or after that? The former is fair enough, although a bit
racy. The latter is not really, once the device is managed it's managed,
I guess the only way out from there is a factory reset.

[Bug 1640541] Re: nautilus shows Windows Network but fails to open it

I've been unable to get network browsing to work even after installing
samba and disabling the firewall. smbtree -N shows other servers and
shares on the LAN, but Nautilus just shows the Opening... dialog without
making any progress even after several minutes.

(Accessing smb://server/share in Nautilus, OTOH, works fine even without
apt installing samba and without disabling the firewall. If you know
the name of the server and the share.).

Bug appears when you select a specific origin.
Not all origins have duplicates.
Using the ALL filter does not reproduce duplicates

[Bug 1637179] Re: Hexchat is unstable in Ubuntu 16.10

2016-11-09 Thread Corsaire
So, I took the latest stable sources form the HexChat website, compile
it and create a .deb package using these steps
http://packaging.ubuntu.com/html/packaging-new-software.html , and now I
am running without a crash for almost one week 24h/24.

So I really wish for a new official ubuntu package up-to-date.

Meanwhile, you should try this too if you've got the same trouble.

events to trigger it is:

Create an instance using a cloud image
Start a job running with the following command: "dd if=/dev/urandom
of=/var/tmp/mjb.1 bs=4M count=1000"
Live migrate the instance using a command like: "nova live-migration
--block-migrate  "
Once the migration has finished, stop the dd job on the instance
do a "Hard reboot" of the instance
When the instance boots, file system corruption will be observed and it won't
boot correctly

It seems import_module was not enough, and could not call the specified method.
I have done a quick fix for this, and also added some stability fix when
obtaining power query after commission of deploy.
I will add the diff later.

No one at Elementary seems to care. They classified it as an "Ubuntu" bug
except I dont have this problem with Ubuntu of any flavor, or any other
distribution I've tried.

[Bug 1576187] Re: backuppc/smb: BackupPC failes to backup SMB shares after smbclient update

2016-11-09 Thread Johnwolf
Well, I have this problem since April and still waiting for a fix. And
since downgrading Samba seems to be a PITA, can we have an update on
this bug?

Problem still happening with Samba 4.3.11

Thanks!

getColorSpace, part of lcms, is passed a null pointer.

GfxICCBasedColorSpace::parse has this sequence of code:

  if (hp == 0) {
error(errSyntaxWarning, -1, "read ICCBased color space profile error");
  } else {
cmsHPROFILE dhp = (state != NULL && state->getDisplayProfile() != NULL) ?
state->getDisplayProfile() : displayProfile;
if (dhp == NULL) dhp = RGBProfile;
unsigned int cst = getCMSColorSpaceType(cmsGetColorSpace(hp));
unsigned int dNChannels = getCMSNChannels(cmsGetColorSpace(dhp));
unsigned int dcst = getCMSColorSpaceType(cmsGetColorSpace(dhp));

hp can't be null, or else we wouldn't be calling cmsGetColorSpace. This
means dhp must be NULL, which can only happen if RGBProfile is null.

RGBProfile is set up in GfxColorSpace::setupColorProfiles(). Assuming
this function has been called, it does the following:

  RGBProfile = loadColorProfile("RGB.icc");
  if (RGBProfile == NULL) {
/* use built in sRGB profile */
RGBProfile = cmsCreate_sRGBProfile();
  }

cmsCreate_sRGBProfile can return NULL in a number of ways.

I'm not sure what the fix is though.

[Bug 1640635] Re: cloud-init creates /etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg even if /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg.d/99-disable-network-config.cfg present

2016-11-09 Thread Scott Moser
cloudinit/stages.py uses 'net.is_disabled_cfg()'.

I just verified on a fresh lxc container.

 * boot system
 * lxc exec x1
   % echo "network: {config: disabled}" >
/etc/cloud/cloud.cfg.d/99-disable-network-config.cfg
   % rm /etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg
   % reboot
 * lxc exec x1
   % cat /etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg
   cat: /etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg: No such file or directory
   % dpkg-query --show cloud-init
   cloud-init   0.7.8-1-g3705bb5-0ubuntu1~16.04.3

   % grep "INFO.*disabled" /var/log/cloud-init.log
   Nov 10 02:07:59 xt1 [CLOUDINIT] stages.py[INFO]: network config is disabled
by system_cfg
   Nov 10 02:08:00 xt1 [CLOUDINIT] stages.py[INFO]: network config is disabled
