[Bug 1652351] Re: Touchpad not recognized on Lenovo Ideapad 310S-11IAP 80UA

2017-02-11 Thread Hiroka IHARA
I found out that a one-line fix on the kernel would do the trick. (It works now
on my machine)
The touchpad was actually a variant of the ELAN0600 device supported already by
elan_i2c driver,
so all I need was to add "ELAN0605" to the ACPI matching table inside
drivers/input/mouse/elan_i2c_core.c.
I am going to submit the patch shortly.

[Bug 1593502] Re: samba apparmor profile log entries for /var/run/msg.lock/*

2017-02-11 Thread mike
They are errors in the profile.
I think the default used to be complain, and they "fixed" it by disabling it
-_- .

The problem is still there in 16.04 (linux mint 18.1)

here's a patch that fixes the profile.
I didn't test printing, and i'm just a noob in apparmor, so it might be
possible to do it better.

[Bug 1606447] Re: tp-smapi-dkms 0.41-1: tp-smapi kernel module failed to build

2017-02-11 Thread robin
Yep, same problem here too. A new kernel doesn't fix it, the only way I
could get round it was by manually installing the package from Ubuntu
16.10. Not great, that breaks the whole method of package management
which is so great about apt and repositories.

[Bug 1663959] [NEW] nm-applet shows incorrect info re wifi

2017-02-11 Thread David Edwards
Public bug reported:

(This platform is *insisting* that I say this has to do with the
network-manager-applet package, which does not exist on my system. The
real package seems to be network-manager-gnome.

I'd file another bug for bugs.launchpad.net, but that's way too meta for
me just now.)

nm-applet's icons in the top-right of the unity panel (I think that's
what it's called) often shows incorrect information on the status of the
wifi network.

Specifically, it often shows the ethernet icon when my machine is
connected only wirelessly; or it shows the wifi icon as having *no*
signal strength, when in fact, the signal strength is fine.

The change from correct info to incorrect, or from incorrect to another
kind of incorrect, occurs after waking the machine from suspend.

Logging out and back in, either through the panel system menu, or via
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, fixes it; until the next suspend.

[Bug 1663298] Re: Xubuntu 16.04.2 has no auto-resize installation option

2017-02-11 Thread Walter Lapchynski
I will say I find a lot of conflicting information in the comments.
Looking at the tracker, it seems that it is not consistently reported by
all testers. I also noticed flocculant tested not only Xubuntu but
Lubuntu with success. I notice that it has been reported against i386
and amd64 but not across all flavors.

tl;dr, without a very clear testcase, this bug is likely to be difficult
to reproduce. I realize the tracker testcases themselves describe a
process, but perhaps there's some ambiguity that is resulting in
different results. That said, please revise the description with steps
to reproduce.

For VMs, too, it would be valuable to have more explicit details on
what's being used. What's the host OS, hypervisor type/version, virtual
disk type/size, memory, CPU, etc.

Admittedly, Adam, based on #10, the issue appears to occur when the
virtual disk is increased, which does not seem to be consistent with the
conditions of your assertion.

[Bug 1629881] Re: Vc package significantly out of date

2017-02-11 Thread Simon Quigley
Attached is my patch.

Sponsors, please take a look at the debian/changelog file specifically,
I want to make sure I did that right. Also, please look and make sure
it's compatible with Debian Policy revision 3.9.8 and Debhelper 10, I
want to make sure I got that right too.

It builds fine locally for me.

[Bug 1542733] Re: Connect to Hidden Wi-Fi Network, "Connect" grayed out

2017-02-11 Thread Glenn Moloney
Hi Frédéric,

Thank you for the clear instructions as from my point of view it's much
appreciated!!

Unfortunately I've hit a hurdle with either an existing install or a
fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.1 with all the updates completed...

The first two commands in the terminal worked perfectly fine & saved the
file in the home directory.

$ wget -O 0001-wifi-dialog-fix-enabling-of-Connect-button.patch
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=328481
$ wget -O 0002-wifi-dialog-enable-Cancel-button-if-secrets-are-not-.patch
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=328482

However the third command came back with the below response.

$ apt source network-manager-applet
Reading package lists... Done
E: You must put some 'source' URIs in your sources.list

And the forth.

$ cd network-manager-applet-1.2.0/
bash: cd: network-manager-applet-1.2.0/: No such file or directory

If possible are you able to confirm the third & forth commands or
possible step that might have been missed.

If not or don't have any time to help I greatly appreciate your
assistance & patients to date!!

Cheers Frédéric

[Bug 1663948] Re: common problems with Ubuntu 16.04.2 after fresh installation

2017-02-11 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1663948/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
