[Bug 1347726] Re: ubuntu14.04 installation hang on "The installer has detected that the following disks have mounted partitions"
This is a really annoying bug. In my opinion there is no good really to mount /dev/sda1, the /boot partition from my previous install... I was able to work around the bug by adding this to the %pre section in the kickstart config: # -- Hack starts! block installer mounting /dev/sda1 on /media # We do this...by mounting the install media (/dev/sd0 or /dev/sd?) onto /media first! # so when the installer tries it's bad mount it silently fails INSTALL_MEDIA=$(mount | grep /cdrom | grep -E -o '/dev/[^ ]*') mount "$INSTALL_MEDIA" /media # -- Hack ends This might also work around the 33% partition freeze on /dev/sda1...I can't trigger that any more so can't test it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1347726 Title: ubuntu14.04 installation hang on "The installer has detected that the following disks have mounted partitions" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/1347726/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

In fact, having recently disabled FallbackDNS for myself, I find that I get no DNS at all maybe a quarter of the time I reboot my system. [Bug 1691620] [NEW] Recommend instead of depend on gnome-software-plugin-snap?
Public bug reported: When I packaged gnome-software 3.22 for Ubuntu, I had it depend on gnome-software-plugin-snap because it should be installed by default in Ubuntu, right? gnome-software 3.24 now has separate appstream metadata for the various gnome-software plugins. This allows users to easily enable or disable addons by clicking the checkbox on the details page for an app. What's interesting to me is that the Addons don't show up on the Details page if they are provided in the same package as the app itself. Today, I moved the appstream metadata for the Snap and Flatpak addons to their plugin packages. One benefit is it now very easy for someone to enable Flatpak support. There's one problem right now. If a user unclicks the checkbox next to "Snappy Support", gnome-software will be installed since it Depends on the Snap plugin. We could: 1) Change Depends: gnome-software-plugin-snap to Recommends: gnome-software-plugin-snap, or 2) Move the Snap addon metadata back to the gnome-software package so that it Snap support is not removable in gnome-software Any objection to #1? ** Affects: gnome-software (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1691620 Title: Recommend instead of depend on gnome-software-plugin-snap? [Bug 1691228] Re: Rthymbox window does not open
Thanks for the bug report! Unfortunately, it looks like you're having hardware issues that could be the cause of the bug that you're experiencing. I see a lot of I/O errors in the JournalErrors.txt attachment. I'm afraid there's nothing that an Ubuntu developer can take action on so I'm marking this bug as invalid. I hope you're able to straighten out the hardware problems. ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1691228 Title: Rthymbox window does not open To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1691228/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1691531] Re: Security vulnerabilities in openvpn in 16.04LTS
Hi Jeff - Thanks for the bug report! We've released an update for these issues in Ubuntu 17.04, which is the only stable Ubuntu release that CVE-2017-7478 affected. CVE-2017-7479 also affects all stable Ubuntu releases before 17.04 but we rated it as a 'low' and, therefore, we won't release security updates unless a higher severity issue is found in openvpn. This is to reduce the chance of regression in an update that only addresses a low impact security issue. We published an Ubuntu Security Notice for the Ubuntu 17.04 update: https://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-3284-1/ We also tweeted about it: https://twitter.com/ubuntu_sec/status/864243702042177536 I hope you'll find one of those information feeds helpful. ** CVE added: http://www.cve.mitre.org/cgi- bin/cvename.cgi?name=2017-7478 ** CVE added: http://www.cve.mitre.org/cgi- bin/cvename.cgi?name=2017-7479 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1691531 Title: Security vulnerabilities in openvpn in 16.04LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvpn/+bug/1691531/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
