Oh yeah ...my Lubuntu 12.04 came installed with "Gnome mplayer" but when I 
installed Gnome-Media-Player my problem "player did not initialize properly" 
went away and I could pay my wave files on Reverb Nation. I didn't have 
problems with video or flash or You Tube.

I had this problem too. I'm running Lubuntu 12.04. I use plain 12.04 and not 
LTS because lubuntu 12.04 LTS requires PAE and won't work on my Pentium M 
Itronix go book 3. I have to keep running Lubuntu 12.04. Anyway the answer for 
me was to go to the Lubuntu Software center and install 
Gnome-Media-Player . While installing looking at the "programs to install" lo 
and behold at the top of the list...Libavcodec53 !!! PROBLEM SOLVED.

Despite all that available space, he was not given the resize option.

Just to remove variables, I confirmed that LVM was not used and none of
the Linux partitions are encrypted.

There is a GPT partition, so maybe that's the issue?

To further help figure this out, the output from running `ubiquity
--debug` is attached. It seems the resize option is removed, though I'm
not clear from the log how that conclusion was arrived at.

I don't think this is good default behaviour. When you are in trouble
with your system, you often cannot even get to a console and do editing
work. You may not have access to the internet to find out how to enable
boot messages. You may not have the time or the relaxed mood to do that.

Look for forum entries on "boot messages" - they are so many, so many
people (me included) do not understand the concept.

Easily triggerable boot messages really should be the default.

The is no BIOS setting for it. In the Lspci.txt of this bug there is
"Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter" and now
it's absent from lspci listing. Windows can't find it either. I would be
able to use the laptop without WiFi but second day when I booted it, it
also put the fan to 100% so that the noise makes it unusable for me.

I might buy exactly same model for new laptop but it has to wait at
least few weeks now.

I am not trying out testing versions, I'm sorry, but you guys have
wasted a lot of our time, you and the Xorg team.  It's  a joke really.
You added the tag "bios-outdated" there's nothing outdated about my BIOS
so I don't know where you think that's an appropriate tag.

I'm sorry but testing zesty on a production computer is not an
acceptable thing to do, if non of your devs have an i7 Haswell or higher
with this issue, you simply aren't trying hard enough to find it.  I
already explained what the fix is, and if Zesty doesn't have it, I'm not
wasting time.  These machines for work are to stay on LTS, so it is your
duty to fix it.  Can't claim to have long-term-support, if your support
is literally like this.
