[Bug 1625848] Re: gnupg2 appears to ignore http_proxy, fails to retrieve keys
So as I mentioned in-person, this fix isn't working. For LXC, I ended up having our autopkgtest scripts divert dirmngr to dirmngr.orig and replace dirmngr with a call to "dirmngr --honor-http- proxy $@" which fixed this issue for us. So it shows that dirmngr does respect the option when told about it, but it's certainly not told about it by default. In my environment I'm in a cleanly installed system in a freshly created user session. ** Changed in: gnupg2 (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1625848 Title: gnupg2 appears to ignore http_proxy, fails to retrieve keys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnupg2/+bug/1625848/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 918489] Re: duplicity allows bad passphrase on full backup if archive cache exists
** Tags removed: verification-needed ** Tags added: verification-needed-xenial ** Description changed: when doing a backup for the first time, dejadup verifies your passphrase by having you enter it twice. on future incremental backups it doesn't need to do this because entering the wrong password will result in the backup failing. with the periodic 'full' backups that happen from time to time, however, any password will be accepted. this can lead to a situation where you accidentally type the wrong password once and are left in a situation where you don't know what you typed and have no way to get your files (or do another incremental backup on top of it). i think this is what happened to me recently. clearly, the fix is to explicitly verify the passphrase is correct when doing a new full backup. this may be a duplicity bug. === Ubuntu deja-dup SRU information === [impact] Users may unwittingly re-set their backup password and not be able to restore their data. [test case] - $ deja-dup-preferences # set up a dummy backup - $ deja-dup --backup # complete first encrypted full backup - $ rename 's/\.2016/\.2000/' /path/to/test/backup/* - $ rename 's/\.2016/\.2000/' ~/.cache/deja-dup/*/* - $ deja-dup --backup # second backup, enter the wrong password - $ deja-dup --restore # try to restore with original password [regression potential] Should be limited? The fix is to delete the duplicity cache files, which ought to be safe to delete. + + It's possible if a full backup is being resumed, we might delete the + current progress. That is a better bug to have than this bug, though. + A more complicated patch would need to be investigated to prevent that. ** No longer affects: deja-dup (Ubuntu Precise) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/918489 Title: duplicity allows bad passphrase on full backup if archive cache exists To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/deja-dup/+bug/918489/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1648526] [NEW] Intel 8265 Bluetooth ([8087:0A2B]) fails to init properly on wakeup from hibernation
Public bug reported: I am experiencing issues with hibernation on a xiaomi mibook air with the Intel 8265 Bluetooth chip ([8087:0A2B]). When waking up from hibernation, the chip fails to properly initialize (?). More specifically, when trying to hibernate a second time the notebook will fail to enter hibernation mode due to: "Freezing of tasks failed after 20.00r seconds (1 tasks refusing to freeze, wq_busy=0)" where the task failing to freeze is hciconfig. This seems to be due to a kernel bug initializing the bluetooth device on wakeup from hibernation. The kernel message reads "kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Setting Intel event mask failed (-16)". I have attached 1) /proc/version_signature 2) sudo lspci -vnvn 3) journalctrl I can confirm that the issue with hibernation is resolved by blacklisting the bluetooth chip in /etc/udev/rules.d/81-bluetooth-hci.rules I have tried the most recent mainline kernel from the ubuntu kernel ppa and can confirm that the problem also occurs there (http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.9-rc8/). Please let me know if I can provide any other information to help fixing this bug. [Bug 1616422] Re: [trusty SRU/FFE] Add systemd binary package for snapd
This bug was fixed in the package init-system-helpers - 1.14ubuntu1 --- init-system-helpers (1.14ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=medium * script/deb-systemd-invoke: Replace with /bin/true. systemd as pid 1 and for /lib/systemd/system/ is not supported in Ubuntu 14.04. It will only be supported as "deputy init" running as an upstart job and handling /lib/systemd/upstart/ (and /{run,etc}/systemd/system as usual). This completely disables the handling of systemd units shipped by Ubuntu packages, to avoid suddenly breaking them when installing them alongside the new deputy systemd init. (LP: #1616422) * debian/init-system-helpers.manpages: Remove deb-systemd-invoke manpage as there is no POD any more to generate it from, and it's also irrelevant. -- Martin PittThu, 15 Sep 2016 13:04:42 +0200 ** Changed in: init-system-helpers (Ubuntu Trusty) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu Trusty) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1616422 Title: [trusty SRU/FFE] Add systemd binary package for snapd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/init-system-helpers/+bug/1616422/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1616422] Re: [trusty SRU/FFE] Add systemd binary package for snapd
This bug was fixed in the package systemd - 204-5ubuntu20.20 --- systemd (204-5ubuntu20.20) trusty-proposed; urgency=medium * Build systemd binary package. Drop installation of /etc/* aside from systemd's own config files. This avoids a package conflict with systemd-services and we don't want to support the full feature set anyway. (LP: #1616422) * Disable SysV init support. This just gets in the way when running systemd as a "deputy init". * systemd: Add Conflicts: to systemd-shim * Create/use private D-Bus socket also for systemd --system. Without this we cannot use systemctl as root or when D-Bus is not running. * Do not read units from /lib/systemd/system, but from /lib/systemd/upstart/ In Ubuntu 14.04 there are a lot of packages which ship a systemd system unit, but almost all of these must not run for running systemd's service manager as a "deputy" init alongside upstart. We do need some of them though, so read units from /lib/systemd/upstart. Only install the system units that we actually need for a deputy init (journal and all targets). * Add Breaks: to init-system-helpers that does not yet have a disabled deb-systemd-invoke, to complete the previous change. * Add upstart job for deputy systemd init. We also need to clean up /run/systemd/system after stop, so that things which check if systemd is running don't get confused. * Add dummy D-Bus units. These are built in for exposing systemd itself onto the system bus. * Drop LSB init hook. We must not redirect SysV init scripts to systemd when running as deputy init. * Stop systemd deputy upstart job on dist-upgrades. Also drop the removal guard as we do want to be able to remove the systemd package while it's only running the deputy init. * Update Vcs-Git: for new trusty git branch. -- Martin PittThu, 10 Nov 2016 15:14:54 +0100 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1616422 Title: [trusty SRU/FFE] Add systemd binary package for snapd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/init-system-helpers/+bug/1616422/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1580123] Re: xrandr --scale (again) confines mouse to native solution
As noted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg- server/+bug/883319/comments/62 , the fix for #883319 requires --panning to be specified with --scaling in order to disable the mouse constraints when scaling. Ideally, xorg should be modified such that the mouse constraints are calculated based on the --scaling and --panning settings, rather than being disabled when --panning is enabled. Short of that, it would be nice if xorg was modified to disable the mouse constraints when --scaling is enabled (in addition to when --panning is enabled). If neither of those can be accomplished, it would probably be sufficient to simply document (in the man page?) that --panning may be needed to disable the mouse constraints when using --scaling. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1580123 Title: xrandr --scale (again) confines mouse to native solution To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/1580123/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
